Good morning GTA! Happy Friday!!! I got up at 0430. I’m going to visit my chiropractor this morning, I was out of town last week. I’ll get ready in a bit, after this second cup o’Joe. I have a freezer that needs repair after that. I have to pull out the refrigerant and replace the liquid injection valve and filter dryer. I’m hoping for a good day on that freezer and call this work week finished this afternoon.

Up at 5:30 with Rambo. He ate and went outside. Boss just came dragging out of the bedroom but she flopped her fat butt back down and went back to sleep at my feet.
I'm having coffee and making a plan for the day. Most likely just more of the same.

  I woke up just before 4:00 AM this morning, and feel well rested. I got to sleep just before 11:30 PM.
  I am not sure why but I like it, LOL.

  I am sure I will do some yardwork today, it is suppose to to partially cloudy and get to about 80° at the most with afternoon winds increasing hourly up to 9 or 10 mph at the peak.

 Before my trip to MO I put up my two favorite pocket knives and now I have not been able to find them. 
 I usually just keep them where I put my keys and wallet when not carrying one but decided to put them away somewhere before the trip so... I can't remember where, I spent a some time looking for them yesterday, it seems like they must be safe.   
 
Oh well, I am sure I will come across them sooner or later...

Good morning, going from garden mode to hurricane prep mode, just some gutter clean out and roof inspection. Then it's on to the chickens and prepping them for the hurricane season. I really don't get to worried this time of the year but with one brewing in the gulf it becomes a reality check around here. Just the joys of living along the gulf coast.

  Storms and all the bugs are the only things I dislike about Florida. Here in the summer I can ride the motorcycle all week before the windshield needs cleaning. Insect bites are really rare here in/near the desert region of So CA. We have our pests that are human size that sting us as much as they can though. 

  I will need to learn how to avoid mosquitos when I get moved to MO.

IMO Hurricane season is a form of Darwinism.  Natural selection in action.  Let the Rubes build on the barrier islands!  We'll scoop up the swag off the beach afterward (as true Floridians have always done) and get ready to fleece the next wave of suckers!

A positive attitude is important.  I don't own a thing I'd miss if it all blew away and it's all insured!

A guy down in Louisiana was beating the system with insurance on his hunting camp.  He actually lived there a little over six month each year.  About this time of the year he moved back inland and let the storms do what they could to the camp.  He would claim the damage/losses and rebuild.  The next year, the same story would play out again.
He had a nice camp!

I don't think I could play that game of "let's build on a sandbar".  Seems to me like a really good way to lose everything I've worked for.

Today's plans... Greet the plumber when he shows.  See if I can get Ruger (our toy aussie) to eat.  Clean up the bathroom after the plumber is done.  Do a dump-run.  Pack clothes, new tires, charge batteries, and fill up fuel cans- all for some work tomorrow.   

Tonight my in-laws are burning 2 large debris piles, some of the debris going back a decade.  I'm sure some Slivovic will magically appear, since we'll be eating dinner over there as well.

Peter, I see it here everyday, there are places here that have laid idle for over 30 years and in less than 8 months this past year houses have sprung up everywhere. The next one that comes in is going to level some rear for sure. Most of these places were under 8ft to 10ft and a 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile inshore from the last one. I have watched all this get filled in, covered up, and cut through. There are some out on the cape that are just dangling right now on the dunes and will eventually become a new trash reef.
