I almost forgot! One more must do today… we have to go to the square in Fayetteville to see the Christmas lights tonight! We normally go Thanksgiving night, way past dinner, to see the lights and walk around (while it’s warmer!), but we were at my Mom’s this year and we haven’t been yet.

Up at 930.   Appointment for a massage at 11.  House felt cool.  No heat because no power.  Currently 27° outside, 60° inside.  Shower will be interesting.  Everything in this house is electric and the water heater is in the garage.

Yesterday, our power was blinking from about 7 a.m. until around 10:45 a.m. [About every six minutes.]
At 8:30 a.m. today, we had our first rolling power outage.  It lasted precisely 15 minutes.  We were not warned in advance and don't know if/when it may occur again.  Our outside temperature is currently 14ºF - so the house cools off quickly.  I figure the heat pump will take about 1.5 - 2 hours to catch up.

Well despite my efforts, we have frozen pipes. We have no hot water anywhere and only cold water in the kitchen, shower and toilet. I dripped the bar faucet and when out to ice from the faucet to the sink drain.
Nothing to do now but keep those thawed and wait for it to warm up tomorrow for the rest.

No azz in the water /toes in the sand today…water is ok…rolling blackouts started..wrangling the dogs is the highlight of the day….hope everybody can stay warm and fuzzy…good luck and wishing you and yours Warm Happy Holidays…

Good morning GTA! Happy Christmas Eve! I woke up at 2:31 AM but I had gone to bed at 9:30 PM so that was fairly predictable. I took some Advil and went back to bed, snoozed a little, then snuggled a bit, and got up at 5:00 AM

It is suppose to get to 79°F today. Today will be family day.

We are going to have 3 days at about 80°F, the the next 7 days look like 60ish and rainy.

I feel your pain Matt. That is my "normal" as well and sums it up to a "T".

Today is our Christmas.
3 of the 4 Daughters families and Mom insist on braving the cold and coming for "Brunch" and Pressies.

Yeah, the wife says that some nights it sounds like a nuthouse in here.

Afternoon ya'll.  Ran around the park this a.m. making sure no pipes had broken.  Now I'm holed up at the Admin building.  Where it's warm.  Not much to do on Christmas eve at the park.  Nobody here but us rangers!

We had a just a dusting of snow in So NH.  So I wont be shoveling but I'll be picking up all the branches that blew down in the high wind.   I can use the fresh air and exercise.

It's up to 15 degrees so I went out to clean up all the blow down branches.   I figured it wouldn't take too long so I just went out in my flip flops.   By the time I finished, I understood why some  (wiser) people would put on shoes and maybe socks too.

I just can,t imagine how cold it is in parts of the USA. Snow and frozen water supply just doesn't happen in Manakau . Your storms must be worse than anything we have .Stay warm if you can and stay safe.

Most people here think that this the only place to live.
It most likely would have been a big beer fest, with weekends spent parked on a frozen lake, ice fishing in a heated shanty.

Some of the new R.V. ice fishing rigs are Really Nice. They are pulled out on to the lakes..RV Style with Bunk Room or Bed Room,
Forced Air Heat, Kitchen Stove, Microwave, Bathroom with shower, Satellite Internet and Satellite Large Screen T.V.
Living Room with sofa, chairs and fire place, Fishing Lounge with Wet Bar and real time updates to major sporting events.
