Mornin y'all.  Busy day today.  I have to load my antique farm wagon on the flatbed trailer and get ready to do a big interpretive program.  Tomorrow I'm headed to Topsail Hill Preserve to participate in a week long interpretive training.  Friday I'll come home but I will be taking the wagon to another interpretive event on Saturday.  Then a six day week at work.  So thirteen days straight without a break but I volunteered for this so it's my fault.

What is interpretive training that needs an ancient farm waggon?

Every few years the state government that I work for requires that I be recertified for certain parts of my job.  I am an educator.  I teach living history and natural history programs.  We are not allowed to call what we do “teaching” or “education” because we work for the park service and not the department of education.  So we are “interpreters”.

I will be required to write a brand new interpretive program and present it as part of this training.  Right now I use the wagon as part of a program about the Naval Stores industry (turpentine production) in this part of Florida and a program about the “Beach seining” fishing industry along the coast.  For this training I’m planning a program about early moonshiners and whiskey production.

Yep.  I will be building a still.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I was sleeping good until 0500 when I got up. I did fix my clocks, so it really already was 0500. Today we have Sunday school at 0900 & Ch**ch at 1000 hrs. Small group this afternoon at 1600 hrs. I didn’t get to shoot yesterday, yet it was a beautiful day - all day. I’m going try to fit some shooting in today, for sure.

Mornin y'all!  Up with the pups!  They don't care about DLST!  Got to load the wagon today.  The winch battery was dead when we went to do it yesterday.  Then throw my gear in the truck and I'll be ready.  I don't know if I'm going to drive to Destin today or wait until tomorrow.  I have a reservation starting tonight but the program doesn't start until afternoon tomorrow.  If we can arrange some dog sitters the memsahib will go with me and we'll leave today.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I was sleeping good until 0500 when I got up. I did fix my clocks, so it really already was 0500. Today we have Sunday school at 0900 & Ch**ch at 1000 hrs. Small group this afternoon at 1600 hrs. I didn’t get to shoot yesterday, yet it was a beautiful day - all day. I’m going try to fit some shooting in today, for sure.

What is with all this time change business ya keep taking about? Oh yeah, I forgot you poor slobs have to keep doing the time change shuffle.😁😁 Ain't no body got time fer dat! 😜

Yep, the clocks changed last night. I could do without DLST myself.
Another member is coming on Wednesday to shoot with us for a few hours so I'll spend the next couple days organizing and preparing. I dragged 4 large fallen pines out of the woods next door and into the gate to cut and split for firewood. These range from 25' to 40' in length and average 12" in diameter. They are dry and seasoned and they will split easily. There are several more in those woods to get.

It's too late for me to say Good morning now, I changed the clock back as I went to bed last night,    Proposition 7 in 2018, approved by nearly 60% of California voters, allows the state legislature to change the Daylight Saving Time period by two-thirds vote if the changes are consistent with federal law. So if a supermajority of lawmakers approve, the state either could eliminate Daylight Saving Time altogether or, with the help of Congress, extend it year round. But for whatever reason or no reason, they haven’t taken it up yet? Seems like the ignore their voters.


Anyway I got up at 3:43 AM just before my alarm was set to go off. I finished prepping for Ch**ch and then went to Sunday School and Ch**ch starting at 8:30 AM.

I will probably take a 1/2 hour nap before our evening Ch**ch service which is at 5:00 PM.

Other than that, no plans.

Just got home from pet sitting. Man am I tired! One of the great Danes stopped being able to walk right after I got her outside to go potty. I had a pita time getting her back into the house. My neck and shoulders are real sore. She's always at least as long as I've been pet sitting her had problems walking but most of the time just needed a little help.

Just got home from pet sitting. Man am I tired! One of the great Danes stopped being able to walk right after I got her outside to go potty. I had a pita time getting her back into the house. My neck and shoulders are real sore. She's always at least as long as I've been pet sitting her had problems walking but most of the time just needed a little help.

That's sad, our terrier mix stumbles almost falling a few times a day because of getting weak from aging. Most of the time she tries to act like she's fine though. At least she is only about 15 lbs. I think I would have to get help if Hank my Great Dane couldn't walk, he is currently about 140-150lbs. I can lift that much but not in dog weight off the ground.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! Today is my only day I’m available for work, but I don’t have a job on me yet. I got up just before 0430 and I’m on my second cup o’Joe. It’s quite breezy outside this morning, but warm. No real plans today yet, just wait until 0730-0800 to find out what the office says I’m doing. We’ll be traveling this week, so if I can stay home, that’d be great.

Edit: I decided to sign into my work site and got reminded that I did leave a job open from Friday. I fixed a unit, but didn’t like the shape of the blower belt. I need to stop at a supply house this morning and pickup a new belt and go change it. So, I guess I’ll hop in the shower and get ready to go on ahead into work.

As for DST, I got up at 5:45 with Rambo and Boss and daylight was already peaking in due to setting the clocks back. I don't care for DST changing but I'm not going to discuss it politically. It really don't matter how I feel about it anyways.
Rambo has really gone downhill over the past year and a half. I've even seen him start up the three steps on the front porch and have to go back down and try again. He has a heavy limb in a front leg as well as one back leg. He hangs his head and looks sad all the time. It breaks my heart. But death is part of life.
