Crazy morning here.
 I was up, prepping for work, when the phone rang at 05:50.
The caller said "I got the money and will be there in 10 minutes"
When I said he must have the wrong number, he got irate.
 "Don't pull that S***T, You know who this is!"
He demanded I be "out front" in 10 minutes WITH THE DRUGS when he gets there, and he is on his way with the money...

Laughing I said "Buddy, I am telling you, you got the wrong number...."

That REALLY ticked him off, and the F-Bomb started flying... A LOT!
I just laughed and hung up, then blocked his number.

Someone in Huntington In. got a rude awakening at 06:00am

Thanks fellas, I got the replacement vent through my main supplier. $37 wholesale for a commercial version, so I couldn’t pass it up. I have ridge vents too. Ultimately, I want a metal roof with ridge vents and I’m going to put in 2 large screened gable vents with dampers and insulate the ceiling of the roof. My attic has blown fiberglass insulation everywhere, some places 2’ deep, I hate that stuff. Just not happening today, but sometime it’s going to have to get done.

Ok... at 10:50 this morning I figured I had waited long enough for a reply from the insurance company that the state had cleared the issue so I called.
"Yes sir, you're all set". Ok, a call would have been nice.... ummmm... I'm driving around on expired tags and suspended registration... 
So, I take an early lunch and head to the courthouse... mind you, each time I go to the courthouse my replaced shoulder sets off the gun detector and I get 'the look'. Ok, at the courthouse... first up is the GMC..... negative, not cleared yet.
Frustrations sets in and I'm about go blow up the insurance company when the light comes on....
"Can you please check the Nissan?"
WE HAVE A WINNER   the Nissan clears !  $48 and I am legal again.... on that one. But, the GMC is still pending.
Now the plan is to call tomorrow and see if it has cleared. If not, it's another trip to the insurance agency.
Tracy at the insurance agency is an angel. She is as frustrated as I am over this. It's not her fault and it's not my fault. Some jamoke at the state pushes the wrong button and causes havoc in the lives of 3 or 4 people.
Part of me wants to contact a lawyer and go after the state for the day and 1/2 of vacation time that I've invested. But we all know how that will play out.

Good morning GTA! Happy Thursday! Up at 0440 CT. I’m at work and just learned my dispatcher was released from making things harder than they needed to be. Onward and upward. Today is going to be a good day.

Good morning GTA! Happy Thursday! Got up at 0330 CDT. I’m in the parking lot at my GP's. Since losing so much weight my BP meds need adjusting. This morning I weighed 194 lbs, that's 30 lbs less that I was in mid February and 40 lbs less when my BP Rx was prescribed.

Mornin y’all.  We made it to San Antone finally.  Got stuck in a five hour fifteen mile traffic jam at the Texas line.  Today I think we will visit my FIL in the nursing home.  Pondering doing some “dental tourism” to Mexico as long as we are here.  Might shoot down to Matamoros next week and get the rest of my teeth pulled!

dunno what we're doing tonight, but it'll be good.  Otherwise, I spent the day... doing nothing.  My brand new laptop workstation (high spec i7 Lenovo with 64 gb RAM, 2TB drive) failed.  Less than 4 weeks old- dead motherboard.  Our IT guys sent in a ticket on Tuesday and my employer pays Premiere Support, meaning 24 hour turnaround service.  2+ days later, I'm still sitting, nobody called, no nothing.  I was directed to pull my old machine's hard-drive and destroy it (trade secrets so we can't ship old machines back with hard-drives)... as soon as I found out it was a Lenovo for the replacement, I set the drive aside from my old machine.  I saw this coming...  High end business machine fails in under 4 weeks (3 weeks and 1 day). 

My old PC was replaced for a reason- I wiped the drive so I sit here, doing nothing, unable to really work. 

In the meantime, I:

1: fixed my new to me Homelite chainsaw (actually a Ryobi- runs like a champ with the new carb, fuel line, and tank gasket)
2: drove to the store and bought more horticultural vinegar.  We've made a huge impact on the poison ivy but I intend to kill it all
3: fixed my old FS-73 Stihl weedeater
4: cut the grass
5: got an ancient Sears line-trimmer running.  It still needs a tank cap, but it runs now
6: started working on my Swisher walk-behind trimmer- compression is weak, so I can either rebuild or simply replace the engine

Good morning GTA! Up at 0430 CT. It’s Friday, but not one I was looking forward to, really. Today, the vet is going to come over to the house about 1130. We’ll say goodbye to Chopper & Millie, the 2 best dogs I’ve ever had. Not sure what I’ll do today after that. Mornings are going to be different. Coming home from work is going to be different. We’ll get through it, it’s just going to be different, maybe difficult for a bit. We’ve loved our dogs and they’ve loved us back the way loyal dogs do, for 12 years. They can’t be replaced, nor would we want to. I’ll cherish what we have had, what we have left today and that’s all.

I know they will never be "replaced" in your heart, but maybe a puppy is in your future.

P.T. at 0830 and then we're off sailing.  It's our 44th anniversary so a hood dinner with our friends from Illinois tonight.  I'll be having mashed potatoes.  Had a cracked molar pulled yesterday.  I did get 7 1/2 hours sleep last night, which is twice what I got in the prior 3 nights.

Back to 'on-call' status, no root beers for the next week, we expect a busy weekend with fed and state payments hitting accounts yesterday, Narcan is stocked up, warm weather locally, sunny. Should be an interesting week.

Rambo has been fading very fast. He limps around and struggles to get up or lay down. The left side of his face is drooping and he cocks his head to that side. He also drools from the left side of his mouth. I think he may have had some level of a stroke if that is possible in dogs. He also quivers at times.
I made a few promises to Rambo when I rescued him from my workplace several years ago. One of those promises was that I would never let him suffer or live a less than quality life. I also made Betty Lou agree to it but she is now having second thoughts.
These will not be easy times.
