I've fixed a our few appliances over the decades but eventually they all got too old and were replaced with newer ones.   I told the salesman that our old washer and dryer lasted 35 years.   He assured me that the new ones wouldn't last that long.  In the olden days when you had a few good solid river rocks to beat clothing against, it would last several generations.   Not sure if they make 'em like that any more.

Ernie, I have been babying a Sears Kenmore washer that I have had since 1985. The companion dryer gave up in 2010 when the heating element and a few other things quit working and the replacement is a Kenmore as well. All are knob machines and not tied to a d--n cell phone. Yep they don't make them like they use to.

Good morning, up at 6:00 today, the fourth time I woke up.

That history is about the same as ours except my wife wanted a new set so we just "upgraded" to new and sold the old ones in working condition. That was a huge mistake, nothing but frequent repairs since. The newer ones do LOOK nicer though. 

I don't make plans for Mondays usually, none specifically for today, I'll just relax and go with the flow mostly. I have a bunch of PVC fittings scattered on a big table out back for about a month now that I need to sort and put way for the next repair that comes up. Living on 5 acres I keep a large supply on hand so a broken water line doesn't send me to town scrambling for parts. The ziplock bags I had stored them in have started to crumble so it is time to rebag it all. Since my neck problem happened I have been doing very little but waiting for the stiffness and inflammation to go away.

 My neck is almost back to normal (85% I'd say) and I am going to see what I can do without making it get worse again. I'll proceed toward normal activity cautiously starting this week. Maybe more movement will help?

 I am hoping the fruit flies are not too bad this morning.

I have this option that works great if needed. I have just used it as a oily rag washer
I also have a rinse tub with a hand crank ringer too.

Good morning! I got up at 7:14 after 5h 33m  sleep.

I plan on staying cool, I will have to stay inside mostly to pull that off. I should be below 90°F until about 10 AM though and it is 70°F and real nice out now at 7:39AM on my back deck.

Good morning, I got up at 5:38 this morning.
 Today should look like yesterday pretty much, just try to stay cool through this heat wave. I am not sure what it got up to yesterday because I did stay inside for the hottest part and didn't pay attention. Today's forecast high is 108° and it says much cooler than yesterday.

Mornin y'all.  Another rough night trying to sleep.  No real plans today.  I have to make the two hour drive into the city to buy drugs.  I used to take drugs just for fun.  Now I take them "as recommended by my doctor".   Bummer.

Sam I got me some more 40% white rum I like to mix in drinks. No pills needed for me but although I have shoulder pain at times it's not as severe as yours either. I used to get tramadol from my dr for pain which really helped back when I had kidney stones. Your dr ever get you to try those or you have something stronger?

I got lots of orthopedic injuries.  Both shoulders, knees, hip, wrist.  If one thing don't hurt something else does.  The wife takes Tramadol for a neck injury.   Right now I'm taking Meloxicam which is a NSAID and it works pretty good if I don't do something dumb like tossing 60 lb. propane tanks in the truck.  Like I did yesterday.

The trip to town got canceled.  My prescriptions won't be ready before tomorrow.  I'm gonna set up my chronograph and test a single type of pellet in several guns.  Then I'll post my results here.

Old motorcycle injuries? May need to downgrade to five 20lb tanks before it's over with. You can lift two at once yet still have less weight than the 60lb tank.

Murdercycles, sports, stupidity but believe it or not mainly bicycles.  From Repack road to the Mammoth Kamakazi I crashed on all of them!

The 20 lb. tank weighs 30 lbs. full.  The 40 lb. tank weighs 60 lbs. full.  I went down to the 40 pounders because my 100 lb. tank neighs like 150 lbs. full.  The 20 pounders are convenient but I hate changing tanks all the time and I only seem to run out of gas when I'm in the shower.

The speakers in my old 19" TV finally got so distorted that I could not make out
what was being said, so I bought this from Amazon.

It arrived today and I've installed it.
It's way more TV than I need, but for the price I just could not turn it down. I almost bought two.

It works great.
I don't like having to go through some hoops to get to the cable channels , but I guess it is what it is.
With the old one, I just turned it on and the cable channels were there.

Oh, well, if that's the only thing to complain about, I'm doing good.

I'm going to see If I can find a way to hook up some wireless head phones to it.
It does seem to have a head phone jack.

Good Morning, up at 5:30 this morning.

I plan on preparing flash drive of files to send to my son today. This evening there is an annual Church association meeting to go to, it's in Coachella this year. It is supposed to get up to 108°F in Coachella today and the hourly forecast shows it will be about 94°F when we get there. Of course it will be held inside in an air conditioned building.

It is supposed to get to 102°F in our area today, so a little cooler than it has been this week so far.

Up at 5 and drank coffee while watching some recorded IMSA racing from INDY.
I headed out to the shop at 7 and shot the NOTOS some then headed for the casting shack.
Once things were up to temp I poured some 217 20 RF pellets. I could tell I hadn't poured in a while because I was pretty wobbly at it. I got 50 or so poured and put them in the tumbler to check results before I waste a bunch of time making scrap lead.
That's pretty much the plan for today... just putter around the shops doing whatever trips my triggers.

Thankfully both times I wiped out on motorcycles was at low speed where all I got was a burn scar on a leg from the exhaust. Crazy I never wrecked on my bike when standing on the frame while going downhill 35mph yet I came to a stop and hit my head on the sidewalk ringing my bell pretty good when I was a young teen. Yep a lot of people love cold showers but not me. A cool shower feels nice when I'm hot from working outside but not cold water.

It's set up in the Castin' Shack so I'll cast up more of the 217 20 RF pellets while it's doing it's thing. I have more new high cap mags coming for a couple .22 guns so I anticipate blowing through some pellets and want to stock up on them. I also have a wifi extender en route to get a better signal in the Shack. Some kind of recorded sporting event will be streaming most of the day.
Other than that, Betty Lou mentioned that she needs a local grocer store run today so I'll break for that.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I got up around 20 minutes after 0600. I’m finishing up my second cup o’Joe and I’m about to go grab something for breakfast. Andi got home from her trip to Oregon late Wednesday night and I worked on Thursday & Friday. So, no real plans for today. I did suggest we go to the park after the girls get up and get ready. It’s been hot and dry here, with not much change looking forward. We really need some rain pretty bad. Despite all that, I’ll probably shoot something, sometime today.

When I had one of my 3 loptops "update" to Windows 11 I didn't like the UI so, I searched and found registry hacks/changes to make it look and feel like Windows 10. I don't notice any differences now when I use it.
Here is one source with good instructions. Of course a person can mess things up if they are not careful, make a restore point and backup the registry first.

Good Morning, I have a neck and headache this morning. It came on yesterday and is a little worse this morning. I am trying to ignore it and hopefully it will go away soon.

I poured my creamer in my coffee and went to stir it with a handheld frother that has/had a week battery in it. It worked great for stirring my coffee that way, and was conveniently right there. Well, my wife had changed the battery so it threw a bunch of coffee out of the cup and onto the countertop and floor immediately. I had been the only one using it for the last few months so it was a big surprise!    OK the day feels like it started off with me stepping in a trap.    

 I am sure she didn't think she was setting a trap though. She just used it for the first time in a long time and "fixed" it, LOL

 Oh well now I know it works as frother instantly again.
