I've just been plinkin' and enjoying the cooler day compared to Thursday where the high temp was
pushing 111f.

Right now it's about 87f and overcast which, hopefully , will keep the temps down for most of the day.

I know what that smells like. I used to ride along with my dad when he drove a bone truck. We'd go by all of the butcher shops in Chicago and pick up the scraps and deliver it to the dog food factory. Lovely smell.🤮🤢

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I woke up a couple times between 0430 and 0530 and finally decided to get up and start the coffee. We have a new Sunday school class starting today at 0900, then Church at 1000 hrs. It’s Mother’s Day, so not sure if there’s small group this afternoon. Of course, I’ll call my Mom… but, my wife doesn’t like big to-do’s. We did take my wife out to our favorite place to eat Friday evening, though.

Good  morning. Called mom this morning and wished her a Happy Mother's day. Cooking day for me with the weather being a little cooler, get the veggies cooked and into the freezer.  Raining on and off here which I don't mind, it's the destructive down pours and high winds I hate. Just take the day as it comes.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! This weekend went way too fast. I slept in until just after 0500 and started the coffee. I’ll get Ayrabella off to school and then I’ll have to call the office to see what’s on my board for today. Coffee first.

I've got to go into town and pickup another 1000 gallons of water plus fill about 50 1 gallon water jugs with filtered water. Suppose to rain this afternoon so need to be done by noon.

The part I've been waiting for is finally going to arrive today.
If it comes soon enough, I might start my project .

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! I got up around 0500, got Ayrabella off to school and went into work. I’m thawing out a freezer and hopefully I’ll get it running and diagnose what it’s problem is. I have a reach in cooler at another site after this.

Weather cleared out quick this morning, not much to this latest system, just a bunch of needed rain. Making new tool handles for the garden tools. Tired of the expensive handles at the hardware store. I have an invasive that has become my go to tool handle wood. I have an over abundance of camphor trees. The wood is hard as hickory and less prone to rot and termites. I have plenty of saplings to make handles. It doesn't take long for them to dry out, best part they do not split when drying. The bigger trees I use for wood turning and bandsaw boxes.

The engine pulley on the 17yr old mower broke so I lifted the mower with the tractor and got the PTO clutch off by hand without having to do any impacting surprisingly but the engine pulley just won't budge despite all the usual tricks. Maybe I could cut it off with the dremel saw. If not then off to the shop it goes where they can put the new pulley on once they get the old one off.

Today is bulk grocery shopping day. I also placed a pick up order at Lowes for the materials I need to build the mower extension on the shootin shack. All I needed was 4 tin roofing panels and 4 joist hangers. I've got everything else here.
We stop and pick up the order while we're in town today and we'll put the extension on this afternoon.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! I got up at 0400, had my coffee and did some reading. I’ll get Ayrabella off to school and I’ll have to call the office for work. That last part, having to call the office, is getting pretty old.

So much for plans… I knew that last part was getting old. So, I called the office and no work for today. I missed Monday so, at this point, I put in for paid vacation for today, tomorrow and Friday. With the 5 days off, I’m going to get some stuff done around here. I intend to have the new pool up and ready Saturday, possibly full by Sunday.

Mornin y’all! This last six day week was hard work!  We’re running with a skeleton crew right now and everyone is doing two or three jobs.  I’m whipped.

  I’ve got to fill the 100 lb. propane tanks today.  Not looking forward to wrestling them in and out of the truck.

It’s a beautiful day but the yellow flies are swarming right now.  I’ll cover myself with bug dope, pull on my bug suit, and light up a pipe full of Latakia or Mac Baren’s Navy blend just to walk out to the garden.

Of course when the flies are biting so are the fish!
