Grandkids all weekend, started off with both barfing at 2AM and its been downhill since.

Go shoot sumtin' for me all, Ill be washing bedding all day... 

That's the pits for them and you!  Vomit is the one thing that I cannot do.  I can take most anything except that.  That smell hits my nostrils and....  🤢🤢🤢

I'm good with cleaning up barf, I work in the health system and GI stuff is a constant reality

I'm upset that the kids didn't tell us the grandkids were sick, we were told by the oldest grandkid that she had been barfing for 2 days prior.

I woke up at 2:30 AM this morning, an hour and a half before my alarm was set to go off. I guess my internal clock wanted me up because we have a scheduled power outage in our area from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM today. 

Oh well, we are still having our Sunday School and Ch**ch this morning, the heater is on over there and the building will be warmed up ahead of time, we will get by with light from the windows on both sides and I will be using my laptop computer.

I guess Betty Lou heard the dogs before I did this morning. She got up, fed them and let them out.
I woke up when Boss was running circles around Rambo trying to get him to play. They used to ruff house for hours but Rambo just got too old. He just looks at her like she's stupid now.
I've been binjing on Nascar for the past couple days. Practice, qualifying and racing in all 4 series. Today it will all wrap up with the Daytona 500. I've been able to distance myself from the beer fridge but that may change for today's race.. the 'happy pie' will be jugged up and ready..  I need to decide which guns to shoot out the door of the mancave during commercial breaks. Maybe a couple vintage pumpers.
Sunny and upper 60s today. The grass just keeps gettin' greener and greener. The daffodils have been in full bloom for a couple weeks now.
I changed the oil and checked the blades on the 0 turn.. it's good to go.

Up and getting the zoo fed, no wind, no rain, finally warmed up. Finish up the fishing stuff, break out the air gun stuff or at least try to find some of it. Just mess around, no big hurry to get it done.

Woke up at 5:00 made coffee, let the Dawg out, then hit the forum.
 Grand - daughter #3 stayed here last night so we had breakfast and now I am going to hang a new blind in the kitchen window. (PITA)
Sun is up now and it is a clear blue sky, light wind, and cool temp.
 I need to go to the Lodge about noon and change the oil / clean the "Henny Penny" but that shouldn't take long.
Plan on getting a little shooting in after that, even if it's 10M indoors.

Mornin Y'all.  Vacations over so it's back to "work" for me.

I think its interesting how some folks feed their critters first thing in the a.m.  All we have right now is two dogs and a cat.  We feed everyone in the evening.  It works because carnivores like cats and dogs prefer to sleep after eating.  Everyone goes outside around midnight and then again first thing.  Back when we kept a menagerie that didn't work.

Our 2 horses dogs eat twice a day.. and trust me, they will let us know when it's time.

  Why yes, the scheduled a power outage is for "maintenance", (probably replacing transformers? maybe some poles?). I have no idea why they chose to do it on a weekend when more people are home.

  I don't know the size of the area, but if it is the same that gets shut down for fire prevention it is about 6x6 miles?

  I have auxiliary power at the house but the Sanctuary doesn't. I could drag a generator over there but not without some heavy lifting, we will get by without today, it will be just a bit dim in there.
 I hope they are making improvements that will improve dependability so that they can leave our power on when the wind blows, LOL.  The last couple of years they shut our power off if there is a perceived fire danger further into the rural area that we are exactly on the edge of.

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday! I woke at 0300 and went back to bed until 0700… even then, I still really didn’t feel like getting up. It happens sometimes that I get worn out or in a funk and I feel it. Needless to say, we’re all feeling it… Ayrabella just got up and my wife’s still in bed. I suppose we’re just going to relax around the house until the Daytona 500. Probably will help my wife with this week’s laundry until then too.

I agree. I think some poles now have wind measuring/reporting devices on them, that's what it looks like anyway.
The last year they only shut off our power three or four times I think. Once was for over 24 hours though.
 If they would just keep the weeds around all the poles cut that would eliminate most of the fire danger, but they never, never, do that. Most of the fires started by electric is by sparks showered under the poles not by downed wires from what I have been told by workers. The electric companies contracted help are examining our poles every 3-6 weeks now.

How did it turn out? I did the same a couple months ago with a heavy 70" long wooden set of 2" blinds over my kitchen sink cabinet and it was a pita where some fussing and cussing was had but in the end it was all worth it where now I'm kicking myself for not doing it years ago and same for the window panes delete I did recently too on the garage door to the patio.

You should've seen the disgusted frown on the neighborhood cat's face when she came to the door mad at me after seeing her brother had been fed and I didn't already have her bowl out there. It was so unfair but finally forgivable after I brought her bowl out. Still to her I shouldn't have made it right afterward I should've done her right to begin with! The hilarious moods cats can have....

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I slept in until 0530 CST. Did the morning routine with the dog already. Getting ready to rollout to work. I have an hour and a half ride to go look at a freezer full of water. I guess it’s not freezing. That’s my diagnosis from here, at least.

I have been awake for an hour an a half, I stayed in bed for an hour and got up at around 4:50 AM

As I stayed there in bed I thought about how I could plan my day but decided not to.

Plans got put on hold for just a bit... after that filling meal I posted about in the 'What ya eating' thread I think I'll just sit here in the recliner for a bit and watch some Picard.
