Good morning GTA! Yes it's already Thursday!!! Up at 0515 CDT. This morning we are heading back home. We will leave about 1000 and have about a 5 hour drive ahead of us. That's pretty much all my plans for today.

It's hard to say for sure but, I think I will have/spend less time per day for the GTA in the next year. I guess It won't hurt me to do more physically and less computer time.

Here I am am with my miserable 3000+ posts (snivel, snivel)

Afternoon y’all. Haven’t had internet access since yesterday morning. The memsahib and I went in to Coon Bottom and got our taxes done. I sat out in the yard and blasted spinners at thirty yards with my Hatsan mod 95 and the mod 125. Temps were in the mid seventies so I broke out the XS60C and used up the better part of a tin of CPHP’s. I’m going to have to replace my backstop. It’s made from pressure treated 2X6 planks but even at thirty yards the big Hatsans are chewing their way through it.

Taking a box of cans and bottles to the recycling bin this morning I appreciated the heavy morning dew and fog. Love days like today, though the smell of gasoline turned my nose. Looks like I have to tackle replacing the tanks on my 94 F-150. It needs considerably more work than the '86, but I'm stalled out on the older truck until I get the proper smog pump check valve (Ebay, not auto stores that get their part numbers from Ford who notoriously hosed up the 84-86 straight sixes!). Argh, both tanks are nearly full and the saddle-bag tank up front is ooooooold gas predating this year.

Hah, still gonna be a beautiful weekend even if it rains or snows!

Good morning GTA!!! Stormy day out. I'm starting my day off with a tornado watch. Up at 0430 CDT. So with rain and thunderstorms today till 1400 CDT I'm gonna be stuck inside.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday!!! I don’t have a job on my board for today. It’d be a good thing if they don’t have work for me today though. Yesterday afternoon I got to shoot airguns with my little shooting partner. After we put everything up we went to check the mail and heard my wife calling for me… she said she thinks the air conditioner is not working. So, I checked it and sure enough I got a leak. This time it’s on the corner on the bottom tube, just past the bottom support. I really should replace the unit, but as long as I can fix it, I’ll keep it going. I’ll put Ayrabella on the bus and then head to my chiropractor. After my chiropractor, I’ll call the office and take a PTO day and fix my air conditioner. I’m glad it happened now and not in the middle of summer.

Got the call last evening...
My Sister passed. We appreciate everyone's thoughts, prayers and condolences.
We've been through this many times in our family and we accept death as part of life.
We are not a religious family but we are spiritual and we have our own forms of faith.
We believe there is a power greater than us in control and we choose to call it God.
Now we are waiting to hear of the arrangements and preparing to head south when the time comes.
My Niece and Brother are handling that.

I don't miss working with dye. When I was working HVAC for Sears, condensing units only sprung leaks on the hottest days of the year, and only where family dogs took a whiz on them. Otherwise, evaporators, namely Goodman A-coils in tight attics all day long. The subs that did the installs were notorious for ham-handed moving the coils around and they'd invariable get banged up.

Her Daughter and Grand Daughter will have the hardest time with this. They lived with her and were the closest to her. The rest of us will hold their hands and walk them through it. My Brother (retired Navy) has been with them for the past couple months and he is doing a great job with them.
My Sister's main goal was to get her Grand Daughter through college. Ironically, she got her cap and gown just a couple days before my Sister passed. The sad part is, she wasn't coherent enough to see it. But she did it.

I don’t use dye, never had to. Might be easier or quicker in some cases I’ve had. I always purge my hoses with liquid refrigerant before I put them on. When I put them on last night, they went flat. All I did was pump it up with dry nitrogen to 200psi and sprayed fluorescent soap bubbles (leak detector) on the area I heard it leaking from. If I can’t find it that way, I’ll switch the nitro for refrigerant and use my electronic gas/refrigerant leak detector. And your right about the dogs peeing on them, I believe that’s where the fins went on this spot. Chopper pees on my air conditioner and I always ask him if he really needs to do that. He’s never answered me and just keeps doing it.

The truck and camper are hitched, tires checked and the trailer pretty much loaded. We had planned a two-night layover at Magnolia Ridge COE campground on our way to Galveston Island but the wind is absolutely howling! I'm thinkin' that we'll forego tonight's $10 campsite and not fight the wind today. But, if the wind lays, we may depart later than planned. Thanks to DST, it doesn't get dark until 1900 hrs, or so.

There will be no shootin' in today's wind either.
