Just went and got 1000 gallons of water. The storage tanks were getting kind of low and 125 or 210 gallons at a time was just not cutting it. We now have enough to last us until the next time the dirt roads are dried out enough to take the water trailer on them again.

It's Crappie fishing time!

This is such a great time of year for Crappie (Sac-a-Lait) fishing - big/heavy fish, no bugs, and only a few other fishermen to compete with.  I really enjoyed fishing the Atchafalaya Basin during the winter months.

Every time I cross the Atchafalya I think "Man that looks like paradise!"  One day I'll get to spend some time there.

Fishing trip went well.  Three crappie and five shell cracker bream in the live well.  Momma will be happy!

There's enough daylight left to hit the woods for a spell so I'm gone huntin!

I heard on the radio today that locally Thursday the snow is expected to get down to 1,000. If true, we will have some at my place for sure. Right now we are having 25-27mph winds and rain. It is snowing 2 miles away, we'll see if it sticks?

 I am going to bed now and turn the radio on so I won't just lay there and listen to the wind hopefully.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! I got up at 0500 CST. I took Chillie outside and had 2 cups o’Joe… now she’s all wired up about playing and I’m trying to get ready for work. I have 2 more sites to do HVAC surveys on. One is about an hour south, the other is about another 45 minutes south of that one.

Woke up to snow. Just about an inch but checked the recorded weather and we had a gust hit 62 mph.

Already 77* here, started on one project and ended up fixing multiple disasters in the process, so today it's back to the one project and hopefully it will not produce any more disasters. I am hoping by the end of the week I can spend some time with the Hercules.

Well, the I40 is a mess this morning so we won't be going into town for anything. I could possibly go to Seligman but it would be a nightmare getting back home cause I'm sure the route 66 is packed heading east.

 Taking a snow day from work, my HuntStand App says best hunting from 130 - 430 today. hmmm been awhile since I hunted the state lands close to home  Will see what the storm brings by then, or if the state roads get drifted in

JSB at the ready contently by the freezer if opportunity happens in the back yard, I do not "feed the birds" but rather have native plants in the landscape that are the natural attraction, so to keep peace with the village people I need to keep the herds thinned as much as possible.

  Now it seems that the predicted snow levels are 2,000' tomorrow, which is just above us but, we are in an area affected more by the mountains than the town is. I think it will snow at my place but likely get melted by the following rain showers almost immediately.

  This morning the rain and wind paused so I was able to get the trash to the road without weather bothering me. 
  It is 38°F and the sun is peaking through currently. I can't see the nearby hills clear enough to see current snow levels, judging by the weather maps available it looks to be 2-3 miles away from us and probably 800' higher too.
  One weather site I checked predicts snow and rain this afternoon while the others don't show snow until tomorrow at my place. We will just have to wait and see who is right.
