Just one of those things not included in the daily plan but always an option...Betty Lou had the dogs out for a walk-a-bout. It wasn't long and they came in the house huffing and puffing.... SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE.. So I grabbed the stand by Maverick 12ga. , locked the dogs in the house and grabbed my Elmer Fudd hat.Yep,up at the north end of the property sunning under the grape vines next the swamp laid a Moc... pretty good size one too... glad it was Rambo that spotted it and not Boss. Rambo sounds the alarm and backs off... Boss is stupid.. she goes into attack mode. From about 5' I cranked one into the chamber and let 'er rip. He was coiled and got blowed into 5 hunks greasy, grimy snake guts... his head was nowhere to be found... I really don't think there was any head left to find. So, Rambo got a cookie and an atta boy for the day.
And what did Bill get for the fine shooting?
I woke to the sound of birds singing the last couple of days, but here's what it looks like right now in my neck of the woods...
Gee Whiz Bob, I can relate to your pictures.I don't expect to hear any song birds until May.That's pretty much what has been going on around my area in Minnesota since the second week of November.More snow is due here Thursday night and Friday. With an normal average winter snowfall of around 45 inches, this year I've gotten around 93 inches of snow and still more to come.Best Wishes - Tom
You folks with the big snow... I miss 4 seasons, but a point comes when enough is enough. Here in VA we have 2 seasons, Summer and non-Summer.
