I noticed this morning Zoey's eyes had the "blue" tint... being a rescue dog we have no real idea of her age... but with that and her face turning grey I think she is older that we estimated.
Still a fireball tho. Crazy as an Out-house Rat at times.

You'd rather not even read about mowing. Are you having a guilty conscious.         

It does look like Bill, Scott, and I could start a "broke the mower" thread. Hopefully that is all past history now though, and not in anyone's plans for the day.

Hi Scott.... yes we have a new Pooch.

We got the dog last December.
He was my Christmas present to my wife.
JoAnne named him Rusty.
He is a Red Phase - Golden Doodle crossbreed.
He is a fire ball with no off switch.
I think he will make a good hunter.
He has a high prey drive and an excellent nose.

Oh, did someone mention mowing?  Funny, I'm just waiting for Betty Lou to get it all stuffed in one sock so we can go get the oil change supplies..
If it's any help, I'm we're gonna stop and pick up a metal strainer baskets to shake the swarf out of my pellets after tumbling.
Might even pick up a few things from the local grocer.

Mornin Y'all!  The memsahib was feeling poorly yesterday so SHE LET ME MOW THE YARD!  The Husky LGT2654 has been hers since I brought it home ten years ago.  Flash has found most of the golf balls but there's still a couple of tons of nuts, bolts, and hunks of scrap metal hidden in the long grass.  It's impossible to mow here without hitting some.  The previous owner of this property used it as a junk yard and while we have hauled off most of the the wrecked cars, boats, household appliances and what have you we kept the best for yard decor.

You’re probably right, Carter… though, you might not have much to say there… except, mocking the lawn manicurists… hee hee! 

If we did that we'd have to start a 'driving a boat, getting a buzz and gardening'. thread.  LOL

I did have one neighbor tell me they thought our place was abandoned it looked so bad.  Another thanked the memsahib for mowing once.  Said he always wondered if the car on blocks way in the back was a Plymouth or a Mercury.

I put the pneumatic tires on the back of my push mower last night and gave it a go.  Rolls REALLY nice.  Puts the big-plastic-wheel mowers to shame!  A mower thread would be fun since it seems a lot of us have experiences with them (both good and bad!).  Dunno if anybody else does the conversions like me to pneumatic tires, but it makes so much of a difference I'm going to change out the front plastic wheels to tires as well.

Today we did some running around first thing.  I changed the closure piston on the front storm door and now the door doesn't slam shut.  Also tidied up, hung a pendant light, and sharpened some cutlery.  Sonja prepped 2 racks of ribs and now they're in the smoker.  We invited her folks and sister+bro-in-law, and they invited his mother.  I suspect some other randoms will show up as well so we need to make a beer run shortly.  And, gut feeling tells me I need to make some pico de gallo, so we're gonna more than beer. 

I considered working on my F-150; still haven't replaced the motor mounts or fabricated a bracket to secure the passenger side of the dash (stupid Ford used plastic tabs that were not UV-stabilized...).  But I'm just not feeling it.

Yeah, I'm up.  0645 was the first time I looked at the time.  Didn't get out of bed until 0745.  Back was aching and it feels better when I get up and start moving.  I have had breakfast and coffee already, read and worked on a Bible study lesson.  Now I'm procrastinating about getting motivated to start working around here.  I sort of have to wait until around noon to get started on the inside stuff.  Until then I should go outside and continue cleaning up the yard from the impact of making two trees into fire wood.  I should start a burn pile too.  Maybe I'll get some cleanup done and start a fire then grab an air rifle and "tend" the fire while I shoot.  Safety first 😎

Fired up and baked off. The lava rock really "popped" for a while.

Next, tonight is a wedding and then reception of a friends Daughter we have known since she was in diapers.
Rumor has it I am going to meet up with an old friend "Bam-Bam".... the Deuce-and-a-half Smoker.

The dog is taller but they are both around 23 lbs. in weight.

He has got big claws that match his big teeth.

The vet says that Bonbays were bread to resemble, walk and act like a leopard.

Mine does that real good.

The cat has been around the dog since the dog was very young and... is real protective of the dog.
If they are just playing around.... then the dog wins the battles.
If the cat gets tired of all the dog's nonsense and wants to be left alone, he lets out a low but loud growl... then the dog backs off... real quick.
The cat is big, very strong and very quick.
They are best buddies.


In the picture you can see the cat's claws... but they are basically retracted.
When he has them fully extended they are quite a bit bigger and longer.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! We had a blast yesterday and wore ourselves out. We didn’t get back home until 2100, but I still got up at 0515. I’m having coffee, but the girls will most probably sleep in. No real plans for today, except recovery from yesterday. I’ll likely shoot something later on and watch the races even later still.
