It was a cool 51 when I got up this morning. Perfect morning to grab a cup of coffee and head out to the shop.

Now just hanging out with a recorded Ohio State vs. Oregon Ducs game streaming and chillin' warmin'   

It's 72 in the shop now. Got a small fan on a shelf on low aimed up into the vaulted ceiling. It keeps the warmth circulating so there are no hot and cold spots.

That sounds and looks real nice Bill. I installed a new toilet seat and completed some other minor tasks but other than that it's been a nice day off.

Hey Bill!  I told the memsahib that I needed a small shop stove for this winter.  She's kinda gotten used to me being out in the man cave so I'm letting the idea sink in.  I ain't gonna find one as cheap as you got yours but I figure it will pay for itself quick enough in savings on the power bill.  I got unlimited stove wood.

The Japanese also have an interesting way of heating their abodes with a sunken hearth (IRORI) at the center that also serves as a cooking engine of some sort

That and their onsen and sento make me want to go to Japan and experience them  …then there’s the food..

My Hawaiian-Fil coworker told me their baths are heavenly, having stayed there for 5 years, and are always a ritual of some sort.

Japan’s water is really nice, I was surprised when my Ma took a vacation there for about 2.5 weeks to meet Pa who was coming in from from the US back in the back in the mid 80s..She came back with porcelain skin, no BS..Probably sulfuric like the Camuigin Island’s water in the Philippines

 I'll say so long until Thursday now. I am going to be off grid (sort of) until then unless things are different than usual at Hume Lake. Most years my Verizon won't have service up there in the forest. There was one year we had service because it was set up for nearby fire fighters.
 I hope that doesn't happen this year, I'd rather have better air quality. It's nice to just relax up there without internet for a few days.

We have a training meeting tomorrow and I didn’t feel like being on the road for that long early in the morning. I have a service call to run first and I’ll straighten up my van. Hopefully, I’ll get done at a decent hour, get the van washed and be able to take it easy on the road later.

Up at 0600.  Dropped C off at school.  Made coffee and an outdoor fire.  I’m outside enjoying both. 

Plan is to add the last of the roof and flashing to the closet and find some hardware to secure the door along with a doorstop and weather strip.  If I get that all done I’ll be satisfied.

Got out early and I been cutting up lots of the fallen limbs I have been gathering into wood stove size. I got a pretty good stack going including a bucket full of kindling for starting. I also have a bucket full of junk mail. I also cut up the box from the 43" tv we bought into target backer size.
Then Betty Lou called me in for breakfast.
Headed back out and see what else I can find to do while we have these cooler temps.

I'm out on the front porch sanding the places where the paint bubbled up so I can touch up the paint. Of course it's in the sun shine so I'm getting over heated.🥵🥵🥵 The part that upset me is the humming bird feeder was hung up crooked by the wife and it dripped all over the railing and deck so I'm out there scrubbing it up so I can sand.🤬🤬🤬

Soothing indeed. You can hear that while surfing online when not near the fire by playing a fireplace video on youtube in another browser tab, or download the video and play it with your media player.  I've been known to post while listening to ocean wave and rainstorm videos too.

About cutting the big box I do that too so the pieces will fit into my patio pit. Spray a little diesel on em then get the lighter and spray a quick blast of brake cleaner into the pit to get the boxes flaming fast then sit back and enjoy the show.

The weather app says temp is only supposed to get to 63 today. Good day to fire up the wood stove and putter around in the shop while I wait for the propane truck to show up. Maybe open the North Range shooting window and snipe a squirrel or 2 if they come into range. If not I'll just plink at the resetting flippers. I have them set at 25 and 40 yards.
Betty Lou mentioned that we haven't been to the casino in several months.. maybe even a year or more. We usually set a spending limit at $100 and play the slots. I run my $50 through one time and walk away, win or lose. Betty Lou cycles hers through until she has none left..

It is filtered so very little settling, I would not call it clear like pasteurized store bought. One of our office gals hubby used to make apple pie with it and give pints of it for Christmas, good stuff.

I used to take pints to work and give them to some office coworkers at Christmas until the plant manager told me to stop bringing alcohol to work. I think he was jealous because I didn't bring him any.
