Up at 2:38 am. Grrrr. A little after daylight we picked blueberries. It's probably the last picking so I guess I'll let the birds harvest the rest. I'm thinking that's about 33 pounds or so off those three bushes this season.

I had broken one of the tail lights on my landscape trailer so it a good time to update to LED. It was just too hot to fool with it. I'll tackle that tomorrow.

I had bought a scope for my little Browning .22 lever action rifle. I had planned on sighting it in today but TOO hot.  How hot was it you ask? 111° heat index.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! I got up at 0430 without the alarm. I went to bed around 2130, so that was good. I haven’t been on GTA much, nor shooting airguns. It’s been real hot here and pretty busy. I’ve been putting the robot pool vacuum in the pool in the morning when I start my coffee. It runs 90 minutes, so right before I head to work I yank it out & clean it. I swap filters in the pool pump, wash the one I take out and skim the pool. I would task my wife with this, but she’s been dealing with her own pains. Kris & Gil, I appreciate your pain management advice. I’ll get this thing figured out; old habits are hard to break with the job I have. But, I do need to try to better manage both, my pain/health and my job. For now. I hope soon I can change the way I work, this job just keeps breaking my body down.

Up at 5:07am this morning, after a couple of cups of coffee I replaced the tail lights on the trailer.

Gil, Kris, and John sorry for the pain you experience each day. I too have to be extremely careful of what I do. I had a work related injury in 2001 (package delivery driver for UPS) I had a package fall on my head it herniated two discs. Over the next 18 months I has 3 cortisone injections,  muscle relaxers, physical therapy and finally surgery. I was forced to leave UPS after working their since 1985.
I had a cervical fusion C5/C6. A couple of years ago I began experiencing the same pain. Neurologist said I probably needed another surgery. Nope I'll just deal with the pain.

I'm very careful, if I look up, like hanging blinds or even changing a light bulb I can feel the pain coming on.

No surgery for me, that’s my plan anyhow. I don’t get headaches, I know you deal with that, Brother Dan. I’m pretty hopeful that, after this round of injections, I’m going to work on flexibility and strengthening myself.

Mawnin y’all!  Work is incredibly intense right now.  With the heat this summer everyone wants to get in the water and cool off.  And what better place to do that than the world’s largest fresh water spring? That’s where I come in. Park ranger at the worlds largest fresh water spring.
It’s hot!  People are stupid!  Combine that with some booze and some outdoor recreation and you have a winning business model for starting your own emergency room.

But I’m off today!  Let someone else deal with the drunks, JD’s, Karens, bloody noses, sprains, scrapes, sunburn, and the fifty people who want me to bend the rules just a little bit to accommodate them.

I’m going to lock myself in my shed and commit art.

And I thought Ichetucknee Springs was a nightmare to work at. Dealing with half naked people wanting to tube down the run. The garbage cans were lined up with option of them taking it back to the car. NO food or drink in cans, bottles, or wrapped in plastic of some kind. If was stored in a reusable container it was allowed. This insanity lasted about 30 minutes at the starting point. Working the head spring was great, all the tourons were headed down the river. South end was another story and I will leave it to your imagination. I tolerated 2 summer tours and went back to Forestry immediately after that as a fire tower lookout, such peace and quite working that job.

I would not work at Ichetucknee for any amount of money.  That place makes the springs look like Kindercare.  I’ll canoe the spring run in the winter time but I avoid that place in the summer when the tubers are there.

I don’t mean to sound so grumpy.  We’re under staffed and I’m beat from working long shifts in the heat.  I still have the best job in Florida!  Yesterday the water was the clearest I have seen it in years.  There were at least twenty Manatee in the river and a couple of bull gators had a territorial battle in full view of one of my boats.

Thank you fellas, again. I listened when I got my first 2 injections in my lumbar. I might’ve even took it too easy. But, it worked and that was over a year ago, almost 2 years now. I really didn’t do much to improve myself though. I’ll take it easy at first again. I won’t do much of anything for 4 days. And I’ll do the minimum for 2 weeks. But, this time afterwards, I really need to eat better, stretch and do some exercise.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! It’s Hump Day and I have tomorrow off for Independence Day! I got up at 0430 by my alarm. I have my 0600 meeting, then go to work. I need to pickup a condenser fan blade for the job I was on last night and I have a fitness center afterwards for an air conditioning problem. Hopefully, I can finish the day at a decent time.

Alarm @0400.  Commute to work to use the gym facilities.  Exercise, showered and now I’m in the dispatch room waiting to get a work packet for the day while I surf and sip ☕️.  I think I’ll take the fellas out for breakfast and just respond to trouble calls.

Good Morning, We have Bible Study tonight. I don't have anything planned until then except to stay in and cool. For the first time this year the 10 day forecast is all in triple digits. The highest daylight humidity at peak temp is 22% and the low is forecast 15%, so it's going to be hot and dry. NO rain or dew in our forecast!

On the 5th Desert Hot Springs is forecast to get to 120°F, that makes me very glad to be on this side of the mountain where it will be about 12° cooler.

Well it's looking like it's going to be a hot dry summer this year. So far the weather predictors have rain for 1 day next week on Thursday with.06 inch predicted.😡😡 The main stock pond is almost empty and the rancher doesn't take very good care of the cattle. 🤬
