Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I got up just before 0430, 0420-something. I’m finishing up my first cup o’Joe and I’ll have another. I don’t have a first job on me yet, I’ll have to wait until I call the office. The rain is done here, we got a good soaking the past few days. But the cold is setting in. I’m glad it’ll warm up a bit later in the week. I just don’t do funerals, that’s been my motto for nearly 20 years… but this time I have 2 next week that I really need to get to. I’m not looking forward to it, but I kind of wish it was this week. It’s caused me to do a lot of thinking and reflecting vs. deflecting, I suppose. And I suppose that’ll continue this week.

Up at 4:30 and put the coffee on. Boss and Rambo came out around 5, ate and went outside.
Looks like Greg's cool front is headed in today but no rain with it. No big plans for the day. Been thinking about shooting the Fortitude some. Maybe cast some pellets and if I feel froggy I might move the last of the log pile.

I hit the ground running this a.m.  Got to work at 0830 prepping boats and opening up the waterfront.  I was good and wore an ace bandage on my wrist and used a sling to hold my arm.  I let first mate tater tot handle the lines and drive the boat.  I just did the narration.  We're gonna have to come up with a new nickname for the kid.  He's almost ready to be a captain.  He wound the scow through the twisties like an old salt and stuck the landing first shot.  My plans for the rest of the day are to imbibe a certain amount of Irish whiskey and to reduce a portion of Mac Baren Navy Flake to the finest ash in my old Dunhill.

BTW Bill.  Your place is coming together.  That is some fine Redneck engineering there.

I woke up a few hours ago to a headache and the new tenant banging around down below. Managed to kinda sleep some more. Had a phone call from the Dr MRI scheduled for next Monday. Man that's too much activity for still being in bed.

Gonna have lunch with Jeff then pick up the large monster from school.

Mornin y’all.  Boats yesterday, late shift today, penalty box tomorrow. I got my truck back from the mechanic so I’m a bit happier.  I don’t have to drive the memsahib’s tiny econo box anymore!  I’ll try to take a walk around the permission before I go to work.  Right now I’m just waiting for my stomach to stop it’s usual morning nonsense.

Grabbed a shower then a 20oz of coffee and headed outside at daybreak. So nice to sit out there and watch the world wake up. Meantime "casting corner" was coming up to temp. I poured a 150 ct. batch of 217 20 RF pellets and put them in the tumbler. While that was going on I swapped out the Beeman 1358 on the shooting bench for the Fortitude in a Boyd's Nutmeg Rimfire stock. I shot 4 or 5 mags with it then wandered back outside.
With rain coming in a week or so I thought about my wood stack getting wet. I gaze around and spotted everything I needed to build a shelter roof over it. 2x4 to make a rectangle frame 65" x 2.5' fit between the trees. Enough of the leftover privacy fence slats from the side of the lean to for the roof. And a hunk of the chicken house tarp I used for the roll up door on the lean to for covering the roof.
Zippity Zap it was done in a snap.
Then I went over to Betty Lou's side of the property and move the 10' 2x8 picnic table near her clothes line so she could use it as a folding table. I'm thinking the Incredible Hulk designed and built that thing because I had to flip it onto it's top, drag it with the Kodiak atv then flip it back onto it's legs. Last year I tightened it up with a mess of 3" deck screws. Next I found a place in the atv path that looks like someone burned a trash pile. I saw a piece of glass and decided to rake and pick it up. The more I raked the more glass I uncovered. It wasn't long before compete glass bottles were exposing themselves. So I cleaned that until I had a hole deep enough to fill with dirt and cover it all back up
After that I went back to my perch to take a break.

I have so much on the list to do but very little motivation to get it done.  Just starting is the hard part.  Today is the second and last day of my weekend, I'm scheduled to work OT this week and today is the last day of clear skies according to the weather app.

Matt and I took a trip to Lowes so I could get some stuff to keep SWMBO happy.
Then We hit a Buffalo Wild Wings for a couple beers, good talk, and a quick lunch.
Was great to get together again after an unusually long time.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! I was dreaming hard when the alarm got me up at 0500. The power went out while I was sleeping. My wife will have to fix all the clocks on the appliances that don’t have backup power when she gets up. I woke up with dried drool in my beard, not sure what I was dreaming. The only thing I remember is my boss handed me a Browning High-Power 9mm when all heck broke loose and then the alarm. Oh well… I did wind up going to work yesterday, but not until 1230. This morning, of course, I don’t have anything yet. I’ll have to call the office. Today is Halloween, this evening we’ll take Ayrabella over to trunk-er-treat that’s happening at another one of our local Ch**ch’s.

Betty Lou got up with the dogs again this morning. I woke up as she was getting back in bed. We've been noticing sign of a mouse in the kitchen  and it's been driving her nuts. f she sees one single dropping she go crazy cleaning the entire kitchen. I've had a trap set for the past 2 nights and she said we scored last night.
Not much on the agenda today but I'm sure I'll find something to get into. I think we're about halfway to having all the leaves fall from the trees. This cold snap and spotting rain should finish them off. Then I can get busy blowing them out. I have a Stihl gas leaf blower that Killer left me when we went to the nursing home.
I have 1 final load of fire wood to move but my stack is full to the roof I put on so that will wait until I burn through some of it.

I am up, yes I am really up and slow moving. Pay bills, work in the garden some, clean up the mess I made in the yard yesterday chopping back the jungle. Nothing much else for the day.

I have killed some squirrels in the past month.  So today, I will cook a few and enjoy the cold weather we are having.

  My wife and I went to our daughter's house that lives about an hour away and got there at 5:43 PM yesterday had a good meal and time with them. We got home at about 10:00 PM.


  I got to sleep late slept 5 hour and 21 minutes, woke and got up. We had an overnight low of 46°F here and it is suppose to be a high of 83°F today. The 10 day is forecast here is low to mid 80'sF everyday with 0% chance of rain and humidity 7-43% with breezes up to as high as 8 mph peaks in the late afternoons a couple of days. I LOVE this weather with cool mornings and warm but not too hot afternoons!

Good afternoon y'all.  I'm stuck in the penalty box (ranger station) for the rest of the day.

However.  The memsahib is meeting me after work and we're going out for Peruvian food.  We're both big fans of Peruvian cuisine but we don't get to eat it often now that we have abandoned the big city.  Today is our Anniversary and we decided to do something special.  There's a new Peruvian place a couple of hours away so we're going to check it out.

The high point of the rest of today will be chopping up leaves with the mower for the compost pile.   Shooting will def be on the agenda.   Maybe a lot of shooting today.   Dog walking and picking up dog droppings.  Maybe cutting brush and pruning around the yard.   Grilling brats and porkchops in a few more hours.   I almost feel like I have ambitions today.
