It was in the low 70s today. I can't believe it's warmer in NH than So. California. Heat wave till tuesday here. Lot of shooting planned for the weekend. My area is one of the hottest in the summer and one of the coldest in the winter according to a weather site I was looking at recently. I have lived in this area mostly since 1968 and have seen 119°F in the summer and 17°F in the winter. Snow is rare and so are temps in the 20's and below. In Hemet, there are 121.3 days annually when the high temperature is over 90°, which is one of the hottest places in California.December has the coldest nighttime temperatures for Hemet with an average of 36.1°. This is colder than most places in California. In Hemet, there are 22.3 days annually when the nighttime low temperature falls below freezing, which is colder than most places in California.February is the wettest month in Hemet with 2.8 inches of rain, and the driest month is June with 0.1 inches. The wettest season is Spring with 58% of yearly precipitation and 3% occurs in Autumn, which is the driest season. The annual rainfall of 11.9 inches in Hemet means that it is drier than most places in California.February is the rainiest month in Hemet with 5.7 days of rain, and June is the driest month with only 0.3 rainy days. There are 32.3 rainy days annually in Hemet, which is less rainy than most places in California. The rainiest season is Spring when it rains 47% of the time and the driest is Autumn with only a 6% chance of a rainy day.I'll have to beg to differ. I lived in the high desert and have seen 6 degrees in the winter though I don't think I've seen more than 114 degrees in the summer but can't remember for sure. Where I lived was right at 3000' and big bear was only 20 miles south as the Raven flies. When the inland empire was getting your Santana wind and getting cooked we were having temps in the 70s.I just quoted the climate info given on "Best Places" site. I would say 6° and 17° would likely both be among the coldest. I have no idea how they determine that evaluation or where it sits in their order or how long their lists are, I didn't see a list. Having a been here a long time I know that at times it is among the hottest and other time it would be among the coldest, depending on how long the list is. I am 75 miles south of Big Bear and at the base of the San Jacinto mountains our coldest temps come from downdrafts from the mountains at night. It was 117°F the day the Fairview fire started here. Temps around the Hemet-San Jacinto valley vary up to 10 degrees at any given time.

I really don't give a hang about the weather here today and tomorrow as long as it's good at Homestead for the NASCAR championship races in Xfinity and Cup series.
Welcome home Scott!
Unpacking from a trip to the desert. Boo.....2 glorious days of uninterrupted doing absolutely nothing but drinking cold beer, eating burgers, and listening to the melodious sound of pink and fighter jets flying over head! This time close enough to see the pilot! Gotta love those boys burning fossil fuels in such a cool way. Now the fun part.....
