Too much to do, so little time.  This thing called work gets in the way of so much livin....  Today is my last day of the weekend.

So far we have had coffee, oatmeal, reading time.  Thinking it's time to water plants around the house.  Need to replace the roof on one of the coops.  I have the bed of my truck loaded with some stuff that needs to go to the dump.  The second box of our outdoor furniture was delivered late yesterday so now that all of the pieces are here I'll have to assemble them.  In all honesty if it get those things done today I'll be feeling pretty good about my efforts.  So much more is on the list though...

The only thing completed on that list was assembling the furniture.  I did get some more wood moved and the grass cut around where the piles were but still have a couple more piles to move.  A coworker called tonight and wanted to borrow my trailer so that is now gone.  I guess I won't be moving anymore wood until that gets returned.  I've already got it in my head to skip work tomorrow.  I hate it when I get like that the night before.... it's hard to shake that feeling in the morning.  We shall see what becomes of it. 🙄🙄🙄

That was the worse thing when I was still working... getting past the urge to take the day off. And I hate to tell you this but, the closer you get to retirement the worse it gets.

We have a number of lazy neighbors who don't do a darn thing about the toxicodendron nastiness until they need a trip to ER (like the bozo who BURNED a bunch in his backyard burnbarrel while roasting marshmallows).  Birds propagate the urushiol-laden vegetation everywhere.  I am often baffled by how clueless people are.

No worse than some of the yo yos that I had to deal with when it comes to burning toxic vegetation, one of my smoke complaints was a man was burning Oleander in a burn barrel, killing him and the neighbors behind him with it. On top of that there where children's toys all over the place so that was probably covered in it's sap when he was cutting it away from the house. He did finally admit that he wasn't feeling to good being around the smoke. Yep, people are clueless when it comes to toxic vegetation.

Haaaaa! That’s what my neighbors and myself do mostly. We do look out for each other sort of, but we pretty much keep to ourselves too.

+1, never enough time. I try to multitask and that doesn’t always help. But, I always have more to get done than time to get it done. My job is service/trade related and it takes a lot out of you to get things done outside of that. On top of it all, I get calls from “friends” this time of year that think I have the time to come look at their air conditioning. I finally had to put a stop to that… the price of R22 sure has helped this year. I just had to tell a friend to get someone else and probably get a new system. It’d be cheaper on both of us. And I just don’t have time.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday!!! I got up at 0530 and have had 2 cups o’Joe… I filled my road cup but there’s still another cup in the pot. I believe I’ll go ahead and down that one before I get going. I have a pm (preventative maintenance) job waiting on me down in Ft. Smith, but it’s not a very big one. No filters or belts on the list, but I know they’ve got them. I’ll have to go on the roof and see what I need before I can do what needs doing. Should be a good day.

 Trash pump for the farms irrigation showed up at 3 yesterday at work, stayed late to get it all plumbed up and running, today is flush the drip lines and repair any over winter leaks, we have been lucky to get rain in the last week as much of the area has not.
 Along with that there is newly planted tree trellising, and drip irrigation to install there so the water wagon can get a rest.

The plan is to head to the Red Shed and get started cutting holes and prepping the repurposed cash box to a PID temp controller for the mold oven.

Good morning, clean up fishing gear, replace line if needed, run the outboard. Spent yesterday planting more garden stuff. Mowed most of the yard so that deed is done. Waiting on a pot full of strawberry to get done cooking and make some pancakes to dump them on. Then it's back to the retirement grind.

I was up until 3:30 AM (just not sleepy) I got up at 7:50 AM.
I need to finish my coffee and hit the yardwork. The high is suppose to be 71°F so that should be nice to work in.

John hopefully he brings the trailer back how he found it. I had a guy borrow my dump trailer and bring it back all filthy where I had to blow over an hour of my time cleaning out the power box, unbending a fender ect. Next time he asked to borrow it he got denied mighty quick like and he hasn't asked again so we both learned our lesson from each other.

Yep, both my trailers were damaged last time I loaned them put..  nope, nope, nope... not no more.
What I have now needs to last me the rest of my life, I worked very hard to get what I have.

My old neighbor when I was married to the ex (and lived southwest of Richmond, not straight east) used to borrow my tools on the regular.  He was El Salvadoran and got to experience some "stuff" as a kid growing up dealing with some bad elements down there.  The type of bad stuff that taught him how to field-strip, clean, and reassemble an AK-47.  Legit citizen of the US now and about as good a neighbor as I ever had.

Anyway, he always returned my tools in cleaner and more organized condition than when he borrowed them.  A couple times he threw in extra stuff, like a fresh pack of The Torch Sawzall blades, or the time he used my hammer drill and threw in some new Bosch SBS bits cuz he bent one.  Great neighbor and we stay in touch.   

Oddly enough, I've been doing a "long term borrow" of my brother-in-law's trailer.  I rerouted the wiring inside armored flexible conduit, replaced the deck boards, and put new tires on it.  He's already said he needs to let me borrow other things (he has almost no free time for long-term projects).   


My "maybe I'll get to it" plan already happened: the 30 seconds to swap Leshiy Classic barrels from 350mm .25 to 350mm .22    Of course, Sonja saw me lugging the bag that contains both EdGuns and her eyes lit up.  I foresee some EdGun action this evening.

I've learned not to lend tools, especially power tools.   Those who know how to use them, already own them.   The borrowers don't know or don't care how use them properly or take care of them.   At present I've got one AG out on loan and several PBs out on long term loan.   We'll see how that works out.

Loaned a dirt road drag to a neighbor because he had a shed being delivered the next day. I've had it for 19 years and use to drag my property when I lived in Lucerne valley. By the time I got it back it was all busted up.🤬😡🤬😡 Needless to say I won't have any thing to do with him again.

 It all depends on what and who I'll lend to.  There are few I trust and others I don't. Anything I loan has the potential of being broken.  It's only stuff. 

I always return things in as good or better than they were loaned to me, e.g., I fuel and wash my neighbors tractor each time I use it.  That's the least I can do.

 I a perfect world loaned items would always be returned in great shape or replaced with at least as good.
 
  I think I should not loan or borrow anything I am not willing/able to buy if something happens to it. There certainly are people I won't loan anything to again, bless their hearts.    I have been burned a few times, but not twice by the same person that I can remember?

When I worked construction, I found the people I could least trust with my tools were my own co-workers. 

I could loan tools to the drywall crew, steel-stud framers, painters, and electricians all day long and tools would come back neat and orderly.   I also caught 2 team-mates "accidentally" keeping tools of mine.  Neighbor-wise, I rarely lend out tools unless my rapport with said neighbor is such that I know tools will not be abused.  My father-in-law no longer loans out his stuff because he's had to go out and pick up a Kubota 4wd tractor with $5k in damage.  That's both impressive and alarming on a tractor purchased for $15k new.


Anyhoooooo...  Today's plans outside of the day job are to replace the busted window in the Element, get the Leshiy further dialed-in, and maybe if I get froggy, I'll pull the seat on the Ram 1500 and re-stuff the seat base and slip the new cover on.  I concur with what Bill said a couple days ago- the closer I get to retirement the more I feel like calling out.  We're still talking over 5 years
