Good morning, heat advisory already issued for the day, 111* predicted. Garden patrol done, do a little house cleaning and feed the indoor zoo, pick up the mail, and retire to the shop for a while working on the stone stuff. Not much else until this afternoon when it cools down some.

Up at 4:30, put on coffee and jumped in the shower. Drank coffee and streamed Parker's Trail until Betty Lou and the dogs got up then I went out and fired up the eXmark and mowed our property. Bush hogged both sides of the drive way with it, deck all the way up. Just enough to keep it under control.

Heat index or actual temperature? It's suppose to get to 102f here but usually gets a couple of degrees hotter. Family is suppose to be coming up to visit. They're predicting a tiny bit of rain Friday and Saturday. Less than a tenth. Winds are going to start Thursday out of the west for a change. Been coming out of the North consistly for the last 2 weeks.

25 hours into a 40 hour shift.  Got about 5 hours of sleep broken up.  Just took a shower, moved some weights ands now Mrs. P is supposed to come up and meet me for coffee.  I hope the bat phone doesn’t ring

Actually the temp here is 88* with the humidity at 78%, that is hot. I walked out the door at 6 a.m. this morning and it was like stepping into a furnace. This area is getting some rain then it turns into a sauna afterwards. It's muggy enough to take your breath away. I limit my outside activities until later in the afternoon.

We drop into the 60s at night. Our humidity is 6%. Hot,windy and dry as a popcorn fart. Prime fire weather. Thankfully none of the idiots around here did any fireworks.

It wasn't as hot today, it 84° now with 88% humidity yielding a 96° heat index.

Earlier this morning I was able to sight in a new scope on a rimfire rifle. I finished quickly because of the extremely high humidity. It was really hard to breath. I retreated inside.

Brett I'd need to toss some ice jugs in the pool for it to feel good right now since being hot it's not refreshing. I freeze gallon jugs then toss them in with the lids off so after they thaw a little you can squeeze the jug underwater for good gushes of cold water around your body to chill out.

I just came in from being out in it since about 10:00, it is currently 102°F with a real feel of 105°F!
 We started off in the shade but that went away about 11:20. The "Baptist Church" sign looks a lot better now!
 Now I am sitting in front of the window AC in my office getting cooled off, and dinking more water.

Mrs. P did make it up and we shared a slice of quiche and we both had lattes and a sweet treat.  We took it to the beach and enjoyed it together.  The bat phone did ring while we were on our date, twice.  They weren’t pressing so they waited until we were done and Mrs. P left for home and I was left to go work.  4.5 hours to go.  Come on weekend!

I'm going to do a little more patching on the garage foundation. The actual patching isn't hard it the cleaning the area first that's the b@#$&@s. I have to take a wire brush and scrub on it to get any loose creat off along with 16 years of dirt. Do a 5 or 6 foot section at a time.


The wife's pushing me to get as much done as I can before I go into surgery Thursday. I guess she's thinking I won't survive.😜😂🤣😂🤣😂

I was up before 5am and was in the shop puttering around when Betty Lou came out and said she needed to make a bread and milk run. After a bite to eat I'll head back out. No particular plan but I'm sure it will involve airguns. I need to fire up the Casting shack soon and pour some .25 pellets for the Avenger.

Not much today, trying to stay out of the heat as much as possible. Spending most of my time in the shop cleaning and sorting the new batch of stones. I still have one more box coming this week. Some I will facet, others be tumbled or cabbed for jewelry. Soon as it cools down I can go back to the airguns and get ready for the hunting season.

Robert, I am lucky if it cools down in late October around here. Freezing weather doesn't start until mid December.

We rarely get any snow on the ground. The dog water dishes and any puddles will freeze over night from time to time  but it don't staay froze long. I have to drip the faucets a few nights out of the year. The normally damp air gets really cold.. more so than dryer air.

We typically only have overnight frosts between December 11th and January 31st.  Yep, that's a 311 day growing season in the Hemet valley area. In the surrounding foot hills we get a few more frosts than the valley floor. Our average rainfall is only about 12 inches.
On average, there are 271 sunny days per year in Hemet.
