Ordered one of those Magic Magnetic Screen Doors for the back door leading out to the ramp from screen room we enclosed. It arrived today and I may hang it. It's a few inches bigger than the opening so I'll have to ponder the best way to hang it. It came with velcro and tacks but I'm going to use my Arrow stapler with 3/8" staples instead. I think the best way is to find the center of the header and start there. I'll fold the top and the and sides in to fit the opening. Then we have to teach Mutt and Jeff that they can just pass through.   
Boss will be a challenge because she scratches at the door when she wants in and she'll probably snag the screen. Rambo, on the other hand, will sit outside and whine until we open the screen for his punk arse.
It's that "old dogs and new tricks" thing.

I'm sure peanut butter sandwich cookies will be a part of the training.

Sometimes my work gets its better than my wife. I had an office boss I was having trouble with. My field boss told him, if he wanted to get along better “Leave John alone, don’t mess with him, just let him do his thing and stuff will get done better than anyone else”. When I heard that I felt respected. Sometimes a little respect goes a long way toward encouraging somebody.

I did get mess, about 5 lbs cleaned. Mullet, redfish, mangrove snapper, croaker, and sail cat. Mullet are just starting to roe, mostly boys, the girls are not far behind. The roe run is late this year, the weather has played a big factor in fish activity. Still haven't caught any trout, I am hoping this cold front coming it will cool things down a bit.

You know Kris, I always thought a sail cat was a dead cat on the road that had been ran over multiple times and been there for a few days. You can pick them up and throw them like a Frisbee and they just sail on the wind.😲🤣😂🤣

All good.  Mangrove Snapper are boney but tasty and croaker are as good as whiting IMO (grits n croakers).  One of the nice things about being a boat captain on the Wakulla is I get to see the trout and the sheepshead when they come inshore.  First good cold snap and we'll see specs "above the fence"  as we say here.  That's my signal to go trout fishing.  Thank you for the heads-up on the mullet.  I'm going cast netting in the next day or two.

Robert, when I worked for DOT, sail cats and road pizzas where a daily discussion on how to dispose them, my other job title was "road pizza scraper". The sail cat that I catch is a tasty "trash" fish, most people will not mess with them due to the amount of slime they produce when caught and most people don't know how to bleed them before tossing it in the cooler and remove the blood meat when cleaning. Just the 2 I caught produced 1 1/2 lbs. of meat.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I slept in until 0630. Ayrabella & I “camped out” in the living room. It was fun, but we have a mess to clean up. It’s only 42* outside, my weather apps both claim it’s 37*. It’s supposed to get to 63*-64* today. Real fall weather. We’re going to straighten up the living room and kitchen, wash & fold laundry and I have some Sunday school homework to do. We’ll try to stick to that plan, but I’m sure i would like to shoot an airgun and see if I can get my little shooting partner to join me. I’m sure she’d like to ride bikes today, as well. Seems I’ve got the day figured out, as long as we don’t get sidetracked and/or waste the day.

Mornin y'all.  I've organized a canoe trip on the upper Sopchoppy this morning.  I'll be meeting some folks at nine at the Oak Park bridge.  We'll put in there, paddle down to the Mount Bezor bridge and take out.  Several people asked me to put this trip together so I did.  Now it's early in the a.m. and I'm having problems getting motivated.

Oh well it will be better when we get on the water.

Have fun and a safe trip, Carter! I got Ayrabella a new bike a few days ago, so we’ve been riding together on our dirt road. She didn’t want a new bike, but she outgrew the one I got her last year, a 16” with a coaster brake. I had to convince her into a 20” with hand brakes, that it’d do better for her off pavement with bigger tires. Now she’s hooked. 
But, lately, perhaps by your influence, I’ve been thinking about getting us a canoe. We have lots of water around us, not far and pretty calm to get started. When I was much younger, I fished and traveled by canoe a lot. I need to consider a light, yet comfortable 3 person- seated canoe, so my wife can join us.

I hear ya Brother John. Betty Lou and I are not without sessions of head butting but we NEVER go to bed mad at each other. Ya just never know when ya might not wake up.

That's sure one great thing about being single with no dogs in the house is I can do as I please when I want to get around to it without any woman moods or any dogs causing any issues for me at all and it's very peaceful. I lived with dogs in my home most of my life and I'm enjoying the time off. Not that I didn't love them but they were all a PITA more times than I wanted.

Happy Sunday... my weekly "down day" to relax and recharge.
 Gonna finish puttin up "Boo Scary" decor.... Kinda funny when you think about it, no one will see it out here in the stix, but it's tradition since I was a boy.

I have always had a Dawg... can't stand life without one.
They do require some attention but the payback of devotion is a thousand fold.
When I had Covid she never left my side.

I was up at 0340 CDT this morning.  I finished up my project this morning. I custom fit a Pachmayr RP200 Sure Grip Rifle Recoil Pad 1/2" thickness to replace the hard plastic original one that came on my Diana D34.

Wowza, I actually have to put clothes and shoes on this morning, it's 55* outside here. I guess summer finally decided to pull the plug on the heater. Work chicken pens mostly, start rounding up the hunting stuff, squirrel opens next weekend and it's time to clean out my cousin's place. It will be kind of tough there because of the hurricane, it dropped a lot of trees on the his property. Just taking the day as it comes.

Mornin y'all.  A little sore from our paddling trip yesterday but it's all good.   This is the penultimate day of my monster vacation and I can look back over the last three weeks with satisfaction.  I ain't done squat and if possible I intend to do even less for the next two days.

As ya'll have noted above the weather has changed and it's time to load up the crab traps and cast nets and get down to the bay.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I got up off & on last night, Ayrabella isn’t feeling too good. She doesn’t have a fever, more like cold symptoms. I woke up at 0515 with her sleeping sitting up with her head rested on the coffee table, we camped out in the living room again. I gave her children’s Benadryl and we both laid back down to sleep until around 0800. We’re just hanging out until she feels better. I’m finishing up the last of the laundry, we might be able to shoot an airgun(s) later.
