Happy Saturday GTA!!! I fell asleep last night around midnight-30 and got up at 0600 CST… I’ve been non-stop here with self-appointed tasks, Ayrabella and the dog. We’re headed out to find a playground with monkey-bars. 2 days in a row, Thursday & Friday, 2 parks and no monkey bars. 

Good luck!  The Department of Education did a study a few years back and discovered that playground equipment is dangerous!

Apparently monkey bars are potentially the most dangerous item on the playground.  One of my first jobs as a park ranger was removing playground equipment that was deemed a liability.

Still managed to take a couple walks with Betty Lou and the dogs between raindrops today. Rambo, aka Nancy Boy, cuts his walks short and heads for the safety of the front porch if a drop of rain hits him. Boss, on the other hand, will stand up to her neck in a puddle. She has to be towel dried before going back in the house.

I think monkey bars were my favorite and built a lot of strength and confidence. After all the recess time spent on the bars hanging onto handle bars of my dirt bike was easy with my ape like grip. Sure some falls happen but I think if usage hours were factored in the conclusion would not look as bad. Having said that a grandson of mine broke his arm in three places when he fell off one time. I still think kids need the experience and that need justifies the injuries IMHO. Life is risky, and a lot of risks bring rewards that make it fun and worth it.

A lot of people want a no-risk life.  I think there's something wrong with them.   I blame the start of the safety Nazis on Volvo.   Me, I don't want to someday be in a nursing home or adult community and not have plenty of near death stories.   Some even think guns are too dangerous, crazy huh?

Good morning GTA! Happy Sunday!!! Mama got in late, we were all hungry and got home late… I don’t know what time I went to bed, but it was after midnight. I got up at 0700 and made coffee. Ayrabella opened her eyes for a second and rolled over. Chillie’s sleeping on Mom’s legs and I don’t think there’s any reason to believe any of them are going to get up soon. There’s a an evening service tonight… maybe I’ll finally get to shoot an airgun?!

We did find an awesome park with 2 awesome playgrounds… but your explanation, Carter, must be it… no monkey bars… and I agree with Dan & Matt completely on the subject. I have a further opinion, that, I too can’t share. However… The playground we found had a 13+ age range Ninja Warrior course. With  my supervision, Ayrabella wore herself out. We’ll be definitely going back.

I was up at 4:00 as per a normal Sunday for me. It got down to 28°F overnight and is forecast to get to 58-60°F today and tomorrow. Sunny for the next 7 days with a high about 68-70°F on Wednesday.    Hemet is on the edge of a high wind warning area today, but our forecast only shows 7-8 miles an hour at the peak. Most of the high winds look to be west and north of us, so we'll see. There are a few light clouds but its a beautiful morning here.

We use to dismantle some of the playgrounds in Burger Kings and McD's.
We were required, by contract, to totally destroy ALL the parts so they could not be reassembled in any way.
We had to take pictures of the whole process and submit them. They feared law suits if they were used by someone down the road.

Up at first light. Checked the temperature and it's 11 degrees at my house. Not sure what the day will bring. Might go and do some more dead tree cutting burning. Wife said she is going to be watching football all day which I can care less about.

Good morning GTA!!! Happy Monday! Back to the grind for me today… I took a long, late nap yesterday and could only sleep 4 hours last(?) night… up at 0200 CST. The dog’s in bed with Mom, quite content. I made a pot of coffee and I’m catching up here & elsewhere way before time for breakfast, etc. I have a site with control issues on the HVAC stuff that no one else can figure out… from what I understand, this week’s going to have a lot of that which the office was holding out on for my return to tackle. I’ll walk the dog at 0600 and get Ayrabella on the bus so Mom can rest. I’ll head out to work about 0715. We’ve got a winter storm coming tomorrow… 4-8” of snow is possible. That ought to cripple the NWA for at least a day.

No shot today so up late and in mcscrotums drive thru for some coffee and a cinimon roll. Had a great day with the family then night with Jeff and Nancy. Today might be a little rough.

Mornin....
Woke up at 4:00am but laid in bed watching the news and weather until 5:00am when I heard the dogs stirring.
Looks like we'll get a break in the rain today with temps in the high 50's.
Tracking says the battery for the Honda Rancher should be delivered this morning. I'll let the dogs out again and when they come back in I'll go open the gate and bring the trash container back to the house. I'll leave the gate open so the mail lady can drive up to the house to deliver the package.
After that I'll use the jump box to start the Rancher and bring it into the shop to change the battery out.
No real plans for the rest of the day. I might go pick up some clear finish for the RM377 stock that Betty Lou is refinishing.
