Man ya'll are ambitious!  I'm gonna try and avoid momma, the memsahib, and any manual labor today.  It's just too dang hot!

I'm reconditioning an old Trek 850 to give to a friend.  Might work on that some.  Gotta refill the 100lb propane tank and 'd like to catch another dozen or so catfish for a fish fry.  I'm taking it one step at a time.

oOh man, I'm jealous.

I had an 850 I picked up at a police auction; converted it into a single-speed mountain-bike-based road bike that weighed sub-20-pounds (front brake only).  I was shooting arrows with some friends and a very mis-aimed arrow went through an open shed door and impaled the top tube of my Trek as it hung from a J hook in the rafters      I still have all components, but the frame was ruined.  I miss that old bike as it had better geometry than a plain old road bike.  Better meaning the more stretched rear stays meant for a ginormous bunny hop and better handling with phat slicks for bombing the streets in Richmond.

Morning temperature was in the looowww 60s.  So today, I scratched one off the bucket list - I rode the bicycle out and back on Panther Creek Road.  Not as bad as my son had me believing.  Averaged 13.6 mph in the hilly terrane.
My #1 grandson had a mechanical on his bicycle.  I took a look at it and realized one of the idler pulleys on the rear derailleur came unfastened and go lost.  Of course, he had to push the bicycle home; and he wants it fixed today so he can ride this afternoon.  Nope - won't happen.  The derailleur will have to be ordered.
I plan to take the rest of the day off.  Oh, wait = I am retired.  Everyday is a day off - sort of.

Well I am back from my Cardiologist and overall went well. He does still want me to do the stress test within the next 6 weeks though. My total Cholesterol was excellent with 37 HDL, 36 LDL, 26 Triglycerides.    My blood pressure was on the high side of good though which is something to keep an eye on. My weight was exactly the same as it was last November, so I thought wrong about it being less today.


He also informed me that he will be retiring soon, which I would not begrudge him for, but means I will see a new Doc in six months. That appointment was made today. I really like him so he will be missed. We always talk about airguns every visit. He has some Sheridan .20's and is planning on teaching his grandkids to shoot them with some of his new free time.

Robert, the work is of my choosing now.  And today, I chose to work on getting over the mountains/hills.  I am including the route I took just because I want to.
The little store at the starting point also serves breakfast and lunch.  It was very busy when I left; and it was just as busy when I returned.
The Fried Tater, at the turnaround point, was not open yet.  My Judy and I have eaten there.  The roast beef sub is delicious.  But the name gives one the clue that the fried potatoes are of high priority.  They were very good and very abundant.  I mean, like the fries were really piled high.  I could not eat all that were on my plate. 
Little places like that are scattered all over the country around here.
And I almost forgot to mention that I saw 'Bigfoot' again today - twice!

Yay, the sun is shining right now. This morning is get the rest of the tomatoes in the freezer. Then it's clean up the yard again. I finally found a chip catching bag for the chipper/shredder so I can confine the ground up stuff to one place for compost. Build a sifter for the cement mixer so I don't have to do this by hand anymore. I don't mind doing it that way but if can speed up the process and save my hands and arms some wear and tear, I am all for it.

Sifter for cement mixer something like this I built a stand alone with motorcycle rims and hardware cloth as the sieve, pully reduction to 33 1/3 RPM lol , the fastest it can spin with out the material going for a grava-tron ride LOL I might have a pic somewhere, or take one if not, I want to rebuild now I have a new welder to make it trailer mounted.


 OK could not find one of it in operation, but took one of it in its next stage of glory on its rusty chariot

It takes a lot of dirt to fill them up, so I chip up brush to fill the bottom of them. I keep the 1/4 in. stuff for soil mixing and the bigger stuff goes in the pot. Since I have the tractor I can get these pots filled and moved around easier. 

So for today, taking a break from the yard and house chores and make my way to Marianna to drop off paper work and pick up so stuff. Work on some fishing lures and make some weighted hooks. If the weather is decent this afternoon go fishing.

Up at 5:00 AM today, not as early as I had planned/hoped for but pretty nice. It is 66°F, I have been sipping coffee and browsing the net, Oh and I shot a rabbit too as it was "casing" our strawberries.

Up at 4:30, Sonja headed to work at 5,...  I spent some time cleaning up a work area, then set up the TroyBilt for some work which will happen as free time appears throughout the day.

Plans later include a trip to TSC.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I’ve been gone for exactly a week, work and stuff is out of control. Especially work. This morning I need to go check on an older couple’s air conditioning. My wife met the lady who got her car into a ditch this past winter while it was raining real hard. I pulled her car out and my wife made friends with her. They bought a house about that time not far from us and she asked my wife to have me look at their ac system and tell her what she needs. I’ve told her I absolutely do not do side work. But, I’ll look at it and point them in the right direction, I hope. I need to get the trimming and mowing done afterwards. It’s been raining hard early in the mornings all week and then getting really hot and steamy. Today will be the same, but it started raining last night and shutoff a little earlier. I’m pretty tired, but I hope I can get these few things done at least.

Now that I'm back from a road trip, I have to get back to shooting.   I haven't shot anything, PB or AG, in almost 2 weeks.   I hope I remember how to do it.    Unfortunately I gotta open up the safes and dig out the guns I'll be shooting regularly.   I suppose I need to do a lot of mowing before the fun stuff.   My yard is almost a hay field after two weeks with plenty rain.   There's also a lot of gardening and  assorted yard cleanup to do.   I vaguely recall these tasks being simpler 40 years ago.   Well maybe I'll do a little tinkering and plinkering before the yard work.

Family Reunion today!
 I am actually a "step" but have been going since I was 5.
  My 3 cousins and I are now the "old guys" carrying on the tradition.
 I am the Gaming commission.
Corn hole, washer toss, Bocci ball, pickle ball, horseshoes, and tarp/sawdust for the littles "penny pitch are getting loaded in the truck.

Oh yeah, and believe it or not,  I am grilling.

Betty Lou got up with the dogs this morning and put the coffee on. Then she went back to bed. I got up a bit later, grabbed a cup and stepped into the new "hangout". Believe it or not, this area is going to get alot more use than the bar/mancave did. Mainly because it's an extension of the house rather than a separate building 300 or so feet away. Just open the door off the living room and step in.
I put the recorded Xfinity race on and sat down to the desktop PC.
