Was it as good as home cooked?

It was as good as home cooked but nothing compares to the love Betty Lou adds to her recipes.
But yes, this small one off diner cooks everything just as it would be cooked in a country home kitchen.
Biscuits, pancakes, cakes and everything else is made from scratch. Nothing comes from a box or a can.
Tater owns and operates the place and her daughters cook and serve the food. her son buses the tables and does the dishes. Her husband does the maintenance. There are only 8 tables and 2 of those are only 2 seaters.
You can also call in your order and pick it up at the walk up window in the front of the building

I love to keep joints like that in business! It's not just another job to them it's their family's livelihood so they take pride in their food making sure it's always good. If anything I hope they can afford a larger restaurant soon. It's people like that who should be running a food joint not most who do and don't give a rip about the food they put out or if it's contaminated.

Well I didn't get as much done as I wanted to getting distracted and off mission but, I did do some airgun shooting which was a great distraction and very enjoyable. I shot about a dozen old spray paint cans "spray bombs" that had clogged nozzles, some of them were nearly full and made very reactive targets.   


  Then I shot them more after my first shots had made them bleed out, LOL. The red one was knocked back into the fence behind it where it then shot at least a 15' blast of red paint, The reactive bursts made a great show but I almost wish I could have missed some shots 20 yards with my woods walker is just too easy.


  I have some more VERY old spay paint cans and will probably use a different airgun or a greater distance next time to finish them off.


  Maybe I'll set them up at 20-30-40-50 and 60 yards for starters next time.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday! We made it! I got up around 0515. I’ve had one cup o’Joe and I’ll have another before I get moving. I actually have a preventative maintenance job on me at my local Tractor Supply. Kinda dangerous, since I was just there yesterday and opened a charge account with them. I’m hoping this is all I’ve got to do today. Keeping me busy was nice of the office this week, but my mind has been on next week during a lot of it and this week flew by. I need to update my health insurance and I keep forgetting how to log in, I’ll have to take care of that today. I have some stuff I’d like to do at home, before next week starts.

I shoot my paint cans too, Dan, when they clog beyond my frustration. I’ve been pretty good at keeping old caps that are good or keeping them from clogging lately though.

Morning...
Up at 5:15 with Rambo following me out to eat and go outside. Boss slept in the living room near the ceramic heater. We have not had to fire up the propane heat yet. Even though it's in the 40s at night that ceramic heater keeps in nice in our small mobile home. I sleep way better in the cold with a blanket on me.
Headed to 70 today and even higher to as high as 80 Tuesday. No rain in sight until the end of next week. There will be alot of outdoor activity for me.

Mornin y’all.  Day three of my weird four day weekend.  The boat is gassed up.  The sun is shining.  The mullet are running.  My left arm is still messed up but I can’t find any hardy souls that want to go cast netting.  I know where there is some hard bottom though and I saw some Sheepshead in the river this week.  So I’m going hook and line fishing for sheepies.  But first I have to take the dogs for a walk.  That will require an air rifle.

Up at 0630 again. Have to pet sit starting at 1000hrs this morning through Sunday afternoon. It's going to be the 2 great danes and 4 goats.

Update...
I have a bargain gate scope out for delivery today so I went browsing my inventory for a candidate. I found the basket case Sentry which appears to have had the scope robbed for something else and took it to the Red Shed to prepare it to receive the new scope. I also topped it off with the CS3 compressor. Now I'm just waiting for breakfast to be ready and the mail lady to arrive.

I have that bolt assembly coming out of Canada.  The postal service says it will be here is 4 to 10 days.  How's that for a window?!?

Finish up the last of the chicken pen repair and build, wait on ups to get here with the air gun stuff, shift truck from fishing to hunting mode, round up all the hunting stuff that I use. Clean out and wash and light service on vehicles. Weather has warmed enough to be outside and not freeze.

My wife and I have some cans that are 30-40 years old (some I got from my dad's estate too) that just never got used and the ones I tried recently to use, even after shaking them for a long time they clog quickly while spraying, that old paint just has some solids that won't mix well now. On the bright side they make great reactive targets and I'll clear the shelves off too.

We live on top of a big rock… your winter gardening reminds me I need to put that tractor I got to use so my wife has a place set for planting in the Spring. I need to truck in some dirt and compost after I set some boundaries for raising a bed.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday, thank God!!! I got up around 0500, my alarm woke my wife at 0600. She said “thanks” and went back to bed. I have a Men’s Breakfast at 0800. I need to finish my coffee and get ready & get going. After the breakfast and fellowship, I need to take a buddy home and then get back to my house. My wife needs me to assemble the new electric fireplace cabinet she got for the living room. It’s supposed to get to about 70*, I need to probably do those gutters I meant to do a couple weeks ago. But, I’d sure like to shoot something today too. We’ll just have to see, maybe I can stay focused and fit it all in.
