Hoosier Momma is out of town until Sunday,Today after work, I plan on picking up a LARGE pizza from my favorite carry out then playing "Card table" That's when I drink until my legs fold under me.
Dan same happened to me years ago but I unplugged my HDMI cable and plugged it into another HDMI port and the tv worked so in my case the lightning just fried that one port instead of the entire electronics. I didn't use a surge protector but do now. You can get surge protectors for your breaker box too for around $500 installed if I remember right. May cost more now that prices have blown up for everything.
Gil, I sprayed my lawn this year & it knocked out a lot of the bugs, if not all of them in the area. Doesn’t stop the flying ones, but I swim with the lights off after I skim the pool. There aren’t many that mess with us once the lights are off. My black snakes have done a pretty good job of keeping the other snakes & rodents out of my common areas. I haven’t seen any scorpions here, but not far from here we have.
Good luck John.I have a team member that recently had 2 strokes. He called me last week and planned to return to work today on 2nd shift.I have had a temp filling in for him. The plan was to watch him for a couple days before letting the temp go.This morning he called me to tell me he had a 'setback' and his doctor recommended he not return today.I had a meeting with HR this morning... I suggested they require a release from his doctor specifically clearing him to run heavy equipment such as a forklift. They agreed and will contact him today.

I am sure the policy was just to discourage absences. In 42 years I just needed doctor notes on four occasions, three times were for injuries (a fall at work while unloading a truck, and two motorcycle accidents). All three times my doctor released me by my demand and against recommending I stay off for a couple more months. I would rather work in pain than sit around in pain though so I insisted I had to go back to work. The forth was when I had a stent put in and I only missed a week and could have gone back in three days but choose to take the week off. Plans for the day, I have a grandson coming over to help put the Church sign back up that the wind broke. He says shoot for this afternoon, it will be about 100°F then. I would rather do it when it isn't so hot....

Not just your typical standing, lifting and bending thing. I need to know the odds of another stroke while he is on a forklift with a load of steel auto parts.Basically, I am trying to do what's best for all concerned. Some folks will say or do anything to get back to work for various reasons... pride being one of them. I also need to be careful not to discriminate. From what I heard on the phone this morning (slurred speech) I'm not very optimistic.
