I got the biggest section of that fallen tree cut into 18" logs. I think I counted 15 logs.
After a break and fuel/bar oil refill I'll start on the 2 smaller sections and all the other limbs and branches from around the property. I got a nice wood pile going and no wood stove. I could have some really great camp fires though.. 

Do the 2 kids like relaxing by the fire, B sir?

I actually have to keep an eye on Boss. I think she's been snake bit one too many times..  She'll pull a burning stick out of the fire and bring it to you. When you try to take it from her she thinks it'a a game and runs off with it.
A garden hose is your best bet. For one spray her to drop the stick and two to put the fire out that she ran around the yard setting..   
And Rambo is too fat and lazy to know when to turn over so he'll cook evenly.

But both are like my best friends and I wouldn't trade them for the World. Where ever Betty Lou and I are on thee property they are right there. If we leave they are at the gate when we get home.
Like they say... lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for a few hours and see which one is happy to see you when you let them out.

I normally pet someone else’s dogs everytime I see one being exercised—with the owner’s permission, of course, and some of them are hot, lol!

I have to appease the plumbing gods today, round 2 of this mess. Thought the problem was solved,NOT!. I have to replace at least 4' of cpvc that was brittle all the way down the next joint. Hopefully this will be the last of this for awhile, I would rather be fixing my air guns than this mess.

Thanks guys. Just one of the joys of home ownership to deal with. So long as the power stays on, I am fine with it. If you are going to live in Florida you better be prepared to handle the outcome it's weather throws at ya. To some extent this is not my idea of retirement right now but it beats getting up to go to work and having to fix problems there.

Well, we got everything that came down in that last storm cut into log size now all we have to do is go around with the Kodiak and yard trailer and bring it all back to the wood pile and stack it. I think we'll save that job for tomorrow. Now that I am retired we don't need to do everything in one day. Breaking these jobs into smaller tasks helps us stay active each day without over doing it.
For me, retirement is all about slowing down and doing everything in moderation. We don't want to come in the house and fall into a chair nursing sore backs or dreading going back out to do something. There is plenty to do around here to keep us busy and active for a long time to come... provided we don't take ourselves out.

That's what's great about retirement! You make the call when your done! Not some Boss Hog back in an office.
I work part time doing the same stuff I did for years now. BUT! I tell them when or if I'll work any given day or how long.

Sounds like my wife but she's had multiple back surgeries and needs to just settle down. The thing that really bugs me is when I'm starting to wind down from working around the property she's just getting wound up.
