Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I woke up at 0400 and I’m having coffee. I don’t have a job on me for today yet, but I have parts in my van. I’ll take it slow this morning and get ready and get Ayrabella off to school. I’ll have to call the office to get a dispatch to work. It looks like today will be the coldest day for the next 10 days or so. It’s only 32* right now, but we should get up to the mid 40*s. The next 10 days or so, we should see mid 50*s and 60*s. I’m fine with that actually, but we like to see some snow by Christmas.

 It is back to work for me after a hunting vacation, still have a bit to use before the end of the year, but I better check in to make sure things are ok.

I woke up around 5:30 and Betty Lou was already up with the dogs and had coffee brewing.
Daylight has broken and I'm gonna hit the shower and head out to the Red Shed.
Temps in the mid to upper 50s today with no rain so I think I'll roll to doors up and get some chrono numbers on the .22 Sentry and the .22 Flash.
I'm kinda amazed that the Flash shoots an entire 12 round mag into a 1/2" hole at 30+ yds with the GAMO Hunter Impact 15.47gr pellets. I have 4 or 5 tins of these that I was planning on melting down for casting because they don't do well in most guns.
Suppose I need to start threads on both guns.

Looks like a good day to brew up a pot of coffee over the firepit.

Up a 0700.  Today is the last day of my 5 day holiday weekend.  It’s been a refreshing time but even so, I am not looking forward to the start of the work week commute. 

No plans for today.  Right now is coffee.  It’s 28 outside and foggy.  Not sure that we will see the sun today or not.

Mornin y'all!  I had another rough night so I went out to the shed and tinkered on air guns.  I slept for a few hours about dawn.  Been exercising the pups.  Belle is
 8 1/2 months old now and man can she run!  After thirty minutes of chasing the tennis ball she's still fresh!  If I can tire her out I'll take her and Flash squirrel hunting this afternoon.  It's day four of my latest vacation and I'm taking it nice and easy.

Well, some friends of ours came up from Phoenix yesterday to visit and ended up helping (they actually ended up doing most of) helping us move the new couch and loveseat into the house. Had to take the legs off of both of them in and had to take the front door off of the hinges to get the couch in. I'm so thankful 🙏that they came up and did that as there's no way Nancy and I could've done it. Dang couch is longer than the door is tall and about 4 inches wider. Wife said that's the last time we ever buy furniture from a place that doesn't deliver.

5 weeks ago we had our family friend (dog) put down.  She was 16 years young and it was her time after having stopped eating.  She was innocent looking but a very fierce protector ( to a fault).  We still have PTSD from that dog BUT we always had a strong sense of security with her around.  Since she has been gone, my wife especially, hasn’t had that same secure feeling that Jasmine gave while she was on post. 

Today, there is the possibility that we could be going to meet a dog that would be added to our family.  I’m not personally sure that I want another dog just yet because I’m coming down from being “on guard” all the time since she was unpredictable with EVERYONE other than our immediate family.  IF we do adopt this animal, she will have the look and bark that we hope will be intimidating to anyone outside looking in.  My hope that she will be chill.

As it often happens around here, plans got changed. I was going to get some chrono numbers on a couple guns but Betty Lou informed me that we needed to go to the big city and pick up her prescription.
I guess I'll try again tomorrow. Good news is that the temps re expected to come up a bit.

We need to try to get to bed early tonight so I can get my wife to the Palm Springs Airport before 6:00 AM.
She wants to leave our house at 4:15 AM to play it safe. BUT it's just 57 miles, OH Well. Her flight is scheduled to leave at 7:00 AM and she will be on time. She'll be gone 2 weeks, the pets are gona miss her .

We are seriously considering this one.  Her name is Bella.  She is a one year old Rotty.  She was a bit shy of me but loved my wife, daughter and son.  We spent about 30 minutes in the room with her.  Like I said, she was skiddish with me until about the last 5 minutes.  We could visibly she that she let her guard down and then she came over and leaned right into me and just flopped while I pet her.  It was very touching because she kept alert to me and every move/sound I made.  At the end she was my bud.  We are still discussing if we are going to take her.  We may go ahead with a trial and bring her home for a bit to see how she will be with a whole house full.  She is a sweet dog

Yes, best wishes to you and your family on the dog situation, Brett. Jasmine looked and sounds a lot like our Chopper. We really couldn’t have anyone over at our place when we had Chopper and Millie. They were loyal to our family, but for 12 years, we literally could not have anyone come to our house without locking them up in a room or out back. And, so, we really couldn’t go anywhere very long, because we couldn’t ask anyone to take care of them. We want another dog, or more dogs, but since Chillie didn’t work out, we’re just not ready yet. Sort of, I really didn’t mind the situation we had.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! I got up at 0400 and I’m having coffee. I wound up with nearly an 11 hour day yesterday. I have a job waiting for me today as well. So, I’ll get Ayrabella off to school again and head into work. I have a thermostat to replace at a furniture store. The only trouble I’m thinking I could have is, if I need to ring out the low voltage wire. It’s a pretty long run to the roof and the ceilings are really tall. I’m hoping the thermostat wire is still good.

Normally I am up at 5 am but this morning I got up, an hour early, at 4 am.
The cat and dog wanted out, to do their business, so I put on a jacket and went out with them.
The temp outside this morning was around 0 F to +3 F.
All things considered, it was not too bad as the wind has abated.
It has been a little on the cold side the last few days with 25 mph winds, below zero wind chills and daytime high temps at around +10 F.
It is supposed to be calm & sunny today with a daytime high of +31 F. 
I just might take advantage of the calm winds, warmer temps, and welcome sunshine, to do a little shooting this afternoon.

Morning..
I woke up at 5 and saw Betty Lou heading down the hall to the kitchen with the dogs. I got up as she was letting them out and told her she could go back to bed. We decided to start letting them go out the back door and down the ramp. Rambo struggled to get up the front steps last evening. I don't know if he was just having a bad day or he's taken a turn for the worse. I'll watch him over the next day or so.
Rambo was a hang around dog (stray) at my workplace in 2013. He lived in the woods across the road. He would come out but was very skiddish and trusted very few people. Out of 750 employees only 4 or 5 had ever even touched him. I worked the night shift and every night about midnight I would go outside and share a peanut butter sandwich and glass of milk with him. We became buddies. When I went to day shift he would seek me out avoiding all others.
I got a call from the HR/plant manager one day. We had a VVIP visitor from Korea and Rambo had made aggressive moves towards him. When I came to the front parking lot of the plant the local animal control was there with the plant manager. Gary told me that they were going to capture Rambo and put him down. Rambo had retreated to the woods. Later when things cooled off Rambo sought me out and he and I had a talk and made a deal. If he wouldn't &^^& in my house, bite Betty Lou or destroy anything I would give him a home. He agreed and later that evening Betty Lou and I, with pork chop in hand for bait, went to bring Rambo home.
We took him to the vet, got his shots and had hi cleaned up. The plant manager footed the bill to have him neutered.
We've always had to watch him very closely when we had visitors ( a few GTA members will attest to that ) but most time we would lock him up if we had company.
This is not going to be a good few days for Betty Lou. Her and Rambo have become as mother and child over the years.

Good morning, a balmy 46* here. Still getting adjusted from holiday travel and fouled up sleep habits. For today, a little gardening, load feeders for the outside zoo. Work on the metal art work for the gate. Just what ever floats my boat this morning.

Bill, I remember you posting about bringing him home, I can't believe it has been that long. Seems like you just got him yesterday.

Sorry to hear about Rambo there Bill.  It’s never fun to think about and go through the decline of a pet. You did a noble thing bringing him home to be a part of your family.  I know that you and BL will make the right decision at the right time.
