I have no idea why I was so nervous about that SS phone interview. That lady was very friendly and not once made me feel like I was trying to scam the gubmnt... We hear so many horror stories about the process.. at least I have. It was a very simple process of basically reviewing what I had already submitted when I first applied online several months ago. At the end of the interview they ask you, on the record, if the information you've supplied was true to the best of your knowledge.
We set up direct deposit and my first check will be in the account on the 3rd Wednesday of Nov. this year and each 3rd Wednesday of the month going forward.

I worked outside until about noon, when it hit 95°F I came inside to cool down.

I visitor showed up wanting help, I didn't give him what he was asking for but did help him out my way.
He is riding a Honda Shadow Aero that he said "he thinks is stolen", it has no license plate on it and it was hot wired. Eh, good luck with that!

More puttering around in the mancave is the plan today. We have that retirement lunch to attend at noon.
I got my personal cell phone turned back on and all the numbers transferred into it from my company phone.
Decided to go ahead and set the company phone back to factory install and turn it in this afternoon after the lunch.
I'm also going to go into work and clean out my desk and wipe my personal stuff off that computer as well.
Then I'll turn in my parking pass and ID.
They had me on medical leave this week so today is officially my last day as an employee.

Been weaning off the meds as the scripts run out and I may have to see about reupping on the pain meds at a lower dose.. I can feel a dull ache in my hand, elbow and shoulder trying to creep back in..

Maintenance.  Thats what it says next to my name on the schedule. I’ve got a list of puddly stuff, leaking water fountains, a rotten door, and lots of picnic tables to overhaul.  It’s a beautiful day and I’ve got plenty to do!

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday! Up at 0430 CT. I only have one job on the schedule for today. We need to re-insulate some refrigerant pipe that’s above a ceiling and I have help and a 12’ ladder. After that I need to be home to get Ayrabella off the bus. My wife is going on a 2 day women’s retreat & conference with the ladies from the CH**ch. I’m on my 3rd coffee, but I need to get rolling. I hope & pray we hear from our friends down in Florida soon.

Bill, as I read your post, I saw that you were going to a retirement lunch.  I interpret that to mean that it is an appreciation lunch; and they will be handing out some sort of awards.  You will probably get a NEW CAR!  Or not.

  I had the gate open for FedEx and I was outside working when he pulled up.

  I guess it's what you do if you have half a brain. But he says he didn't steel it but said he took it from a guys property without his knowledge or permission. What he meant was the other guy had bought a stolen bike.
  This guy was 65 years old, and telling totally unbelievable whoppers every other sentence, and contradicting himself because he couldn't remember the lies.
  One thing he said I don't believe, was he hadn't had any water for the last two days but, then he only drank a couple of sips and didn't want any more. OKAY! 
  I can't help someone much that isn't trying or willing to try. The one thing he said that is likely true is, if the cops talk to him he's going to jail.   

  I started out the day putting the rear brakes back together on the Chevy van that was abandoned and putting the wheels back on and getting it off the blocks and on the ground. Then I put the door panels back on it and clean the trash out of it.
 The guy that owned it and was working on it here wasn't on drugs but, what he was doing made as much sense as if he was. The mini strokes he was having were messing him up before the big one made it real obvious.

Yep, we're up and in our modest RV on Lake Hawkins  It was a welcome 48° upon awakening this AM.  We'll go to the store in a bit, come back and griddle a Smashburger and then sit and watch the lake.  I may shoot a can with the handguns I brought?

I think the dog needs a bath and nail trim.   Definitely some AG shooting.  Putter around, need to sell/get rid of an awful lot of stuff around here.  Maybe I'll start with old magazines.   I've got boxes of old Popular Science and Mechanics  from the 1940s and I've saved every motorcycle and car magazine I have ever bought back to the late 60s, must be thousands of them.   Great covers on the old magazine like this Popular Science from 1941.  They were fun to read and have nice artwork covers but I'm gettin' older every day.
