I used to take pints to work and give them to some office coworkers at Christmas until the plant manager told me to stop bringing alcohol to work. I think he was jealous because I didn't bring him any.

Yeah we have that policy at work too, mainly for the customers, but I still find beer cans ad booze bottles in the corn maze LOL

After running all over going to Costco, the mvd, my daughter's place to pick up a whole bunch of dog food I finally made it home. Today it's back to sanding the front porch. yesh!😡

Morning...
Woke up at 3:30 and apparently I was done sleeping so I got up and put the coffee on. Boss slept on her bed in the living room last night. The temps dropped into the 30s last night so I think she wanted to stay nice and cozy near the propane wall heater. I noticed Betty Lou only had her face out from under the covers so I think she was cold too.
Boss soon began her boo boo baby whining and wanted attention. I petted her until she was ready to get up, eat and go outside where she walked the fence line barking and letting the World know that the queen has risen. She went the entire perimeter before she wanted back in.
I need to contact the PO this morning. I sent a package out to another member on the 12th and tracking shows that it hasn't even left our local PO yet. That don't look right.

 Today I will be trucking in a load of pumpkins, squash and gourds. The sales have reached record levels, and our fields are looking empty

Pumpkin sales are a leading economic indicator!  Sounds like it will be a good autumn.

The first good cool weather of the season arrived last night.  This morning Flash and Belle danced on my head to wake me.  Flytrap will be sixteen years old in November.  She gamboled like a pup this a.m. when I let everyone out.  The pack went nuts when I pulled on my camo hoodie and picked up the Crosman 2200.  We took our morning hike in the crisp air and Belle had to plunge into each of the fish ponds in turn.  Belle is now eighteen months old and in the midst of the terrible twos.  She's grown up to be a chubby, barrel shaped, black Lab with good instincts.  She swims fearlessly and she's gonna make a great retriever.  Plans for today are flexible.  I have to make some doctor's appointments but after that I should be free.  This afternoon I hope to work on improving Belle's field skills.  Maybe I'll take her and Flash and go tree some squirrels.

Woke up to 44f this morning. It was still 71f in the house but I was 🥶. What the heck? Going to paint the part of the deck that I finished painting yesterday. We're suppose to get a little rain tonight which will be good. 1 of our rain catchment tanks probably only has around 50 gallons left in it. We use it to water the wife's flower garden and really didn't want to have to use the hauled water for it.

We made it back home from Hume Lake, it was beautiful but we did have some smoke in view from the "Happy Fire".
 Mt first reaction to that fire's name was "Are they letting the arsonist name the fires now?" 
 I found out it was name after the location it started which was "Happy Camp" California. I am not sure how close the fire was but think it was more than 30 miles away? There were Cal Fire crews lodging in Hume Lake Camp on time off.

 True but, Hume Lake is about 50 miles east of Fresno within the Sequoia National Forest. The Lake is 87 acres at 5,200 feet elevation originally used to support commercial logging. The Dam was built to supply water to the longest lumber flume, that transported logs 73 miles to Sanger CA.

Got up around 4am to the normal routine.
As I posted in the non airgun thread... I had to replace the laptop yesterday due to constant lock ups. That was so frustrating. This new one is like a breath of fresh air once I found my way around Win 11 and got all the updates, apps and my software going. Feels pretty good not wanting to kill something first thing in the morning. 
The package I sent to another member still hasn't made any progress from when I dropped it at the post office on the 12th. I stopped in and asked about it yesterday morning and the girl said she would look into it and call me.. no phone call yet so I might need to pay them another visit today.

Mornin y’all.  I got up extra early this a.m. and drove my truck in to Hooterville to get the front end aligned.  I stopped by the alignment shop yesterday and arranged to drop it off today.  When I got there the same rather dim young man I had spoken to yesterday told me that the guy who does alignments is off today.  I got a little short with him and pointed out that I had made an appointment with him yesterday and perhaps he should have checked?  The guy didn’t even apologize.  He just said he would talk to the owner.  He comes back in five minutes and tells me that there’s another technician who might be able to do it but he won’t be in for an hour.  I thanked him politely and left.  I called an old friend who has his own shop and asked him but he said he only does pull-and-plug work now days.

Lots of “technicians” out there but there ain’t many “mechanics” left.

Oh poop.  I’ll find somebody that wants to work on it.  Problem is I’ll have to drive the memsahib’s tiny econo-box until then.

In this case it would be called venting.
Before I let pressures build within I went to the PO this morning. They told me that the PM got tied up yesterday and didn't get a chance to contact the main hub. They asked me to give them one more day then file a claim.
I sent the package on the 12th and eta was due the 15th. Procedure is to wait 10 days but they said I could go ahead and file.
If I end up filing a claim I will just refund the purchase price of the item and wait to recover the insurance claim.
FYI... the shipper must file the claim, not the receiver.

We finally got a little rain last night and suppose to get a little more today. The ground is so dry it just s@#$ it right up. Never got around to doing the painting yesterday. It was really windy and I was already suffering from allergies from the day before. Not sure what is in store for today.

Good morning, I got to bed at 1:00 and got up just after 6:00. I had a good night's sleep, most of it was restful. 

 The weather looks great! I need to mow the weeds, I also need to prepare a shipment for my son and get it shipped to him first. I meant to ship that last week and he asked if I had shipped it yet. I better get it done! He thinks he is going to get just an "obsolete" Bible program on a flash drive but I am going to send him a SSD in an USB enclosure with a lot of his old docs and pics that I recovered from a "dead" laptop he gave me a couple of years ago. I am sure he'll be happy to see the stuff he thought he had lost forever along with a good 1TB external storage for backups.

Wake up for a few more minutes then continue on tearing up the laundry/bathroom for a couple hours.  I have finally moved to the inside of this project.  I have given myself two weeks.  I hope that I can get this done.

I’ll wrap up and leave for Pops for pool @ 1130 then off to work after that.  Another marathon shift at work.  I’ll be off 2300 Saturday night.  This has gotten really old…

No heavy lifting today, will give my bursitis a break.   But it's a beautiful fall New England day, perfect for mowing and leaf raking.  Will definitely have to do some shooting.
