Just trying to put out the fires and wrap up the week here at work.
Tomorrow will be full production 2 shifts and Sunday will be one shift (12 hour shifts.)
I have my team scheduled to work and I will quarterback from my cell phone.
I live 3 minutes from my job so I can be here in a hot flash if things go terribly wrong.
One of my guys had a Dr. appt. this morning and we had a couple shipping containers arrive from Korea so I jumped on a forklift and unloaded them while my remaining team member did the morning inventories.
It's a good chance the rains will just be pop ups this weekend and the temps should remain acceptable.
The plan is to get the weekly grocery shopping done this evening to free up the weekend for some me and Betty Lou time.
No set plans, just take it as it comes.

I stayed up until 1:30AM and got up at 7:30AM today.
Today is going to be between 98 and 100, my plan is to stay cool. This August so far info is from the nearest weather station that is 1-3 degrees cooler than at my house usually.

I need to drive up and check to see if it's too wet to cut our divorcee friend's yard.  I’m going to need to get all my mowing done soon but it may end up being later this weekend or even next week.

Wow! Even the highest parts of her yard was soggy.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! Slept in until 0600 CT. I got all my mowing done yesterday after work. The sun’s coming up and I’m still on my first cup of coffee. After my second or 3rd coffee, I’ll vacuum the pool. And I’m going to scrape my mower deck and put on sharp blades for next week. Then I’ll get the line trimming done. I’d like to shoot some airguns later on.

I'm up and thinkin' about getting some gas and mowin' the yard before it gets too hot.  After that, I'll probably shoot a pellet or two.

Mornin folks I slept in though I woke up around 4 to use the can. Went back to bed woke up at 7 said get up and do something so I rolled over and went back to sleep. Got our of bed at 845ish now I'm scooting my way to bakers for a scope and mount for my dozer.

I have to clean out the garage bays so new overhead doors and electric openers can be installed.   I'm a bit irritated that I have to replace both doors even though one of them is in perfect condition.   The other is a bit banged up and we want matching doors so both get replaced.  I'm also irritated that I'm paying someone to do the installation.  It would be a trivial piece of work for a younger me.  The plus side is I'll probably find some interesting stuff that I forgot about .   It's not quite a hoarder garage but there's a lot of "stuff" in there.   Wife calls it junk.   I know it's COOL stuff.

Fed them prairie dogs with bread ‘cuz I forgot to bring veggies.

There was this young and new PD that did not touch the 2 pieces of bread I put near his hole.

His head was out of the hole, and he kept on squeaking at it, turned the other way around and kept squeaking at the other one until I left.

He did it for almost 10 mins nonstop

Probably the bread looked so alien to him 

Was back to feed them prairie dogs again---with veggies (carrots and cabbage) this time.

They totally ignored the bread!

2 came out to consume the veggies with gusto

The grass is knee high and I still ain’t got around to bucking up that tree that fell.  The garden is over grown and there’s junk everywhere in the yard.  The house is a mess and the sink is full of dishes.

Yep, I’m batching it!  The Memsahib prefers to spend the summer in Texas and there is no sign of her coming back anytime soon.

More airgun shooting on the agenda for today!  I think I may head out to the sand quarry again.  Tonight I’m gonna run a jug line for catfish off the dock.

Don’t worry bout that other stuff.  I’ll take care of all that before she gets back.

It was too wet to mow but I mowed it anyway.  We ain't got got much yard left after this summer's ongoing drought.  I may step out back and shoot a  few pellets.  Then again,  I may not?

Well I must confess I really can't stand the mess.

I try to keep up too, and then I always make an extra effort to have the house better than normal when she gets home so she can relax (and be in a good mood). A long time ago I had to explain I was not trying to make her feel like she could do better but JUST so we could have it easy for a bit. She keeps things clean but isn't a perfectionist. I have strong perfectionist tendencies, but have learned to be a bit more chill about mist things. If I lived alone I would be completely organized though. The worst thing about my wife is that she never puts things in the same place, but just in a spot that is free at the moment, that drives me crazy if I let it.  I have learned to accept it is the way she is and things are put away, it's just hard to find things sometimes since they don't have an expected place.

It would be a lot of work for one person to keep up the homestead particularly as we get older.   If one of us dies the other will probably sell and move to a simpler location.  However it could take a long time to sell of all the accumulations prior to moving.  Sometimes I think the smart thing to do is to not have any more possessions (that we care about) that could fit into van.  Live simply in a cheap home we don't care about.   If a hurricane, forest fire, volcanic eruption, drought, insurrection or invasion happens, it's god telling me to pack the van and move and we're gone in two hours.   Keep the gas tank full.

Being young and single the daily dust is hard to keep up when all you do is work.

When I am by myself 45 minutes a day for housework, vacuuming is quick and dusting the main large surfaces is fast and easy Dishes get washed every time I eat, so that is very quick, the most duration is laundry which really will take 5 minutes to sort and then I may have two or three small loads loads waiting for the machines is not a big effort and I can do what I like or need to, putting the clean laundry away is only a few minutes per load.

The endless job of housework we always hear about is just cleaning up after some slob or slobs. What actual housework that needs to be done daily can be minimized by keeping it done rather than waiting to do it.

I do get not feeling up to doing any housework when a person has a lot going on outside the home, but just always having it done makes resting so much better, for me at least.

I had to do some fence repairs that included some cement work at my house in town today and after that I feel spent, and dehydrated. I forgot to bring good drinking well water with me and didn't drink enough city water with the sweating I was doing. My hands and arms are cramping, so I am drinking lots of water, using Theraworxs and relaxing now.
