I was up at 4:30 AM today after resetting my alarm that went off at 4:00 AM.

Just had lunch and evening service starts at 5:00 PM, no plans for this afternoon...

It's Sunny and 86°F with 27% humidity and 10 mph WSW winds. The high is supposed to be 91°F

I have really been enjoying our weather but starting Thursday it is supposed to go triple digits. I "plan" on going to bed earlier and getting up before dawn so I can finish my coffee and get outside and beat the heat through the heat wave.

NWS is saying 102 next Saturday. 20% chance of rain tue and Wed but from what I've seen if it's only 20% it means no rain.

Well. . . . . . . the hurricane party is a tradition on this part of the Florida coast.  I've been to some doozies.  I'm a little too old for that now days but I still break out the "good stuff" when a big one heads this way.

Well I am home from evening service and the Watermelon snack after. I plan on trying to get to sleep around 9:30-10:00 but realistically it will probably be a little later. I want/plan to be getting up by 4:00 AM at the latest everyday  by the end of the week so I can take full advantage of the cool part of the day and still be in bed 5-6 hours a night. we will have great early morning temps on those HOT days.

Mawnin y'all.  It's my weekend!  I wouldn't pick up a stick to take a lick at a snake today.  Gonna go sit on the dock and watch the sun come up for a start.  We'll see if I gets ambitious after that.

Well I am not off to a good start with my plan, I was up until 11:00 and then either I didn't set my alarm or my wife shut it off when she came to bed. any way I woke at 4:40 AM without the alarm. Since I didn't have anywhere I had to be it's OK though. Today is supposed to get to 96°F with 17% humidity.  That is hotter than I like but at least it's only double digits.

I didn't check out my generators last week so I plan to get that done this morning just to be ready for an outage!

AC installed yesterday and that has made a big difference in the house. So with that done I can get the food prepping done without me cooking with the food. The tomatoes have finally made it past the summer barrage of insects and heat. I will have eggplant in another day or so and that will be added to the freezer as well. For now it's tomato sauce, tomato and peppers(hot) for soup stock, and fried green tomato fritters. Hopefully this weather will break this afternoon and can get potting soil made up and get some more stuff planted. Just enjoying the fruits of my labor.

It rained all night after several days of thunderstorms blowing through each day. No change coming in the future either.

Bill, I woke up to thunder this morning and it was raining at daylight. Not much I can do in the yard this morning, I will be lucky to get the chickens fed before it starts up again. It's helped to cool the house down that's about it.

Bill, I woke up to thunder this morning and it was raining at daylight. Not much I can do in the yard this morning, I will be lucky to get the chickens fed before it starts up again. It's helped to cool the house down that's about it.

Kris.. I would probably need a canoe to get to the mailbox. The biggest shocker to me is the fact that our power has not even blinked yet... I probably just jinxed myself..

This has been one of the best years for me as well, I need the rain in small amounts, not flooding and destruction. Bill, I can relate to the flooding part, I had one year were I had to start parking vehicles on the septic tank mound so I didn't have to put waders on to get to them. My garden is in nursery pots so if things get a little soggy around here I can get the stuff off the ground or to higher places in the yard which is again the septic tank mound and house platform. I had to build up the foundation for the house to get it above the septic tank so didn't have use a septic pump. The bottom of the house is 5 ft. above the rest of the yard. The worst part of all this rain will be the mosquitoes, they will bust out in a few days if this keeps up. As for power outages, that's normal around here, one thunderstorm will knock out half the county. It has gotten worse since the hurricane, still a lot of dead trees coming down. The last outage lasted 4 hours in this miserable heat a few days ago. I have a 5500w and a 650w generator to keep things going around here.

Well the bad luck just keeps coming. After the 2 flat tires, the serpentine belt now the kitchen sink isn't draining right. Up working on that until 2300hrs last night with no success.😡😡 Going to HD and pick up a snake and some green gobbler drain cleaner.

Yay, the sun is shining right now. This morning is get the rest of the tomatoes in the freezer. Then it's clean up the yard again. I finally found a chip catching bag for the chipper/shredder so I can confine the ground up stuff to one place for compost. Build a sifter for the cement mixer so I don't have to do this by hand anymore. I don't mind doing it that way but if can speed up the process and save my hands and arms some wear and tear, I am all for it.

I think Betty Lou has plans for us to take Boss to the nursing home to visit Killer today. I overheard her saying something to that affect on the phone to him. I know we need a milk, eggs and bread store run.

Sonja's out doing what she wanted to do: a dump run and applying horticultural vinegar to the spurge and false clover showing up everywhere.  I think she wants to go top off the tank on the Tahoe since she's got her 90 minute commute tomorrow and Friday, but we may run out to TSC after work so 2 birds with one stone.

I also need to get crackin' on the mowers.  My parts FINALLY came in for the Statesman.  I've been dreading working on the TroyBilt but it needs blades sharpened and possibly un-bent; I noticed a slight vibration last mowing, and it ain't the spindles or idler pulleys (I hope!).  I'll start work on both this afternoon.

Good morning, I ended up being up until 12:30 AM and I woke up at 6:00 AM I have a Cardiologist checkup appt. at 8:40 AM. I was suppose to do a treadmill test but had to cancel it because of my grandson's out of state wedding. He probably isn't going to happy about that. I think I weigh less than last visit and did get blood work done though so that should help smooth over the missed treadmill. He just wanted it because I haven't done one since getting the stent put in in 2017. I feel good and have been more active so.... we'll see!

Man ya'll are ambitious!  I'm gonna try and avoid momma, the memsahib, and any manual labor today.  It's just too dang hot!

I'm reconditioning an old Trek 850 to give to a friend.  Might work on that some.  Gotta refill the 100lb propane tank and 'd like to catch another dozen or so catfish for a fish fry.  I'm taking it one step at a time.
