Back in the mix with work again.  This is my first day back after a 5 day Thanksgiving weekend.  It was refreshing, productive and restful.  Along with all of those wonderful things it was also TOO FAST.  The work day hasn’t even started and it feels like I never even left this place.  It doesn’t help that there was a turned over semi on the commute this morning with 3 out of 5 lanes shut down and it added an extra hour to the commute in.  So much for my morning nap. 

The plan for today is to just get back into the groove.  The nice part is that it’s not raining outside.  Rain says it should be here on Thursday.

Going to be working out in the property most of the day. I've got a ton of branches to move down to the burn pits. Retirement? BS!! I guess that's what happens when you have 40 acres.😕

I've agreed to Betty Lou's terms to give him a couple days as he has good and bad days. But in the end I will honor my promise to him. He reminds me each time I look into his seemingly saddened eyes. He's definitely not the man he once was.

Good morning, I was up at 4:00 and drove the 2 hour 116 mile round trip to Palms Springs Airport and back. Traffic was very light and it went smoothly. I stopped and filled the gas tank at the Morongo gas station since fuel is cheaper there than in Hemet.


 I plan on getting out all my airguns clean/oil, and make sure my list is up to date and that I don't have any that I may have not added to the list. I am looking forward to handling them all again. I set up two folding tables in the living room to sort them on, I may end up putting up another table, I am going to try to do one safe at a time though so, we'll see.


 I am going to try to group them and "map" where I put each one this time too so it will be easier to get out the ones I want as I want to enjoy shooting them some more.

My wife's cat is acting like it is not feeling well, and our small dog is acting like I feel too, it's just hard to move the beat up body sometimes. As that dog stumbles and trips with stiff joints sometimes and can't jump up on things like she use to it makes me wonder how old she is, she was full grown when we got her and we have no idea how old she is. She has lost some teeth and is definitely getting worn out and weaker. But she still bosses Hank around, LOL.

Yeah, everytime I sit down to do the testing and logging I run into one that needs a bit of TLC and get distracted doing that. I need to learn to just set those aside and continue the process then go back to them one at a time.

Sorry to hear about Rambo there Bill.  It’s never fun to think about and go through the decline of a pet. You did a noble thing bringing him home to be a part of your family.  I know that you and BL will make the right decision at the right time.

Bill, what Andi & I did with Chopper & Millie was marked a “C” or an “M” on the calendar in the kitchen for good days, each day. When they had more bad days than good days it became more obvious than our hopes or feelings. We had the same deal as you do for Rambo. In the end, we did the right thing for them.

Yeah John, I've already come to terms with the obvious path. Betty Lou ain't quite there yet. I'm trying to give her some space. She left 2 dogs behind when we came here from Ohio and I think she has carried some guilt ever since. It was probably not the best decision to bring Rambo into our lives but he already had me and I couldn't let them do what they planned. He still had a long healthy life ahead of him.

Robert, I have only 4 acres but feel the same way about it. 5 years later still cleaning up after the hurricane. Then maintain the fence line on a yearly basis because of the fast growth around here. I am slowly getting it back to where it is not so much to keep it up. I told somebody the other day that I needed a vacation from retirement. I have no intentions of returning to the work force anytime soon.
