Morning...
Been up and out already. I found a 7' length of 1" pvc down in the barn and drove some rebar in it to add weight. The I replaced the push broom handle I temporarily had in the hem of the roll up door on the lean to. It works so much better with the added weight in the pole. The 6" of pvc that sticks out both ends and rides up the framing of the door and acts as a guide. A 3" screw on each side in the top and bottom of the frame provides pins to lock the door up or down. I have used horse shoes in the past but a screw works just as good.
On to the next project.

I am making progress today. I came in to hydrate and cool off a bit and get my head net to keep the gnats away from my ears. This year has been the most "buggy" I have ever seen in this area. I have even seen 5 or 6 mosquitos. Really only the gnats have been very annoying and there are spider webs all over the place. I am clearing them out as I go and will spray to hopefully keep them away for a while.  Well, I better get back to it it's 82°F at 10:47 AM!

I got to work a t 8:40 this a.m. for a shift that starts at 9:00. Our temp, a kid we call "tater tot" was there before me drying the seats on the boats with a towel and helping me warm up the engines and do all the checks.  At 9:40 there was still no sign of the worthless "Emo" so I took the 9:40 boat out and I let tater tot drive while I did the narration.  Back at the dock an hour later and Cooter was running the waterfront office.  Said he hadn't seen any sign of Emo.  At 10:50 a.m. Emo strolls in as I'm getting ready for the 11:00 boat and says he needs to get off work at 3:30 because there's a college home football game in town and the traffic will be terrible if he leaves later.  Cooter and I both used a crud euphemism that cannot be posted here and told him to get to work and be grateful that he still had a job.  I told him that I  was taking the 11:00 boat out and that he could take the next one.  So the Joker disappears for an hour!  
As soon as I left the dock Coot got on his phone to the park manager and had a good long rant.

I hate to drop a dime on anyone.  I've got a few lifetimes of bad Karma to work off.  But this cat has got to go

  I know how frustrating it can be when someone doesn't think they need to follow the schedule, it makes it hard on all those that do show up. That entitled or apathetic attitude is the worst.


  A lady I worked with didn't come in because her mutt dog was having pups. The next time we were scheduled to work together right when she showed up I told her "I have to leave right away, I just got an emergency call from my wife that my dog is eating grass!" She got the point and became apologetic about leaving me with all her work that day she stayed home! The next four years she didn't miss once.

Thank you for the sympathy.  I try not to judge others but some people try you to the limit.  I feel sorry for this guy.  We’ve all bent over backwards hoping he would catch his snap but it’s pretty clear now that he’s a scammer.  He’s gonna get canned and he probably won’t understand why or learn from the experience.

Good morning... So it's 2:15 AM and apparently I am done sleeping for the night. I was planning to stay in bed until 3:45 AM but after waking up I couldn't go back to sleep, so I succumbed to my active brain at 2:00 AM and just got up. I was hoping for more restful sleep. 


  Oh well, I will go over my sermon notes a little extra and be ready.

Been up since 5am. Betty Lou heard the dogs and got up just before the blood began to flow to my brain. She fed them, started the coffee and let them out. I made my way back to the living and she went back to bed. The dogs came back in and went back to bed as well.
I haven't made and solid plans for the day but I'm sure they will include NASCAR and airguns.

Mornin Y'all.  Driving boats today.  it will be a nice break from all the maintenance I've been doing this week.  Unfortunately I'm paired with an employee we all refer to as "Emo".  This guy is the definition of clueless, entitled, millennial slacker.

Oh well.  If it's gonna be a bad day for me it's gonna be a worse day for him.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I got up around 0600 and I’m finishing up my coffee. This morning we have Sunday school and Ch**ch. This afternoon we have small group. I didn’t get any of the tasks done yesterday that I intended to do. I did shoot airguns though.     I think, after Ch**ch, I should take on the gutters. I have some corners that are leaking and today would be my only chance to get them cleaned and sealed before the rain comes this week.

Late start for us today, so dunno what we're doing.  Maybe a run to pick up some comestibles, but otherwise, a day to just relax.  We finished refinishing the patio furniture.  It was old black iron crusty rusty freebies and now it looks like a new set comprising 2 rockers, 4 captain's chairs, and a table.  These will likely see extensive use once we move to our Quonset, but that's not for a few months.

I may do some pressure washing; I may re-do electrical connections on the F-150, I may change the belt on the CR-V, and I may work on the 2100 pumper...  Or I may do nothing.

Cap, cleaning the bathrooms may be easy; but it is so very important to some folks!
Yesterday, while at the baseball park, I used the facilities.  The whole men's room was clean and well supplied.  I was very grateful, but didn't see anyone around to thank.  So, I will thank you for the job you do.  It doesn't go unnoticed.

Some kids are a pleasure to mentor and feel good about.   Some kids are hopeless but we gotta try even if it's painful.    Maybe that emo kid is the sheep that has gone astray and you are the shepherd.  Or maybe it's time to check the park keelhauling rules.

Good morning, the usual, then it's take on the yard. Mow grass and cut back stuff so I don't get slapped off the tractor. Clear out places for next years garden spots. Clear out a new shooting lane and set up a bait station for pest removal to reduce garden destruction. Just another lovely day in the jungle.

When I was a child, there was an Oak tree in our back yard.  Dad was moving and made a pass under that Oak.  On the next round, he had to stop because a large limb had fallen since his last pass.  He got off the mower, came in the house, and called a guy to come over and cut the tree down. 
Yep, need to keep thing in order so you don't get slapped off the tractor.

I wear my chainsaw chaps while string trimming.  Also a face mask and goggles.  I had a piece of broken glass ricochet into my eye a few years back. 

Well my powers of predicting the future are amazing.

This a.m. I predicted I'd be filling in for an absent Emo.  Yep, when I called 10-8 on the radio the boss came right back and told me I was in charge of the waterfront and closing the park tonight.  Emo called in sick.   Good riddance says I.  I called the temp staff together and doled out assignments.  We had all the boats covered and all the shifts too.  Everything ran like a watch.  At 4:30 I cut everybody but one temp loose, drove the 5:00 p.m. boat, gave the bathrooms a once over and called it a day.  Tomorrow I gotta be there way too early to take some researchers out on the river and then it's the regular four boat shedule.

I'm just wearing shorts with long socks. Weed wacked about a acre of weeds and grass. Never had anything hit my shins so that's good. Will go back out tomorrow and wack another acre or 2 but will probably be wearing jeans as it's only going to be in the low 70s.
