Yep, I would definitely buy a vehicle that would traverse the road and not fix it.
I suppose I don't completely understand your living arrangement. Seems to me someone would be obligated.

Nope, the county just collects the taxes and gives us nada! In the 3 years we've been here only seen the sheriffs 2 times in all that time. They won't come up here until someone calls them. Suppose to get around.25 an inch tomorrow night. Just what we need.

I am glad I have all pavement, mud can be a hassle. Years ago in town (1978) the city decide to lower our street and widen it and put in curbs, but they started it right before the rainy season, it was DEEP mud for December, January, and February. I had to use my pickup with chains to get back and forth to my car parked about 1/4 mile away on a cross street. The "kids" with 4x4's really stirred it into a big mess. It was awesome when they finished it though.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! I got up about the time Matt hit the road. I’m having a coffee and then I’ve got to get going too. I have a meeting in Tulsa and an ice machine class at 0800. I want to leave early enough to not see traffic and have a coffee with another old timer before the meeting.

Boss came into the bedroom at 3am growling with her chew rope in her mouth. She wouldn't quit until I got up. Rambo was waiting in the hallway. I got up and went to the kitchen, put the coffee on and put food in their dishes. When I came back into the living room, both were sleeping on their beds.. Boss with her chew rope still in her mouth. So now I'm sitting in my recliner sipping coffee alone... everyone else is comfortably snoring.

I take every opportunity I can to mess with them. Betty Lou is constantly admonishing me for it. I love catching them sleeping and grabbing a leg or tail. Boss don't like her tail or feet messed with. She has to be muzzled and sedated to clip her nails. That's always a trip to the vet.
Rambo has learned to ignore me. Most times he just raises his head and gives me the ole stink eye look then goes back to sleep.

I was in bed from 10:20 until 4:00 this morning.

 I admit I ignore the dogs pretty much at night when I am in bed. I make sure they go outside before bed and then they can wait until I get up.

My wife is not as good at ignoring them at night though.
I tell her she lets them train her, LOL. To be fair though Hank will push and nudge on her with his muzzle when we are in bed because there is more room on her side of the bed. 

When we are up they come to either of us when they want/need something, and the little one has added "pick her up and put her on a couch or chair" to her wants/needs lately, it is getting hard for her to jump and sometimes she just can't. Her left rear leg muscles are shrinking from some old nerve damage I guess. She still walks fine but sitting is usually lopsided and running is very sideways when it rarely happens now too.

Hank the Great Dane just follows my wife room to room but wants to follow me and stay outside with me when I go/am out there. He will get in our faces if he needs to go out and when he thinks it's time to eat. He has a good built in clock and is right on time most of the time. He loves when it's cold out and we are in the living room, family room, or kitchen so he can lay in front of the fake wood stove and still be with us.

We are having a rainy day today so I'll be staying inside and plan not do too much. I usually kind of take Mondays off but, looking at the weather forecast led me to get a bunch of stuff done yesterday and wait until today to chill out. 

The next three days it is supposed to be nice out, and then maybe 4 days of rainy weather.

Chores are done, bills paid, zoo fed, motor on boat fixed, GONE FISHING!!! AAAAHHHHH Retirement Life!

Well I tried to get atter but as I was a bout 20 miles from the quarry I had to turn around. The drill threw a track and it would have taken 4 5 hours to fix.

Animals do that with their people, cat's too. The neighborhood cats try to train me to feed them 3 times a day casting their mental hooks fishing for a catch so to speak. They don't ever snag me but they still keep trying anyway the funny persistent twerps.

You need a good 4x4 with aggressive 36 inch mud tires.

You will get through no mater what.... but the Free Loaders who won't help you maintain the road ....just might have a problem.

You could even charge them the going rate in your area, to get them un-stuck. 


I had a 2005 3/4 ton Dodge 4x4 Power Wagon pickup the would go thru that and a lot more....easy.

The old Dodge pickup came with selectable differential lockers front and back.

It also had a factory mounted wench up front.

Got up at 4am with the dogs acting strange. Didn't take long to figure it out. I could see a large black stray cat on the front porch in the security camera. They must have smelled or heard  it out there. I got them to eat which gave the cat a chance to get gone then let them out. They sniffed around and followed the trail to the fence but soon lost interest, marked their territory and came back in. This is the 2nd time I've seen this cat and it's really living dangerously coming inside the fence. We don't feed the dogs outside only water so that's not why it comes around. It will learn a tough lesson if they catch it.

I think today is the day I have to put down one of my four legged pals.  Not looking forward to it.   This one has been a great friend.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! Up at 0400 CST. I walked Chillie with my first cup of coffee. All she wanted to do was hunt for crickets in the grass. After my second cup o’Joe, I’ll get showered and ready for the day. I don’t have a job on me for today, but I have my 0600 meeting with the guys from Ch**ch. I’ll call the office at 0800 hrs to see if there’s anything for me today. If not, that’s fine. I have to put my wife on a plane for Oregon tomorrow morning.
