Finish getting the stump up then fix the plumbing, Already unloaded one vehicle full of feed and moved it with the other so they are out of the way. I had to bomb the yard for mosquitoes first thing this morning so I can get this mess done. Yep, hit the ground running.

My grandsons' school year started this week and the bus the older boy rides is having problems gathering the children on time.  So I am on standby in case the bus doesn't arrive.  After that, maybe a bicycle ride.  Later, water the lawn.  It is cool for an August morning.

55 F this morning with a high predicted to be 67 F.
This morning feels like Fall could be right around the corner.
Chiropractor visit today then yard work.
I might do a little shooting today too, that is if I manage to get my work done.

Good morning, I got to sleep around midnight and woke up at 3:47 AM and stayed in bed until 5:47 AM.

 I am going to spend a little time on yardwork this morning, not that I feel like it. I am in a lot of pain, but maybe it will get better with movement. Probably not but, at least I'll have accomplished something despite it. First I'll finish my coffee though.

It is currently 69°F so I have a little while before it is too HOT for me to be out working in it.

Mowing is done. The 360z really makes short work of it. So glad I decided to do that motor swap. I can't tell the difference from when the mower was brand new. And the mulching blades chop the grass up and tosses it out there. I have a valve kit and a can of sealer to repair the tire that slow leaks. One of the tires on the eXmark leaks too so I'll fix them both.
Plans changed just a little for the rest of the day.. We're going to make a run up to Montgomery and do some shopping for clothes for Betty Lou to take to Ohio when she goes. She mainly wants some new tank tops and we she couldn't find anything locally. There are literally 10 places within about a 7 mile range in Montgomery which is 45 miles up the road from here.
We'll get the trailer ready for the dump run  when we get back. Maybe grab some lunch at someplace we done have locally.... something different.

Mowed from 0615 to 1015. Tomorrow I'll finish mowing the yard, I have another acre then I'll start trimming. Should be finished tomorrow mid morning.  It's only 89° with a northerly breeze feel like temp is 100°.

Back from Montgomery. Betty Lou got 5 new tank tops for her trip to Ohio. When got back we decided to hit that new Mexican joint again for lunch. Betty Lou got the same Texas Loco meal she got last time and I had the Burrito Supreme (beef). It was huge but I managed to eat the whole thing. Betty Lou brought half of hers home again.

Rocket launch day!  Son is in Cub Scouts and we are go for launch.  Didn’t get the word until last night all systems were go, as the rain/storms from Debby was threatening to spoil the fun.  We have missed the last couple years because of schedule conflicts, so I’m probably just as excited as he is to finally put up some rockets.

Morning..
Had trouble sleeping last night. Spent the night dozing in and out in the recliner so I would keep Betty Lou awake by tossing and turning. I don't know the reason. I don't have anything stressing me and I don't feel sickly.
Anyways... the plan is to transfer stuff from the big trailer to the smaller one and make a dump run. The dump is free on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 8am until noon.
After that I'm going to look into rounding up some pallets for a couple projects I have in mind. I saw what Brett did putting pallet slats on the wall in his shop building and I think I'd like to do that in Betty Lou utility room. That room was added onto the mobile home several years ago as just a storage/freezer/dryer room. The interior walls were never finished. I have a few sources for pallets.
Other projects on the to do list are:
Sister a ceiling joints in the screen room/bar so I can delete a post in the center of the room.
Remove some repurposed tin roof that is leaky on the atv lean to and replace it with new.

Good morning, checked on the plumbing repair no leaks so that will get covered up and the disaster area cleaned up. Finish loading feeders and make sure all the automated watering system is working. Then probably spend the rest of the day in the shop since this area  is under another heat advisory.

So cool!  We have enjoyed model rockets over the years as the kids (8 of them, 5 are boys) have grown up.  Sean, our youngest, just had a birthday and rockets was one of his requests.  He built one of them and we have launched it already. He has three total.  We need to find a more accessible area large enough to launch them higher.  He loves it!

I played with Estes model rockets a lot in the 60s.   We often taped the engines to sticks because it was cheaper and faster than building the model rockets.   Long straight sticks for stable flights.  Short crooked sticks for more unpredictable flight paths.   Also taped them to model ships and launched them in our pond.   That never worked very well.   When we ran out of blackpowder, we'd often remove the propellant from the casing, carefully pulverize it and use the powder in little cannons or other uses little boys come up with.

Because of the rain softening up the ground I'm going down to pound the T post I wasn't able to get down as far as it needs to be. Then all I need is to get some chain to hang between the 4 T posts to keep anyone from driving on to my property.

I always wanted to get into model rocketry but motorcycles always took first priority and there never was any money left over.

As a teen I spent almost all my money on my motorcycles and cars. Del Taco and Jack in the Box and a local pizzeria got good a share too, lol. My older brother spent his on cars, LOTS of electronics (he was always building amplifiers, ham and short wave radios, et cetera, and he did some model rockets too. Once he mounted rocket launchers on his car fenders for those that ran stop signs in front of him.    I guess it was hilarious when he used them.
