Well my oldest grandson joined the ranks of the "Married" yesterday. I officiated.  That is why I did not have time to check in yesterday.

It was busy leading up to it. His family, catered the food and that was hectic. So much to do, but they avoided glutton sickness. Half of the ovens at the venue didn't work,  but they pulled it off anyway.

I am always amazed how great all the food is when I visit my son's house that is glutton free. If he does not tell people that his food is glutton free nobody would ever guess it. It does cost him a lot more but fortunately for him he is blessed to have a great paying job and loves to cook too. His wife is also a great cook and they team up on it all.  Their oldest daughter is next, getting married in June and they are thinking about hiring it all out for her wedding to avoid some of the stress again.

Ch**ch this morning, I get to hear someone else preach today, and then hanging out with family.

I had to re read that one two... I thought he was referring to fat family members but I wasn't going to comment.

Cold wet day here, I had no  plans but found myself cleaning up in the basement, after removing a stack of broken down cardboard to put out in the wood shed for next fall, I found a room that really has no use but to store old paint  Might make a good gun vault with some climate control.
 Another thought would be a top secret work area 51 LOL Still need to solidify the paint or think of a better use while I watch the paint dry 

use the paint to paint your new gun room! 😎

There are many calming pastel colors to choose from, I will watch a Bob Ross Episode before I start

Mornin' Y'all

Just more of the same planned for today. Getting ready to head out and fire up the Red Shed for airgun related stuff.
Riley Blackwell says nice weather until Friday. We need to start enjoying that because it won't be long before that unrelenting heat comes around these parts.
Need to open the gate so the mail lady can get onto the property. I have a package coming today that needs signed for.
Nascar was postponed until 11am today due to rain. I have it set to record and I'll watch that later.

Update:  I was just checking out the national weather... rain possible in Dover again today.
I wonder what happened to the plans to run in the rain on tracks 1 mile or smaller?

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I slept in until 0530. I have a PM today with one unit on the roof. I was supposed to be training a new guy. But, I didn’t hear anything about coordinating with anyone. So, I’m going to finish up my coffee and get going. I’ll pick up filters and a belt and call in to see what’s going on with that. If I don’t have to train the new guy, I’m good with that.

Good morning, nice and cool here and no rain for a few days. One vehicle is fixed and started working on another, mow grass, plant some more veggies, and anything else I can cram in for the day.

During lunch and after work, I'll be working on my Statesman riding mower.  I may had killed it, or I may have knocked some wires loose.  I had some misadventures over the weekend using it, and the steering needs some fixing.

Otherwise, standard work day.   I've been looking at plans for home-made box graders and land-planes; only instead of using a tractor, we'll likely use our CR-V.  It already gets used like a tractor on a regular basis, so why not?

Up after 6 hours sleep 

Well 4.5 restful which is a personal best for a long time as far as I know. I have been wearing my son's extra smart watch since Friday and I have had 2.25 and 3.3 hours of restful sleep the other nights with total sleep of 4-6 hours. The watch confirmed what I already knew, that it is pain waking me to find a more comfortable position. My heart rate looks fine, 55 bpm resting and 66-73 bpm normal with 87 bpm as my three day high.

My son had to go out of state for work so we are going out for breakfast at 10:00 AM, no real plans today that I am aware of.

I may mow his 5 acres for him?

Not really planned for but looked over to the West and just outside the fence I seen a bunch of Fox tails growing and with 8 dogs that's a big red flag. So I drug out the line trimmer which hasn't been started since last October and knocked them all down. NOT looking forward to the rest of the season as I have 5 acres that I have to line time down as a lawn mower wouldn't last 10 seconds in my yard.

Up at 5am. Dogs fed and let out. Made coffee and everyone else went back to bed.
Getting ready to head out and fire up the Red Shed. I think today will be more of a shooting day than a casting day.
Betty Lou spent most of yesterday in her hot house transplanting veggies. She's got some good looking stuff going on in there. I think she's just doing tomatoes, peppers and green onions this go around. I think she's doing it as a hobby type thing for something to do. But, she's enjoying it so I'm good.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! I got up around 0445 and I’ve had my 2 cups o’Joe. I’ll pour the rest in my big ol’ 2-go cup. I’m getting ready to head out to work. I have a huge PM to do, change a bunch of belts and wash condenser coils. I’ve never done this one before, someone else must change the filters. I was supposed to be training the new guy, but his van’s not ready. We have a new fleet service, but I haven’t got my fleet card yet, I really need an oil change. I’m thinking about trying to get it done anyway, on the way out. If I do, I might request a different PM for today and save this one to do with the new guy.

Good Morning GTA, I was up at 6:00 today and we plan on heading to KY today to see the replica of Noah's Ark tomorrow then back to MO on Thursday. It is 580 miles from our son's place where we are. My son and his wife have work and the grandkids have school so that'll keep us occupied.

I am drinking coffee and internet surfing as I wait for everyone else to get up and around.

Mornin Y'all!  My JD Z-Trac zero turn mower is back from the shop and I've got beaucoup mowing to do!  I'll be training our newest ranger.  She will be handling the string trimming and stick edging.  I'll be riding the mower for a change.  Gonna be fun today!

I know how you feel about mowing.  Yard work here is leisure time activities and therapy for me.  Training - well, that is what I did for over 30 years.  I will pass on the training part.

We have acres and acres of picnic areas, landscaped lawns, paths, and road sides that have to be maintained in the park.  It takes me days to mow it all.  Now that the growing season is here every minute I'm not driving a boat I'll be riding a mower all summer long!
Don't get me wrong.  I love to mow.  At work.  At home the the Husqvarna belongs to the memsahib!

Got an appointment with the Safelite tech today to get my cracked down the middle windshield replaced. The tech might be able to tell me why it cracked as I still can't figure it out.

Day-job stuff until 5.  Lunchtime and maybe after work, pulling the steering off my Statesman riding mower to see if I can get the excessive play/slop under control.  I got it running properly last night, though I'm replacing the ignition switch and solenoid since they're original from the early 90s, corroded, and work intermittently at best.

I also have a fireplace that I'm sort-of stripping paint from.  Had to resort to a chemical stripper but the brick is old and porous, and I think long term I'll be re-painting it with high-temp paint.  But first I have to remove what I can.

Somewhere along the way I also need to cut the back yard.  Our front is hardscaping and herb gardens, so it's easy to manage.
