Up at 5am.  Taking Mrs. P and the three youngest to the airport in a few.   They are on their way to Flarda to visit a granny and do some tourist activities.  I was going to stay back and make a small fortune in OT at work but I decided to take a mini vacation and hopefully get some things done (at least started) around the house.

I need a mini-vacation, too, Brett… I think I’m going to put in for a 5 day weekend.

I'm home now.  I played some pool, loaded laundry in the dryer and the wash.  Wiped down a side table where I am now sitting while I surf, eat cookies and think about my next step which will be dishes left in the sink. We don't usually leave dishes in the sink but we did.  It's 35 degrees out so I'm having a hard time getting too excited to work out there.  I'm sure after a couple more cookies I'll get motivated...😆

Ran out for milk, bread and dog food. The nursing home is on the way and Betty Lou told me we had 2 missed calls from Killer so we stopped in for a visit and to see if he needed anything. His sister had recently dropped off a load of goodies so he didn't need anything.
He was in excellent spirits and was happy to see us. We spent about 30 minutes with him and then on to the store.

Wonder wife broke her gold crucifix necklace so she's buying a new one today.   Jewelry store is right next to a gun store.   Guess I'll go with her.

Land clearing this morning and plant fruit trees, mail run to pick up gun case, cast ammo for guns, and anything else that needs to be addressed. Yeah, I hit the ground running this morning, that may not be the case in the morning.

Excellent!  Now bust out all the chores BEFORE you start vacation.  I always seem to wait until vacation starts to work on the chores.  I should follow my own advice 🙄😬😆

Since I'm basically home alone until Wednesday next week you all may be seeing a lot of play by play updates of my day during that time.  🤪

So far I did the dishes, pulled out the kitchen stove and cleaned behind it and wiped it down.  Vacuumed a couple rooms, made coffee and I'm here surfing again with the cat on my lap. I'll be swapping laundry soon and folding it.  By that time I'll probably head out and continue on building some shelves/cabinets for the shop.  I may invite pops over and see if he wants to play a few games of pool then get started on tearing it down to change out the bumpers and the cloth.

 I'm out and about the fenced part of the property checking trees for broken branches from the last foot of snow we got. So far only found 4 but have at least another 3 acres to check.

He's my wife's replacement service dog if she ever gets busy training him. The name is from a willy Nelson song me and Paul.

That’s awesome. I have a buddy that has 3 dogs, 2 of them with regular K9 names and the one I remember is named “Jason”. People names for pets crack me up, for real.

I had 2 dachshunds named Katie and Heidi. My wife's retired service dog is Gracie. Our other golden is Toby Keith. We do have 1 named furbar who is pure bread mutt.😁 In fact the dog on my lap in my avatar is Katie.

Robert, we were 'foster owners' of a look-alike to your Katie.  Her name was Sallie.  Her original owner could no longer keep her at the apartment where she lived; and my son sort of adopted Sallie.  He kept her until his landlord found out.  That is how she came to live with us for a while.  Friends who had a dachshund wanted Sallie so their dog would have a pal.  Sallie lived the rest of her life with our friends.  We were welcome to visit Sallie whenever we wanted.  When we got there, and she came running over, she always pee from the excitement of see us again. 
I think my Judy [who admits she is not a dog person] loved Sallie almost as much as I did.

Her and her sisters and brothers were left orphans when their mom died 3 days after giving birth so my wife and I mostly I bottle fed the 6 surviving puppies. It was like having sextuplets with all the bottle feedings every 3-4 hours. I can tell you, that right there is the reason youngins have children and not old foggies like me.😂😂😂 I got to tell you, it was the hardest thing when she was put down because of cancer. Katie is the top one and Heidi is the bottom 1.

Some form of rain is expected for the next few days so I jumped on the mower yesterday afternoon and got it done. I wore glasses and a mask because I have some nasty alergies.
Then sat with Betty Lou and the dogs on the mancave deck and had a couple cold beers while enjoying my work and swatting bore bees with matmitton rackets. They are out early this year.

As for dog names...
Rambo was named by some of the employees of my former workplace. He was a stray and survived on his own in the woods across the road from the plant for more than a year before Betty Lou and I invited him to our home. He didn't make many friends and was quite sketchy and stand offish with most.
Boss was Killer's dog and named by him. He got her as a pup to replace his previous American Bulldog of 17 years... Kel Kel. We inherited her when Killer went to the nursing home and we took over this property. It's kinda like she came with the package. Killer's sister tried to keep her but she kept running away from her place.. she just wanted to come home.

 Dig out my .30 Challenger, and 9mm Recluse, to check zero, and be ready for coyote hunt on a new permission by Sherwood WI this weekend if weather cooperates.

Planting and fencing in the garden.  Might run to town later when I get a shopping list together.  Might run a trot line for catfish later this evening.

When I'm working in the garden the 2100 or one of the 1400's is always handy.
