Good morning GTA! Happy Friday! Woke up a little before 0400 CT.  My wife had cooked some chicken breast in the slow cooker yesterday and asked if I would make some chicken salad for her. So that's what it did first thing this morning. My wife is sitting with her 94 year old aunt today and Aunt Verna Lois loves my chicken salad. It's my mother's recipe that I kinda tweaked.


I need to run to the bank to renew a CD and I'll probably run on up to the grocery store after that.

First of the month, Friday, what am I thinking? Grocery store will be a madhouse.

Betty Lou cleaned out the coffee maker yesterday as she normally does. Then she puts the filter and coffee in it. When I get up, a feed the dogs and fill the water reservoir and turn it on.
She didn't put the filter and coffee in and I drew a nice hot cup of water with sweetner and cream.

On a good note... it's Friday and we have a 3 day weekend.

Today is the start of me working weekends, and off sometime mid week. Amazing the number of people that come to pick apples and pumpkins, and want a hay ride through the woods, also amazing the deer will sit in the woods and watch them ride by like a parade.

The amazing thing about the brewing without the pot to catch it is that when I came back from my shower the counter was dry and the only sign was grounds were wet. There was a sleight undetectable to the eye slope to the sink where it just went down the drain.   

You know you need coffee if you make one of those errors. It also teaches that we shouldn't do things in a rush when we are not fully awake. LOL

I was going to include that but I had to go check my wife's Honda's oil and say good by to her. She is off to house/puppy sit for our youngest daughter until Sunday morning. It's a slow oil user and I had not checked it for a while. I always try to remember to check it before going out of town just to be safe, it was fine. It runs great and just passed the smog check, and I want to do my part to keep it that way.

Anyways, It's Friday.
My biggest hurdle today will be trying to stick it out until 5pm here at work.
I have 18 hours vacation left until the Winter 2 week shutdown beginning on Christmas eve.
This will be a 3 day weekend and Thanksgiving will be a 4 day weekend.
I like to keep a day in reserve right up until the last minute. You never know what may happen.
That leaves 10 hours that can be taken in a minimum of 2 hour increments.
Yes, I'm on salary but I like to fly under the radar. I keep all my time accounted for.
I jumped on the mower after work yesterday and mowed the barn side half of the property.
I forgot to put glasses on and by then my eyes were full. I woke up this morning with them glued shut.
My allergies were kickin my butt.
My temp team members claims to have a Dr. appt. this morning so I'll back up my remaining team member on the dock if he gets in a bind.
Maybe the heat and humidity will give us a break this weekend and I can get some airgun related organizing done.

My son invited me to join him and some of his coworkers for a Mourning Dove hunt this weekend.  We will be going in my truck.  So, with that in mind, I decided to have the tires checked and rotated before the little trip.  I got the tires and Sam's Club and will go there for the work.  While waiting, I just might get a cup of their frozen yogurt too.

Well, forget about the Sam's Club visit.  The first available appointment is tomorrow.  That doesn't fit my schedule.  So I just got through checking air pressures in the tires and topping them off with my little el cheapo electric compressor.  The rotation will wait until I am ready to dance to their music.

I have NEVER cleaned a coffee maker.  Never even thought of it.  I read about it once in the manual but that's as far as it went.  😆😆😆

Cleaning coffee makers.   I've heard some say to keep the coffee maker super clean.   Others say to never clean the coffee maker.   I say, let's go with the easier technique.

I suppose I was a bit misleading.... By cleaning I meant she dumps the old grounds and rinses. Once in a while she'll run vinegar    through it but that's not often.
