Mornin y'all.  A little sore from our paddling trip yesterday but it's all good.   This is the penultimate day of my monster vacation and I can look back over the last three weeks with satisfaction.  I ain't done squat and if possible I intend to do even less for the next two days.

As ya'll have noted above the weather has changed and it's time to load up the crab traps and cast nets and get down to the bay.

But it's a muscle pain from doing something fun not work and that's the best pain.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I got up off & on last night, Ayrabella isn’t feeling too good. She doesn’t have a fever, more like cold symptoms. I woke up at 0515 with her sleeping sitting up with her head rested on the coffee table, we camped out in the living room again. I gave her children’s Benadryl and we both laid back down to sleep until around 0800. We’re just hanging out until she feels better. I’m finishing up the last of the laundry, we might be able to shoot an airgun(s) later.

The 9th and the 13th are holidays for us, so I’m just lazying around.

My son, he’s still our baby, went with an immigrant, an Afghan who’s being retrained, although he’s already a pilot for FedEx.

Thanks Robert, she’s getting there. She ate dinner with me tonight. I’m hoping tomorrow she’ll get to feeling more normal.

Mornin y'all.   The pups got me up at 6:00.  I got the memsahib up about 8:30.  We've got to drive into Tallahassee and pick up the jeep we left at the hospital last night.  My elderly step father had a fall and my mom drove him to the ER.  It got late so she asked me to come drive them home when they released him. He's Okay.  Some scapes and bruises but nothing broken.  But we had to leave the Jeep there.  First order is breakfast, then exercise the pups, then head to town to retrieve the Jeep.  This is the last day of The Big Vacation ( ).  Stoppin off at the pharmacy for some a them good drugs! ( )  Then out to the sand quarry for some range time.

I think the plan for today is to pull the window ac unit out of the Red Shed. During the cooler mornings/nights I can fire up the propane wall unit and shoot out of that window instead of the 7' roll up door. There is a hole framed in another wall for a larger ac unit that had been boarded up. I think next year I will open it back up and frame it in for the smaller unit.

This morning it's repack the fishing gear and traps, work on the Hercules' trigger, I just about blistered my finger on the trigger yesterday, it has to be over 10lbs to be that hard to pull back, break out the lead pot and cast new ammo for it. Do the dreaded "L" word(laundry), no mail today because of the federal holiday, and anything else I can cram in that needs getting done.

I'm going to my PT session in an hour.  That lasts about an hour.  After that, I'll come back home and shoot a few pellets, I reckon.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I slept in until 0700 and started my coffee. Laid back down until Ayrabella got up about 0845. I guess she’s feeling a bit better, but still has a stuffy nose. She made me give her a Covid test last night, it’s not Covid. I gave her Dimetapp, that seems to help. No real plans for today or tomorrow. Hopefully, we can clean up the living room, I’d like to sleep in our own beds and get back to an earlier bed time. Probably just straighten up and shoot some airguns.

Dr appt this AM.  Gonna take Sean fishing if my wife doesn't first.  Need to turn a couple cell phones in at the mall (trade in).  Up at 0810.  Doing coffee at the moment.  Heading out in about 5 minutes.

I pulled the ac unit out of that window and put a shooting table at that window. I sat down with the Beeman 1358 to get a good picture of where to place the backstop and targets. I saw movement on the dead limbs we tossed over the fence from the trees we've been cutting down.
Bottom line, the very first shot I took out of the new shooting position was not a good thing for a chipmunk.

I always get the $1.50 hot dog and soda at Costco's fine dining aisle.  Best deal in town.

No, it landed outside the fence and I didn't recover it. We don't let the dogs eat them, I toss them up on the roof of the shed and let the birds have them when I can recover them.

They don't catch and release huh? I figured they'd get a few good chews in then release so the other dog could have fun with a few chews too before dad tossed it on the roof. Oh well there's always snakes.

No,, I'm pretty sure both would consume them completely and without knowing where the lead pellet went I don't think it's a good idea. I shoot critters that do damage to the property or wish to do harm to those of us who occupy this small hunk of Earth. I don't hunt for food or thrill kill. I do not distinguish between mosquitoes, spiders, snakes, mice, roaches, chipmunks, squirrels and birds that do damage. If they don't abide by the no trespassing signs they will be dealt with.

Up at 4:00 and put the coffee on. Rambo came out at around 4:30 asking if breakfast was ready yet. I handed him a menu and while he was deciding I put dog food in his bowl. He must not have appreciated it because he left my tip out in the front yard and it wasn't something I wanted to put in my pocket.. or on my shoe.
It looks like it's going to be an awesome day weather wise. I'm 'bout to jump in the shower and wash the night sweats off. Then I'll head out to the Red Shed and work on the new target location. It won't be long before darkness starts setting in at 5:30 pm and before. Ma Nature sure has a strange sense of humor. I have a double set of halogen work lights I can set out. I have a 100' construction cord with a weather proof outlet box on the end of. I'll string it in the trees and up off the ground.

Round 2 for fishing, everything loaded up, waiting on daylight and traffic to settle down some. It's a race track around here first thing in the morning.

Bill, my outdoor lighting is the HF solar lights placed in strategic locations, they stay on all the time at night and brighten up when the sensor is activated. They are off during the day and charging. Beats stringing electrical cord all over the place and becoming a trip hazard or worry about how to hang the cord. I installed a solar powered shop light over the fish cleaning table, bright enough to clean fish and not have to run wire to the shack. I have solar powered flood(flag pole) for the night time shoot stuff also.
