I am doing my darnedest to not continue clearing the property of trees and under brush until later in the year when it's cool and a don't risk heat stroke. It's very hard not to get back out there.

Bill, I am having the same problem right now working on my property, still to hot for my liking to do yard work. I am just taking it easy today and work on small projects that don't require heavy, physical labor to complete.

I prefer to let it wait until winter if I can so I don't sweat or have a ton of bugs on me when I cut it all back. If I tried cutting my shrubs right now I'd get tagged by numerous wasp nests. Can't get to me in the winter.

I saw a young 6" long green anole lizard inside my home on my blinds so I got it on my hand and walked it outside and let it jump into a shrub. This is after I netted a big toad out of my pool. I'm a killer of squirrels and more but I don't kill everything I see. If I get a shot on the squirrel I saw hanging down in my pool today drinking out of it I'm taking it though! Never seen a nutter do that before ever!

I am glad to report no wasps were in the hedge! Last year a grandson got tagged buy one there in the carport.

I am up at 7:00 after 6 hours in bed, I was up from 4:00 AM yesterday until 1:00 AM this morning. Sipping on my coffee and planning on not much today. I will grill some steaks for lunch for the wife and I. Other than that I think we'll just go with the flow and see what the day yields today.


  Weeds do need mowing but... I am not feeling like doing that today. We'll see? Maybe??

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday- Happy Labor Day! I’ve been pretty lazy the past few days. Sleeping in and not doing much. I was supposed to get up early, but didn’t, I slept in until nearly 0900. I’m having coffee trying to get motivated. I need to put sharp blades on the mower, get the line trimming and mowing done today. We are dry, very very dry. It’s a little windy and for sure it’s going to be dusty. I’ve got a late start, but it’s only supposed to get to around 91* today. It looks like summer is coming to a close here, leaves are falling, but it’s because it’s so dry here, but the temperatures are dropping.

I heard a low knock at the door of the Red Shed and opened the door to find Boss... yes, she knocks when she wants in.
She came in and got a drink from the water bowl I keep filled with fresh dog water then she found her spot under my feet and laid down.
She's such a daddy's girl.

Yep! FMF Moto Cross. I've probably got 5-6 races recorded that I need to watch. Stopped watching pro motocross for here as it turned into a Lawrence Brothers show with Jet winning everything and his brother Hunter almost doing the same thing in the 250 class.

We are dry, very very dry. It’s a little windy and for sure it’s going to be dusty.

Same here even after another rain storm last night because of wind today and the storm was only a thin band so no box burning yet again after two storms now and I have a stack 7ft high to burn. Got a lot done today and wore out. Enjoyed some cold maple bourbin ham slices and a cold beer to help cool down after being in the heat. Ice packs on my body while resting in the recliner help too.

I'm off tomorrow and I plan to get moving early.  I'm taking my chronograph along with a selection of air rifles and PBs to the public shooting range in the national forest.  I don't go near that place often but I want to chronograph some PBs and I thought it would be a good opportunity to try some 100 yard shots with the air rifles.  After that I head into Coon Bottom to pay some bills and visit the pharmacy.  Then I'm going shopping for a new string trimmer.

Good morning, doing better with the arthritis other than being gored by a rooster trying to break up a fight, believe me it's worse that 2 dogs fighting, ended up with an arm load of bandaids from the fastest legs in the crowed and no he didn't go in the freezer, he was one of my breeders. Mucked out the chicken coup, fix the door on another, feed the rest of the zoo. Mail run and bill pay, load up the truck and go fish this afternoon, tides are right for this spot just hope the weather cooperates. It has cooled down a little here so it's nice to be outside for a change.

Up at 5:30 this morning and headed outside at daylight. I posted the story in the "what non airgun related" thread so I won't repeat it here.
I'll probably just head out to the Red Shed next and see what I can get into. It's headed for the mid 90's this afternoon so I'll take advantage of the A/C and fans in the shop.

It's called getting old John.😁🤣 Wife complains about it all of the time. "It takes me all day to do what I use to get done in a couple of hours."

I've got a few more trees to cut down that are dead. Will probably take the branches down to the burn pit in the meadow for burning when it's cooler. Going to cut the trunk and then thicker branches into fire place length and start storing it. Don't have a wood burning stove but may end up getting one if the propane gets to much high$.

It's still morning here for five more minutes.  Made it to the range.  Had a ball shooting all kinds of stuff.  Paid the bills and gassed up the truck but I decided to defer going into town until tomorrow.  The memsahib has to see the quacks so we'll make a day of it.
