Good morning, doing better with the arthritis other than being gored by a rooster trying to break up a fight, believe me it's worse that 2 dogs fighting, ended up with an arm load of bandaids from the fastest legs in the crowed and no he didn't go in the freezer, he was one of my breeders. Mucked out the chicken coup, fix the door on another, feed the rest of the zoo. Mail run and bill pay, load up the truck and go fish this afternoon, tides are right for this spot just hope the weather cooperates. It has cooled down a little here so it's nice to be outside for a change.

roosters are tough and they can take a lickin'.  I've had to fend some off on occasion.  They sure can take a good swift kick and keep coming back.  It usually only happens two or three times until they get the picture.  😱😆

Luckily I don't have any flog mites in the crowd, those will end up in the freezer. Most of the time I can break up the party without getting nailed in the process, I just wasn't fast enough this time and the dominant one came in ninja style while I was scooping up the other one. Right arm has 4 holes and is a little swollen tonight. One hole maybe to the bone and yes I have all the medical supplies to take care of the dumb accidents. I will have a nasty bruise for a day or two as well. These are my free roaming yard boys and they have their own territories in my yard so on occasion one will mess up and get another upset and then it's game on. If you are a stranger, you will not make it to the front door. It's amazing at times that people can be so afraid of a 3lb. chicken. A cochin bantam chicken is a walking stick of dynamite.

This is a tame one.  Full size.  Our little bantam is a tough guy.  He has little man's syndrome! 😆😆😆

I have mostly bantams, a few standard, and a whole lot of mutts in the crowd. The mutts can be a combination of Silky, Cochin, Araucana, Orpington, and Red Leghorn. I use to get chickens from people that thought raising a few chickens would be easy and end up loosing most if not all their flock to predators and they didn't want to deal with it anymore. I quit that because of the risk of a disease infecting my flock. Now I just hatch my own to replace the mia's and old ones. If I need new genes I just order or buy local hatching eggs and go from there.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! I’m back at work, but it’s Hump Day already. I have a freezer to work on today, but not much else is going on. Tomorrow’s supposed to be a hard day, so I’ll take it as it comes today.

Mawnin y'all!  Gotta take the memsahib to see the quacks today.  While she is entertaining them I am going to the pharmacy and  then probably to one of the big box stores to buy a new string trimmer.  Depending on how much I get done I may swing by Academy Sports and Bass Pro to window shop a little.

I was supposed to go back to work after a three day weekend but I have an eye problem...  I (eye) just couldn't see myself going to work today so I stayed home.  😆 call it a mental health day...

So, as of the moment I'm sipping coffee by the fire.  Chill is in the air but it sunny out.  High today is projected at 74*.

I need to make progress on the metal carport/shed today.  I have the brackets and metal tapping screws to mount those on the uprights.  I also have a couple 4x4 post and cement to set for the gate and back wall.  If I can get those things accomplished and some general outside straightening up I'll feel good about having the day off. 

Yesterday we went out and shot PB guns.  We had a great time and lots of $$$ was blown into nowhere (just like July 4th).  After getting home, unloading the van and cleaning it out, I really had a strong desire to grab an airgun.  I love pulling a trigger but yesterday really cemented two things to me...

1. I really enjoy shooting powder pistols (I'm a horrible shot) and
2. I really prefer shooting air powered long guns over anything else

Shooting airguns in my backyard is just Soooooo relaxing to me.  Enjoy the day people! 💥 👊🏼

Going grocery shopping and stop by the bank to get a couple of rolls of quarters so I can refill the gallon containers with filtered water for the dogs and me. Maybe go down to our shooting range and shoot my C&B pistol and see where poi is compared to the sights.

I was up at 5:15 today.


I got to seat 5 in the Jury Box (almost), on my way to be seated the defense thanked and excused me.
I can only speculate as to why. So... I will    It is a stabbing murder case. In the questionnaire I did say I don't think mental illness excuses guilt of a crime but should only be considered in the punishment phase. Other potential Jurors that expressed similar opinions were all excused by the defense too.


 I do believe I would have been fair in determining guilt or innocence by the evidence.
 The other thing that was probably a factor is that I have quite a bit of experience dealing with mentally ill persons, which several others that did also were excused too.


 I also had a former church member that was stabbed to death by a mentally ill person, who stabbed him in the back at a rest stop bathroom as he was using the urinal.

Good morning GTA! Happy Thursday! I got up at 0500 by the alarm and I’m having coffee. I need to be at the job at 0700, we have a crane scheduled for 0800. I have a 200 lb. compressor that needs to fly to the roof for a package air conditioner to change out. I’ve got a helper from Oklahoma coming to help me. He’s only got one good eye, but he’s young and has a strong back.

I'd kick him hard enough he couldn't breed for at least a week where he'd not ever pull that a 2nd time. I'd show that little ^#(*% I don't put up with that out of any animal. If you don't show dominance they'll pull that again Kris because dominance is the only thing they respect.

Up 4 times last night cause the dog was barking.  First look was out the window.  Didn't see anything and she stopped so I went back to bed.  Second time I had a flashlight and pistol in hand and did a walk through the yard.  Nothing.  Third time it was the same thing with light and pistol in hand.  Found a coyote back by the garden and I was running through the yard barefoot making crazy noises chasing it off.  I stopped when we hit the tall grass in the back.  I was gaining on it actually.  Not sure what I would have done had I caught up to it or it turned on me.  I guess I would have had to make the decision if I wou,d pull the trigger or not?  Anyway, I made it through that one.  Fourth time out was the same but didn't see it.  It was quiet the rest of the night. 

I woke up 0425 five minutes before my alarm goes off.  Made the commute to work, fueled up, got coffee and a breakfast sandwich, dozed in my car until start time.  Crossed the street and robbed the city of another 8 hours of pay.  Stopped at Costco on the way home, swung by mom and pops to pick up one of the boys.  Headed home and headed out with Mrs. P.

I guess that was more like what I did not what I planned on doing however I did plan on all of that but wrote it down after the fact.  🙄🤪😆

Hello BrTd  not sure i got that right. I like your photo of the W77.,i think, as close to a Winchester 44 that you will get in an airgun. A couple of wounds from a roster is probably worth it for continued progeny . I am sure the old plainsmen thought that way. Those that didnt starved or went back to town .

I have to make a run to Troy for dogfood. I can't believe these dogs ate 44# of dogfood in a little over 2 weeks. No wonder they are fat and lazy and &^^& all over the place. Betty Lou and I had a "come to common ground" talk about that this morning.

I’m at work waiting for a site to open at 1000 hrs to close a work order that was fixed weeks ago. Not sure why they didn’t close the ticket, but this is all I’ve got to do today. Not sure what I’ll do after this, but I’ll head home and enjoy the cooler weather.
