What I didn't plan on is sitting in the ER with my wife who may have another kidney infection.

Thank you, Mike.  They didn't keep her but she is bedridden.  They prescribed some stronger antibiotics.  We'll see what the next few days will bring.

She's better off at home than in the hospital. Safer too. Hope the antibiotics kick it real quick. Make sure she takes all of the antibiotics even if she is feeling good. Also have her eat some vogert about half way between the meds. It will help her stomach tolerate the antibiotics better. Sometimes antibiotics kill all of the good bacteria in your digestive system which can lead to diarrhea.🤮🤢

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday!!! I got up around 0500. I am finishing up my coffee and I need to get going. I need to visit my chiropractor and then go round up some belts for some rooftop air conditioners down near Ft. Smith. It should be another hot one, especially on that roof. I hope everyone stays safe & cool. Greg, I hope Mrs. Gringo is feeling better.

Mornin y'all.  Working in the ranger station today.  I'd much rather be out on the beach shaking down drunks or hassling JD's.    NOT!

We call ranger station duty "the penalty box" and no one loves it.  I can't say that its any better in here with the AC than it is out there with the heat and humidity.

You just spend more time saying "NO" to all the dumb questions that are asked. I worked in 2 state parks many moons ago and it hasn't changed one bit, people on vacation turn into outright monsters. I would rather be on a mower than be stuck in the penalty box or cleaning bathrooms. One good thing about a fire tower, you have it all by yourself and what few visitors stop by are to afraid to climb it.

having a weakened immune system
having chronic kidney or liver disease
taking proton pump inhibitors (PPIs)
prior C. diff infection"

I had a case of it that almost took me out 7 years ago, caused by antibiotics (Clindamycin) prescribed by a dentist, be careful and YES have her take MEGA probiotics. C. diff infection is a killer (I've read for those over 65 about 11%) so don't wait and see if it happens, prevent it with mega probiotics.

Well I didn't go Juramentado on any visitors today so it's a win!

In just a few minutes I will be drifting down a near pitch dark river in a row boat to check my trot lines.  The temperature is in the mid eighties and it's humid but it's pleasant enough down here on the water.  Some big Gar are rolling just at the edge of the dock lights so there must be some shad or catfish around.  Pretty sure I saw a river otter as I was carrying my gear down to the dock.   I've got a little nip of Sexton single malt Irish whiskey in the tackle box and the old Dunhill is packed with some honey cavendish so I'm well equipped for the evenings endeavors.

The word Juramentado refers to crazy people in the PI who would run amok with their bolos and hack anyone.

We also have extremely abusive cops over their, so don’t ever be a smart aleck if you argue with one.

I salute them American cops for showing extreme restraint when dealing with people who really like to argue.

Our abusive cops cops (not all are but why take the chance) on the other hand are not that forgiving and will take your life like you are a mere bug.

It’s fortunate that a video was taken otherwise it’s another cover up in the making, with witnesses nowhere to be seen for fear of retaliation

Doubt if it is that way still today but when I was younger a "Bobby" was massive and full of muscle.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday!!! I slept in until 0600. It has been real hot this week and I’m going to try to take it easy… but I do have a few things I really need to do. I have a men’s breakfast at 0800, so I need to get going. I really need to do some line trimming when I get back. I’m going to hold off mowing until Tuesday morning. We have to work on Monday, but we’re off the 4th of July. My van is trashed from work this week, I need to straighten it up some. We’ll see how much I get done, maybe it can wait until Monday and straighten it up at work. My wife wants me to rebuild the outdoor spigots so she can use the backyard hose. I might do that instead of the van. I’d like to shoot some and eventually get in the pool, for sure.

Mornin y’all.  I’ll be doing the park ranger thing today.  It promises to be a zoo!  I start every 4th of July holiday with a little prayer.

I was up at 5am. Rambo got up with me, ate and went out. When he came back in I grabbed my 20oz. Bubba cup of coffee and headed for the Red Shed.
Learning some video editing software so I can make and post vids here.

Good morning, business as usual, trying not roast in this heat. Get the rest of the food prep stuff done and move some of the already made up stuff to the shop freezer. Waiting on the tomatoes ripen up and the okra to start blooming. Figs are starting to ripen up. Peppers are ready to pick. With this heat I won't start anything else until late August. I will have grapes this year so that's plus. Later on check mail for fishing stuff and junk mail.

We still have some indeterminates (spoon tomatoes and Cherokees I think) that are still setting but the rest have quit.  With the night time temps so high right now we are picking the last of the Better Boys green and ripening them in paper bags.  We have tomatillos this year and they seem to love the heat.  We will persevere with peas, beans, and okra until they burn up.
