Good morning GTA! Wishing a glorious Sunday to everyone. Covid has picked back up here, numerous friends have it, some over a week so since Pam sits 3 days a week with her 94 yo aunt we are streaming church today and attending our Bible fellowship class through ZOOM. 

This afternoon hopefully I'll get some more shooting in. Yesterday I updated a range card for my HW50 .22 since I moved the zero to 30 yds.

 I enjoy shooting at various distances, varying the targets while using holdover and holdunder.

Thank you Scott for reviving a memory. I never got into the fly tying hobby but my father did when I was a child. I would watch him tying numerous flies. He had three or four rods and many reels. it was a good memory to bring back.

WooHoo... got the first mow of the season done.
I am amazed at how fast the grass went from brown to green and then tall enough to mow.. like 2 days ago it was still 50% brown.
I suppose I've opened the proverbial flood gates now.

Can't figure out why my right hand is so swollen. Yesterday it was just my right pinky finger and now it's my whole hand.

Robert have you recently been stuck by a briar or thorn? A couple of years ago I had a big vine with nail sized thorns stick me. My finger... then my hand swelled up. I opened up the wound poured hydrogen peroxide on it and started myself on antihistamines.  The swelling went down in a day or so.

I think it's from raking the snow off the roof. That was a lot of work and I probably just stirred up the arthritis in my hands. I hold out my hand and my pinky finger juts out away from the other fingers which it's done since yesterday. Besides, I-40 is closed again and that's the only way to get to the doctor.

It's arthritis Robert, I go through that a lot when I do repetitive things with my hands. I have days where I can't even see my knuckles and my fingers are very stiff. I have learned to live with that mess and adapt when needed. Just the joys of getting old.

Got some shade offen the ground!  Burn team today.  We burned about thirty acres.  Because I'm technically on "light duty" I was PIO today.  Didn't stop me from doing some igniting!  I ran a drip torch for a couple of hours pouring burn mix on wet duff..  Once the clouds burned off and some of the one hour fuels started to dry we got some fire activity.   Mostly it just skunked around.  I'm a big guy so I usually end up igniting interior cause I can bust brush and didimau mos coshe when SHTF.  I was plowing through wait-a-minute vine and saplings,  stringing fire with a Panama torch.  Just pouring diesel on the ground cause this stuff was just too wet to burn.  Occasionally I'd hit a patch of pine straw or a big clump of palmetto and things would pick up but I doubt we got more than 20% consumption.

Anyhoo. . . . .   The worst day burnin beats just about any day doin anything else so it was a win!

I was up late last night so when my 4:00 alarm went off I reset it for 5:00 AM.
 When I got up at 5:00 AM I noticed my Great Dane was not in the house so I went to let him in before he started barking and discovered the backyard gate open and he was not on the 5 acres  So I drove around for 40 minutes looking for and calling him. when I gave up and came back home he followed me back up the driveway. I am not sure where he went. He covers ground very fast though at a trot. I am glad he is back safely and really need to do better on making sure the carabiner clips are on the gates.

We had very low nearby snow last night on three sides. Most of the previous had melted (all but the higher eastern snow) so this was new snowfall. It's getting closer....

Beyond the range in the third pic is Temecula Wine Country If they didn't get some snowfall it just missed.

LOL!  I'm forwarding that one to the boss!  I'm considered an artist with a Panama torch and I can easily toss fire 20' with one but that's a whole nuther order of magnitude!

There's a fella (I'm sure Kris knows him ) down near Kissimee has got one like that one.  I believe they use it for lighting sawgrass.  We were burning a mixture of grassy pine flatwoods and hardwood/floodplain.  Wet live oak leaves don't burn for squat.  Even with a flame thrower.
