Congratulations Wendell.  Me and the memsahib have #25 coming up in October.

Morning y'all.  I'm helping mom with one of her causes today.  We'll be representing the Friends of the Sopchoppy river at a big outdoors event at one of the bike trails.  Mom has just finished getting the town of Sopchoppy Trail Town status on the tourism register.

Working on small yard projects, just taking it easy for a change, enjoying the cooler weather.  Later on I will get the air cannons out and get them ready for hunting.

Currently doing my laundry.
Need to mow... and weed-eat... It's a jungle out there!
BUT need gas to do that, so we are heading to town soon.

Did laundry and got the mowing done yesterday but all the weed eating will be done tomorrow and not looking forward to all of that. Need more gas here too.

So glad mowing season is over for me. Over the winter I cant wait for spring to come to fire up those mowers, but two months after, it's already overwhelming for me.

Nascar is cued up, the happy pie is jarred up and resting, the beer is stocked and cold in the fridge, Betty Lou is just winding up her large pot of tater soup and Copper and Eddie are on the shooting bench ready for round one.

It is pretty moist here since yesterday with sprinkles off and on until about 8:00 AM. Mowing season is about started here now and will go a least through spring.


It is cloudy and 62°F at 11:30 AM. We are suppose to get up to 66°F but I am not sure it will make it today. Then it is supposed to warm up through the week with highs in the low 90's by Thursday.

I like your later plan that may result in feeling your best tomorrow, of course it may not happen (we never know), but at least it won't be your fault. I have never understood intentionally planning a hangover, why would anyone want to be hungover. Back when I did drink in the '80s, I was real good at avoiding hangovers, it requires forethought, self awareness, and self control but is worth the effort in my opinion.

Some of the things I post needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I don't drink anywhere near as much as one might think because of my postings. And when I do I rarely, if ever, drink enough to even feel any next day affects. Best I might suffer is a slight headache or bit more laziness than normal.
Some of you may already know that I am a grateful recovering addict. I got clean in 06 after spending several years at rock bottom... enough to be comfortable there. Even though alcohol wasn't my "drug of choice" it was a trigger. Spent a few years within the walls of the rooms of recovery. It was 7 years before I had enough confidence in myself to take a casual drink.
We always have beer in the fridge or a jug or 2 of "pie" on the shelf but it may be weeks between drinks.
Case in point... I had every intention of having a few beers and a sip of "pie" yesterday. Just changed my mind at the last minute. Betty Lou is the same way.

Mornin Y'all.  Got to get moving.  I have to make the hour's drive up to the city and do the weekly round of doctors, dentist, and pharmacy today.  My truck needs brakes and I've got to get all the parts to fix it.  And we're out of Rum!  Hopefully I'll find a few minutes to shoot an air rifle.

I had a whole bunch of bad habits when I bailed out of Babylon Bill.  I deliberately moved to a dry county to help.  Sadly it wasn't fortitude or will power that saved me but a bleeding ulcer and my allergies.  The ulcer wrecked my stomach so now I can barely tolerate booze.  My grain allergies have gotten worse and eating or drinking grain based foods or beverages causes major discomfort.  I love beer but it is a thing of the past now.  I don't want to talk about bread.

So when I drink I drink Rum.  One drink a day after the sun is over the yardarm.

That's one bad habit down.  Now to work on the rest.

I hear ya Carter.. I suppose we all have our skeletons in one form or another. As bad as some of our airgun addictions are, I reckon it's the lessor of some other evils. I've had an addictive personality since childhood. I never could eat one cookie, I had to have the whole dam box.

As I mentioned yesterday, the Beeman 1358 is the flavor of the day. I'll speak more on that in a more appropriate thread.
Oh BTW... I found that if you pull all your clothes off, the mods are less likely to follow you around.. well, most of them anyways.
