So many members rising before the sun!  More power to you.  Me, I stay up late and sleep in.  I love being outside when the rest of the world is asleep.  However today I woke at 8:30 to ready myself for 10:30 mass.  I'm not a big fan of ham, so it's fillet mignot on the grill for dinner.

Ran to Andalusia this morning for breakfast at the Huddle House, smoking needs at Vinny's and various items from Walmart.
Betty Lou rolled smokes while I went through and organized a boatload of stuff that got shoved into the screened in back deck when we moved. We can actually walk through there now. Then I came up with the plan and material list for the shooting deck under the shed roof off the back of the mancave.
Betty Lou headed for the kitchen to make mac salad and cucumber salad to go with the salmon she's going to make for dinner.
The shooting deck will be 14' x 16'. It will be a 1 step up onto it from the ground and then another step up into the back door of the mancave. It's already wired with outdoor outlets on the posts and lighted on a switch.
It's also within range of the wireless internet of the mancave. I have a very large industrial pedestal fan to keep it cool.
75% of the wood for the deck is repurposed. I only need to buy the 2 x 8 rim boards and a couple joists.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday- back to the grind! I got up this morning at 0420ish CT. I’m tired. I put a big dent in getting stuff out of the garage and into the van, but the van is not yet organized. And the garage is not finished. I didn’t get my taxes done, but they need to get done tonight. There’s just not enough time in the day right now. And in between there’s some stuff I need to get stuff done that I’m looking for at certain phases that I can’t find. That’s eating up time while I’m doing it. Yesterday I spent a bit of time looking for my Torx impact bits for my door locks and window cages that I’m pretty sure last time I saw them, were already on my van. Oh well, today is the last day for me training the new guy. When I’m done with him today, I need to get home & do my taxes. First job this morning is an hour south of me and should just be a start up on a 3 door freezer. Hopefully, nothing crazy after that so I can get home before it’s too late.

Good morning GTA! It's Monday- back to the grind for some but not me,  I'm retired. I got up this morning at 0348 CDT. 

We had a tremendous amout of rain yesterday. If I read the rain gauge right, we had almost 4" of rain last night during a strong thunderstorm with lots of lightning. Lightning struck something behind my house last night, it was very close I'll go out and about this afternoon to see if I can find where it struck.

It's 65° currently with only a 5° increase predicted today, high near 70° with 15 mph northerly winds. So shouting is doubtful, we will see.

It's 28F this morning and snowing ever so lightly.
There is a light 7 mph west wind and it feels like 21F outside.
We are only supposed to get a 1/2 inch or so of snow then it will melt off later on today.
I woke uo at 5:45 and fixed myself a breakfast of scrambled eggs with venison sausage and, fried potatoes.
When my wife wakes up I will fix her the same breakfast as I had then head out to the garage.
I plan on doining a little shooting this morning with the .22 cal Hatsan Edge and the .117 cal Hatsan Striker.
I will spend this afternoon at my daughters place helping her out.
My wife and I took on the job of being her PCA because her health care provider couldn't find anyone else to do it after her last PCA quit.
We put in 20 hours a week. It does not pay much, about $10 per hour, but the extra income does indeed help with our retirement.
It is not about the money anyway, the main thing is to see that our daughter gets the help that she needs.

Just a bit of trivia this morning, out of GTA's 20,976 members only 27 members are online right now at 0600 CDT. Hmm?  That's a little more than 1/10th of 1%.

I've got a few things to do this morning, and by then just maybe the wind will die down a tad after lunch. Hopefully, fingers and toes crossed, I'll be able to shoot my HW97K today and get it zeroed at 30 yds.

I think many join so that they can post a question with a picture and just leave when they see that they can't post the pic immediately. Now I also suspect some of those are probably malicious intents but some are legitimate and don't want to put time and effort into the GTA.
Many people post a question in their introduction post and get a bunch of welcomes but the question is ignored because it is out of place. They may or may not know why it didn't get answered, but get discouraged because of not getting any answer. I have join other forums where all the content can only be seen by members and after I saw the one thing I needed I didn't go back or rarely go back. 


I was up until 1:00AM and in bed until 6:00AM
I had a funny/strange dream (I rarely dream). In the dream I was shot six times in a mass shooting and it barely increased my pain level. I ignored my wounds and helped others that were shot, then I woke up. WEIRD!

Afternoon ya'll.  Virtue is its own reward.  I like to get to work early.  The boss knows that.  So this morning when I called 10-8 on the radio I waited to see what he would say.  Sure enough, somebody called in sick.  I'm stuck in the ranger station all day!

I know it is just that a lot take the easy/lazy way or just do things their own way and then are disappointed that it didn't work out doing it their own way.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday- it’s Hump-Day!!! I got to bed last night about 2130, probably fell asleep in 15 minutes and woke up at exactly 0300 this morning. I’ve got a lot going on, so much to do and Spring/Summer work is full on. Oh well. I try to do one thing at a time, wind up multi-tasking and yet 3 or more things slip by. It is what it is, cheers to the guys who got things done and when you retired stay busy and say “I don’t know how I got anything done when I was working”. I figure I’ll get caught up someday, maybe in a dozen years or so when I retire. Today it’s raining, but I’m starting my day inside on a reach-in cooler I haven’t worked on yet, not sure how new they are. Last time I was at this site they had a different manufacturer for their coolers & freezers. Since I’m up early, after I’m ready, but before I go, I’ll work on pulling more stuff out of my van and putting the stuff I need on it. I’m getting pretty close to how I want it.

It's a chilly morning 46° now and will only warm up to the mid 60's under cloudy skies but we've got our wind back I see. Only 10-11 mph, I won't be doing any serious target shooting but I still plan on getting some trigger time with the 97.
