Sonja's already left for work.  I have a small note of things to do- most revolving around reaching out to a local machine-shop for some head work.  I'm going to build a small durable wooden box with handles just so moving a straight-6 4.9 liter cylinder head is a little easier.  It also means I have a few parts to order and/or think about.

Otherwise, it is a work day.  In between tasks, I'm going some research on KitchenAid mixers; Sonja has concluded she needs a larger one and I am inclined to agree.  It benefits us both    No, we're not knocking the one she owns, but it IS smaller than we need and the tilt-head models have a max capacity of 5 quarts- a precarious "gonna get splattered with flour" if you hit that max capacity.

Let's see.... before work I'm probably going to flush one of my freebie mowers (commercial-rated Husqvarna) since the oil is diluted with gas due to a stuck needle in the carb.  Engine was hydro-locked until I dumped a good quart of "mixed" oil.  I picked up that and two other mowers for free- along with a Kelly Perfect axe in dire need of a new handle.  The axe was a crusty rusty nasty chunk of yuck, but now sits clean and pretty.  The future owner of both the Husq and the axe is a friend of the family and superb tile guy, so no matter what, we both win anyway.

I was up until about 1:00 until I got sleepy and then up at 5:15 this morning. (I was up for 23 hours)
  I have an appointment at the Bank at 10:00 and it will probably be raining by the time I get back home. So, I will play the rest of the day by ear and see how it goes.

 My wife is not quite over the food poisoning yet, she feels fairly well and is eating but has some stomach pain and lingering headache still. I got over it in 3 days, she is usually the one to fight stuff faster than I do and just keep going. I took her to the doctor and they ran a lot of tests and just subscribe time, rest, and fluids. It sounds like a couple more days she will be 100% again. She stayed up all day yesterday so I know she is getting better.

The throttle cable on my 15yr old Cub Cadet mower finally gave up the ghost now that it lasted through it's last hard summer. Ordered a replacement and hoping it will arrive quickly and most importantly that it won't be a royal pita to install given I'll have to remove a side panel to pull out the old cable and install the new one. The original starter is going bad too so I ordered it's replacement and it looks like an easy install.

My heavy shower curtain isn't heavy enough to keep it from floating to me in the shower so I got big washers that were starting to barely rust so I sprayed anti rust primer then painted them white. Once they dried I superglued them to the shower curtain and hung it back up. The white color goes with the shower so the steel washers don't stand out and now the curtain stays in place. Weird issue as all I've had to do in the past is wet the tub and curtain to stick together but that doesn't work with the walk in shower that only has a 3" rise from the floor.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! Up at 0400 CST. This morning I have to go vote. Then I’ll be off to work. A cooler/freezer that’s not working for a newish site, they got remodeled with new equipment. I may not even be the one to fix it, depending on the warranty, we’ll see.

Gonna keep tinkering on the Umarex Ruger Yukon. Barrel cleaning first then see what, if anything, I can do with the trigger. Length of pull ain't bad where it's at and unfortunately, it's the only adjustment this gun has. Gonna have to get physical to lighten up that let off.

There are so many things I'd like to say about voting today but I don't want to violate any rules here.   I don't think I'll walk away from the booths feeling real good about my decisions.

I'm avoiding the entire topic like the plague. I wouldn't even discuss it if it weren't against the rules.
This thread is one of the longest running threads on the GTA. I would be highly disappointed in anyone who chose to take it down that road and got it locked.

Gonna load up the Rancher 420 and go find some Crenshaw County dirt roads to run. This county is full of connecting dirt roads and you can run them for hours. I'll hang the chopper Hatsan Stryker 1k in the Webley stock .177 on the gun rack.

We did that last week, mostly because the wife was feeling cold when she was down with food poisoning, but it was about time anyway. I have just turned my side on once for about 20 minutes so far since. My wife uses hers nightly, if/when I turn my side on its set at 1.5 if it's left on longer than warming the blankets. I usually just use it to warm up the bed right before I get in it on colder nights.

It's 46° at 5:00AM and we are suppose to have a high of 57° today. Mid to High 60's the next 9 days.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! It’s Hump-Day, again! Up at 0400 CST. Had my 0600 meeting and now I’m at work. Typical for Arkansas this time of year, it’s supposed to get to 80* today- supposed to snow maybe come Monday.

Moving stuff from the backroom to the shed and finding a new area for all the Air Guns.
Getting ready to pour 4 to 5 bags of self leveler in that room for new flooring.
Then take the DreamLine and change the Safety and add the Power Plenum.

Just got back from running some dirt roads on the avt for a couple hours. Stopped and visited my old friend who was the County Sheriff (Charles West)for many years. As we were sitting in his barn/mancave another truck pulled up. It turned out to be the guy that lost the election yesterday to the incumbent Sheriff (Ronnie White).
A while back I hooked up the old Sheriff with a couple airguns to keep the starling away from his many martin houses. I happened to have the Buccaneer and the Avenger in the truck and had them out on the hood. Turns out Ronnie is an avid scuba diver but wasn't aware of PCP airguns. He does however, have a means of filling his scuba tanks. So I may have a couple new PCP shooting buddies coming.
The conversation soon fell into politics so I made my leave...

 Afternoon y’all!  Up at the crack of noon.  The almighty has seen fit to pardon me today.  The tropical storm off in the Atlantic has sent the powers that be into a tizzy. Fear of Hurricanes affects politicians far worse than the rest of us so they have shut the whole state of Florida down and sent all us state employees home for the day.  With pay!
