My boss's dad was out weedeatin one day and took a piece of 12ga romex wire to the shin through a leather boot. It embedded its self into the bone.

Around here it's like that also but I keep the side of the spinning string that's moving away from me down while the side that's spinning towards me up. It throws everything away from me but sometimes it still hits my shins.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I got up by 0500, without my alarm this time. I’m finishing up my second cup o’Joe and I’ll get ready for work. I have an hour and a half ride to change out a compressor on a freezer.

Mornin y’all.  I’m actually assigned to drive boats today!  Not like the last few days where I’ve been filling in for absent coworkers. I looked at the schedule and Emo is my partner today! Bets he don’t show up?  Even though it means more work for me I sincerely hope he’s not around today.

I got a good nights sleep after being awake for 22 hours yesterday, 5 hours and 19 minutes sleep, so I am well rested now. According to my smart watch my heart rate did go up to 123 bpm while I was sleeping which is really strange. It normally stays below 95 bpm and my resting rate is usually between 57-71 bpm. I don't remember dreaming but I must have climbed a tall mountain fast or outrun a bear our something LOL.


  It must have misted or rain slightly in the night as the ground is damp, our temp is supposed to just get to 71°F today with a 15% chance of rain the next 6 hours.


  I have some mail to look at, bills to pay, and some paperwork to do today. Other than that I will probably just go with the flow today trying to relax mostly. My wife may have plans I don't know about yet that involves me.


  I may empty out my gun safes to thoroughly search them for the two missing pocket knives? I am about out of places to look and have looked most places twice but I have not emptied the gun safes completely so it makes sense to me to do that now. At this point I will be shocked if I find them, LOL, but probably will because I just bought duplicate replacements that are on their way now.

I am about out of places to look and have looked most places twice but I have not emptied the gun safes completely so it makes sense to me to do that now. At this point I will be shocked if I find them, LOL, but probably will because I just bought duplicate replacements that are on their way now.

Today’s plans are to straighten up the house, laundry,  hang with the kids (not sure what to do or where to go), pick up Mrs. P and her mom from the airport and drop her mom off at her place.  Come home and have an evening.  If it’s dry we will most likely enjoy an outdoor fire and possibly some hot cider.

It's only suppose to get to a high of 73 today so hopefully I can finish weed whacking the area west of the fence. I forgot I have some gaters that I used to wear when hunting. Hopefully they don't fall apart as the last time I used them was in the 90s 😂. They've been in my chest of drawers the whole time so....

As for working with immature children.. I was sure there was a sign out front of the plant I recently retired from that read... "Daycare, we'll even send them home with a paycheck".

I went into retirement just to get away from the "kindergarden" work ethic. I was not about to spend the rest of my career baby sitting.

They were Buck USA 181 Odyssey Lock Blades. It is my go to everyday knife.

Well, my OLD and I mean old gaters are working just fine. Bonus, all of the junk as described above isn't filling my shoes either 👍👍👍. I think I'll be great for chainsawing so my shoes don't get filled with wood chips 😡

Funny and I get it.    I often say that my pre-retirement job was babysitting adults.  Most of the time I enjoyed it and I really believe that I helped quite a few youngsters out and to become slightly more adult-like.   I was honored that so many would come to me when they had problems, personal as well as work related.   I'm pretty sure I was the "dad" at the company.   Although it bugged me when the babysitting was with the big boss.

I have a few BUCK Knives myself.  I have had the 110 on me for a few weeks now.  I rotate my daily carry knife every few weeks, sometimes daily. Never had the 181

Saw something in the news a while back that made me wonder about that.

I lucked out and my buddy Emo was late for work today.  The boss grabbed the first available ranger and told him to help me with the boats.  Turned out to be a good guy called Branch.  Emo got to take the late shift.  I had a great day on the river with a lot of wildlife making an appearance.  The boss decided he needed some time at the wheel and took my last boat so I snuck out early

I guess I don't get it. I mean riding around on a zero turn and driving boats up and down the river enjoying the wildlife and getting paid for it. Even with cleaning the occasional bathroom. How can someone not care about that job enough to risk getting canned over laziness.

Was that from some ^#(*% that couldn't be bothered to pick that scrap piece up off the ground after they cut the wire? I always pick up my scrap pieces to prevent anyone or any critter from getting messed up by it later on.
