Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I slept in until 0500 CST. I’m on call for work this weekend. But, the plan for this morning is a Men’s Breakfast at the Ch**ch at 0800-1000. After that, I need to break out the Christmas stuff from the attic. We’re a weekend behind, because we were out of town for Thanksgiving. Ayrabella says I “have to” get them down today. If I get called out, the girls will still decorate.

 Today is a busy Saturday...
 Greeted my Buddy at 06:00 who is here to Duck hunt.
At 8:30-9:00 I am meeting with a Contractor to get a quote on some new windows for the House.
Then I need to pack a few of my "indoor" guns away in preparation for the family visit...
Lastly is the big family get together at the Lodge for the all encompassing holiday party starting at 16:30. (some assembly required)

I plan on going out and doing a little small game hunting.

I slept in until 5:00.    Having my coffee now, and I have some paper work to go through that I have been putting off. It is suppose to get to 70°F (the only day in our 10day forecast to get to 70°F) today so I am going to try to get out and ride a motorcycle a little at least. But I also have to trim hedges and take care of some other things at my house in town too. I may have to settle for riding to the house in town since the days are so short now.

 Back when I was working I rode a motorcycle to work everyday that wasn't raining (regardless of temps) when I left for work, now I look at weather and only ride when it is nice out, and cater to my wife's idea of "nice" too, so I have gotten to be a fair weather rider. 

 She is my only riding buddy and I like taking her along better than riding alone.

 I just saw a rabbit on my security camera while typing this, and tried to go shoot it but it got away running behind a shed before I got a shot, I walked the five acres but didn't see any. It's 42°F with 73% humidity right now but felt good to hunt/stalk a bit, even if I didn't see anything.

Went to the barn to load my 10' atv trailer with stuff for the Red Shed while Betty Lou prepared breakfast. Time to continue sorting and organizing.

Work was cancelled today so gonna start the brick base in the Den.
Then dig through junk to see if I have something to make a drill jig for the Dreamline.
I plan to add extra set screws to each side of the breech to hold the barrel.

We rarely get snow here but it did snow an several days while I was at work with the motorcycle. I had no place to put wet rain gear at work, so that is why I wouldn't ride to work in the rain. I actually enjoy riding in the rain, except for cleaning the bike up afterwards.

Thinking about heading up to the gun shop and buying another pistol....

I like the way you think. If I had the $ I'd get another shotgun but one with a longer barrel and tight choke for longer range bird shooting. Always something else needing the money other than what I'd like to blow it on.

You ain’t kidding, I’m 2 air rifles behind my intended schedule.

I will have you fellas know that I was strong when I went the the gun store....  twice! I still have not bought that SIG M17....  yet.  😆👊🏼

Honestly don't think that I will either.  I just don't out to shot powder guns much.  I enjoy shooting in the comfort and convenience of my own yard.  That's how I came into airguns back in 2007 when the oldest kids were young and I didn't want to leave my wife and kids behind at home to go shoot guns.  Now the youngest boys all want to go shoot powder guns but I don't want to spend the money on ammo, pack up, drive, hope no knuckle heads are out there or if we can even find a space to occupy.  I have considered joining a local range but that's just more $$$ spent on something I don't want to travel all the time to do.  Think I'll stick to the occasional firearms outing (3-4 times a year) and keep shooting air power.  I must admit that I did buy a 22 cal Ruger Wrangler revolver and picked it up last Sunday. Nits gonna be a fun one.  I need to find some shorts for it and see how loud it is in the backyard. Maybe I can get away with shooting the shorts at the house without getting the neighbors attention. 🤠🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸

It's so nice to have a property big enough to shoot PBs and AGs whenever I want or need in my case because of hogs. Most of the time I'm too busy to shoot other than the hogs that show up every few months or so.



John do you have a automatic pool vacuum? I've ran mine for almost 2 decades and never thought to attach a floating handle to make it easier to get the vacuum out of the water until yesterday after watching a youtube vid and seeing someone had done that.

I used a old strap tie by cutting off the metal hook with a grinder. I tied around each side of the handle with dual loop single knots cinched extra tight with tractor size zip ties to insure they hold their place then inserted the strap through it's loop in the middle tied with another knot to prevent the strap from slipping around and zip tied a pipe insulator on the remaining foot and a half of strap with a final knot at the end to keep the float attached. Works great pulling the vacuum straight out and the float keeps the strap out of the wheels!

Spent 3hrs on the phone with my oldest daughter. Neither of us could remember when we had talked last. She lives in Washington State.

Also checked out what I can do to still be able to have a 3.5mm output jack work with the new google 7xl phone I'll be receiving next week. I plug my phone in to the aux input for the radio in my old 07 ranger. I use the navigation on my phone and listen to the music on my phone. Not sure when phones stop having headphone jacks but my pixel 4a has 1 but my youngest daughter's pixel 4 didn't.

That’s brilliant, Gil. We don’t have a permanent pool, so we’ve never had a permanent pool vacuum. I tear the pool down once it gets too cold. I’d like to have a permanent, professionally installed pool. But with things the way they’re going, economically, I’m not sure that’s going to happen here too soon. I hope, at least, to get a bigger pool next year. I want to take the smaller pool down to my Mom’s for next summer.

Well I trimmed hedges, spayed weeds, and cleaned up leaves and swept the driveway at my house in town. I also discovered that the heater and AC are not working now, it looks like the thermostat went bad? The buttons and switches on it do nothing at all with the exception of the fan switch, it is just a thermometer now. It was 62°F inside. I really need to maintain the temp for the piano, and for us when we are there too, so I have a new one ordered.

The call center just called, I’m headed to Ft. Smith for a no heat call.

Went to bed way too early last night... my eyes popped open at 3:30 this morning and would not close again. I rolled out of bed so Betty Lou and the dogs could sleep.
Put the coffee on and streamed some knight in shining armor movie.
At daylight I went out and pulled the trailer up to the Red Shed from the barn and unloaded some wood for more shelving.

Up at 0600 and out to the squirrel spot.  Shot the squirrel I was after (see hunting gate) and talked to a group of hikers from some toney finishing school up in Yankee land.
Now I’m back at the shack adjusting my attitude and getting ready to skin a squirrel.
