The wind has kicked up pretty strong. My luck it'll blow all those leave back in that I blew out yesterday.

I was up until 3:00 AM, I guess I drank too much coffee yesterday.    I got up at 8:00 AM, so I got a good nights sleep (for me 5 hours is good)

The other day I raked my backyard and after Saturday and Sundays wind it doesn't look like it now.

Yup, we got some wind today. That trampoline’s trashed… it came from the other side of the house. I told my wife, at least it didn’t hit the house. That thing’s heavy, I tried to turn it back over- not happening. Not right now anyway. When I get to feeling like it, I’ll hook up to it with the tractor and drag it back over and away to a spot where I can take it apart on a better day.

Battening down here in preparation for the winds.  Forecast to reach 70 knots here along the coast.  Lashing down the greenhouse and putting away the awnings (in between trips to the outhouse).  There's far too much junk in the yard to even attempt to secure the loose stuff  and I just don't feel like it.  If the winds get high enough to toss old appliances and car parts around we're in trouble.

Well,  the wife is talking about divorce.  We'll see what happens. I guess I've lived to long for her.

Work texted.  Swing shift JIC is calling out sick.  I guess it’s up to me to cover it.  I cleared the back of the van and set up a bed in there for tonight.  I’m just going to camp in the parking lot at work instead of coming home, getting a few hours of sleep just to get up and fight the commute back into work in the morning. 

Today we started to take some of the Christmas decorations down.  We have some that are winter decorations so those will stay up for another few weeks. 

Right now I’m enjoying a cup of coffee and getting mentally prepared to pack up my gear and head to work. 

They are predicting wind coming in tomorrow and snow for this coming Friday - Saturday.  I’m already working extra shifts this coming weekend.  Might have to stay on tomorrow night too?  I don’t want to but I will.  People depend on us to restore their power since they can’t do it themselves.

Brett, I know it's not exactly the same but I can relate and I assume the feeling is much the same...
When we moved here in 2013 I took a job as the supervisor of the press department for a major Hyundai supplier. They were a "just in time" production company and we didn't warehouse any inventory in house. We made and assembled all the inner structural parts of 3 Hyundai car models. The finished components went from the lines into the semi trailers. When the trailers were full they went 45 miles up the road to the lines at Hyundai. We worked 12 hour shifts 7 days a week to keep up. As the new guy, I had the night shift.
I could never get away from that job. The 5 or 6 waking hours I spent at home everyday was not enough to be considered my personal life.
Before coming here I did the same thing in Ohio for Honda for 12 years. 20 years of that life left it's mark on me.

Madd that's mighty tough. Who will take care of her if you two split? May not be brain damage causing that but meds they put her on after the accident, or something she started taking over the counter afterward. If you could find whatever may be causing that and switch to something else you could see if she comes back to herself or not. I have a family member who stopped taking Commit and their instant hair trigger temper vanished where they are no longer hostile to interact with so is why I mentioned this. Consider talking to her dr about this too.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! I got up at 0430 and started my coffee. Of course, I don’t have a job on me for today, yet. It’s supposed to start snowing here any moment. We’re expecting about an inch today, an inch of snow Thursday/Friday… and 6” of snow on Sunday. I really don’t feel ready for snow, though I did clear out the gutters yesterday and dragged that mangled trampoline out of the way with my tractor. Sometimes, I think this thread shows that “life is hard”. This thread also shows “life is hard for all of us”, sometimes worse for some than others. Not everyone handles it the same either, but I think it’s been an encouragement to me. I hope you guys & gals that are going through hard stuff right now make it through OK. That’s why I start every “good morning” post with “happy _______” , whatever day it is. Because, I woke up, and no matter what’s up with today- I’ll need to face it, make good decisions and handle it. It doesn’t always pan out the way I hope it would. But, each morning given to me, I’ve gotten another chance.

I slept pretty good last night despite getting up a couple times which is normal and considering the power went out at around 8:30 pm due to the storms. It was out for about an hour. Betty Lou went to the spare room with Rambo because he was having a hard time dealing with the thunder. I think the boy has PTSD from his time spent on his own before we rescued him. He don't do well with thunder and loud noises at all.
The storms are supposed to clear out by 11 am.

My Mom’s dog Smokey is the same way as Rambo. My Mom rescued & adopted him several years ago. His name’s Smokey because he’d come out of the woods and hang out at the firehouse. My Mom would stop and feed him, eventually she brought him home. He’s a big huge dog and looks all tough, but he’s terrified of thunder. Actually, all the time when you describe what Rambo’s doing, I think of Smokey. My Mom has another dog named Bear, even though he’s not a bulldog, he’s nuts like Boss. Bear has mellowed out the past couple years as he’s gotten a little older, but he’s definitely different than Smokey.

No power outages yet, just the usual flicker to wreak havoc on electronics. Sleep what is that, not in this kind of house wrecking weather.

Rambo got his name for his survival skills. The workers at the plant I retired from named him. He lived in the woods across from the plant.  Boss just happened to be named appropriately when she was a pup.

Yeah, it's still going pretty strong here. Wind and booming thunder with a medium rain coming down. I'm waiting for the power to go out again at any moment. I can't see any downed branches or other damage in the security cameras but I won't know until I get out there after daylight.

WOOHOO !  Those lightning strikes and thunder boomers are right on top of us now... what a ride. That thunder shakes the whole house. The rain picked up and I can't even see out the cameras.
Poor Rambo is trying to get on the bed with Betty Lou. He hasn't been able to get on the bed in a year or more.
I'm going to get Betty Lou up and get dressed just in case we have to get out in a hurry.

There is still some pretty good wind behind it but the rain, thunder and lightning have chilled. The temps are being predicted to drop 13 - 15 degrees in the next 2 hours.

One is just to the east of Dothan.

Only light snow coming down here where I am at.

Not much going on where I live, I'm too far north of this storm.

Just light snow coming down at my place.

The temps right now around here are around 25 F, but they are supposed to start dropping Thursday.

Sunday's predicted high is supposed to be around zero to +5 F.
