Typical Friday plans- charge up all the Ego batteries, check chains on the saws, top off bar oil reservoirs.  Yup, gonna be in the woods tomorrow after cutting the fields.  It will be a relatively nice day, mid 80s with 50-60% RH instead of the high 90s plus 80+ % relative humidity of last weekend.  All the rain has likely washed out an access road that crosses our property but that's fine; we may do something about it and we may let the road go away.  Heh, we don't need that road since Sonja and I cut our own trail and can take the CR-V up and down without a problem.  Anything bigger won't make it- by design

Otherwise, I have work; more database stuff of course.  I enjoy my job, and grapevine news yesterday makes me want to stay past retirement-age of 59.5   Yeah, I know that's not "retirement age" but that's when I was planning on it.

Up @ 0600 to the alarm.  One of the boys is going to work on a project (build a shed) with a family friend.  I wanted to be up to be sure Christopher got up and prepared (16).  Right now is cappuccino and fire time.  Later I'll head over to pops place for pool then off to work.  I have tomorrow off work for Seans b-day (11).

7% RH.  Yikes, that is bone-bleaching dry. 

Last Saturday, it was only 95 or so, but humidity was north of 90%.  Take your pick: a little cooler but sopping wet, or a little warmer and so dry you can barely breath.

Sonja just got home; the 90 minute commute took 2 hours thanks to beach traffic.

I don't do very good in humidity. I've lived in the dry most of my life. The few times I've been in the humid part of the country I've really suffered. Okinawa was the Absolute worst I've ever been in. 100+ degrees and 95+% humidity. Landed in LAX in the summer people were walking around in shorts and just T shirts and were sweating the behind off. There I was freezing 🥶 with long pants and a jacket. Boy did I get some funny looks. 😁 Forgot to mention,no AC in Okinawa at the time either.

After coffee and oatmeal cookie, I mowed our dying yard. After that, I went back inside where the AC runs constantly.

It hit 104 in the shade at the boat staging area this afternoon.  Heat index was 117.  There was no relief out on the river but the critters didn't seem to mind.
I just kept putting one foot in front of the other and made it through the day.  Pretty beat now.

I drove at 70+ MPH through the CA desert today while it was 117°F according to my trucks outside temp indicator for about an hour, inside the cab AC did a great job. (when my wife wasn't shutting it off because she was cold)

When we went through Las Vegas it said 115°F

 Load up some airgun stuff, plan on heading to work to get the huge compost pile turned and ready for this years influx of rotten apples and pumpkins. Will be using the mini ex, and there are G-hog holes in the finished pile

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday!!! I’m on-call this weekend, but I’ve not gotten called out, yet. I’m not really feeling like doing much, though it is much cooler out than it has been. My problem the past few weeks really hasn’t been the heat, it’s stress and the type of work we’ve been doing. I need to hang on for a bit, so I can’t complain about it too much. But, it has been stressful. Stress and pain have been a constant this past year. I really just need to get past/through it. I won’t be doing this forever. I’m thinking about getting dressed and shooting something.

I was up early, 3:15 but went back to bed until 6:00. Plans are rest, stay inside and cool. At least the humidity is only 15%

Mine is dying too. Dry and dusty. Mowed a couple acres today myself.

 Was hotter than hades in the cab of the mini ex, needs a celling fan in it But I got the compost piles turned, and a Chipmunk safari in before a nice thunderstorm hit.
 Today I will decide if I need to mow the brown and green stuff people call a lawn, or just run amuck in the yard with airguns

Good morning, rain and lightning for the day. At least it will keep stuff cooled down for a minute. Not much else to do inside for house chores, so I will work on fishing lures to get that caught up. Just take it easy for the day.
