Brett once you retire you'll find you're just as busy as before if not more so as a lot of cats find themselves being surprisingly. One good thing about it though you can decide when to take a day off but that's also more work to do the next day too unless you have a low maintenance home and property maybe.

I have heard that too.  I’m looking forward to it.  I’m sure I’ll have a year or two to “catch up” on my to-do list at home then I’ll be free again to find gainful employment.  I hope Mrs. P can put up with me being at home so much…

The great thing is that you're working for yourself doing things how and when you want.
I find something to do around here every day. And I work on my own schedule.
I never have to call in a sick day or burn vacation time.

I only have 3 kids that share it.  3 are out of the house and 2 (adult) work and go to school.  Only 3 kids under 18 left.  When I do retire they should all be on their own.  If not, I have failed them.  They should be independent making their own way.

You will also find yourself working longer hours with no overtime pay.... well, no pay at all.
The only compensation you get is a job well done and keeping busy and off the couch.
And if you are the boss, you will find the worse and hardest boss you have ever worked for.

Well I definitely lost it at work but I ain’t goin near that place to look for it.  I was on boats today and it would have been like “The silent Gondoleers”.  I can’t talk but I can still shoot!  I’m headed back to the sand quarry in the National Forest with some airguns and some PB’s y’all,

You're doing it right for sure but dads still need help every now and then too though despite their kids independence. Like all else in life achieving the healthy balance of independent but helpful is the hard part. I got so independent there for awhile right out of high school I wasn't any help at all to my family and I regret those days but I've more than made up for them now.

Just found out that the fire restrictions have been lifted for my county 🎉🎉👍😁. The heck with weed whacking I'm going to get back to weed burning!! Burning eliminates the seeds along with the weed. So off I go to fire up some weed!!🤣😂🤣

Morning...
Up at 4:30. Betty Lou and the dogs just rolled out.
Got another phase of the bar project done yesterday so I'll work in the shop today. There is a built in raised day bed that Killer had built in there when it was his play house. I'm going to rip that out and finish putting the plywood on the floor where it was. The I'll do some reorganizing to take advantage of the extra space.
Temps are predicted to be in the high 90's for the next 3 days so it's a good time for indoor projects.

Good morning from the land of mush. Not doing anything that involves the yard, had enough of it. The holes are filled in but that is it, 5.5 inches of rain 24 hours has turned the yard flooded mess again. May just get in the truck and ride the roads for a little while. It needs to be exercised to keep the battery up and lube everything. I have a fedex delivery coming and have to wait for that one, so  I will fuss with the zoo, hunt up my fishing stuff and decide if I want salt or freshwater tackle, probably throw both in the truck before it's over with.
