Storm preparations are the plan for today; supposed to be a messy 3 days starting tomorrow

. Going to fill extra water jugs; clean the chimney, and other stuff, as (so far) they're calling for up to a tenth of an inch of ice and 5-10 inches if snow at the moment-so if a line goes down, it'll likely take a day or two to get fixed.

Good Morning to all! Yesterday I brought more of my dad's estate things home and then emptied my tool shed cleaned it out and rearranged it to be better organized and to make room for a cabinet my dad made. I didn't get it completely done and need to finish it today.

No storms to prepare for here, but in the last couple of weeks we have felt some earthquakes that were strong enough to remind us to be prepared for earthquakes. a week ago a 5.3 and a 4.1 yesterday that we felt real good. A few things fell off of shelves, but no damage.

As far as weather here it got up to 63 yesterday. Here is what our ten day looks like.

Headed for the tree stand, having to wear archery clothing - it has warmed up enough to wear shorts this afternoon. 2 days ago we had skin ice in the ditches. I wish this weather would make up it's mind. It's has been one weird, screwy winter for sure.

Rambo and Boss have a routine to go out in the morning and drink from the puddle in the driveway. Not they come back in confused because all they can do is lick the ice. They don't know what ice is.
I been waiting for one of them to get their tongue stuck....

Getting ready for the next couple of days.
Forecast is rain changing to 1/4' of freezing rain, then sleet changing to 10-15 inches of snow with lots of blowing.
If it turns out anywhere close to this it will be the biggest storm we have had in 10 years of so.
I hope the freezing rain does not appear.

Typical work day- start at 7:30, work until 4. I'll be working with the new gal on the Support Team to get her up to speed. I'm on my way to our Data Team but can't make the move until she's self-sufficient, but I'm also our legacy product expert so I'll always have one foot on the ground in Support.

Still doing some researching on what I want to tackle next on our new-to-us Honda Element and CR-V. We sold the Odyssey for WAY more than we bought it a year and a half ago and walked into a package deal on the aforementioned Hondas and still came out ahead. Neither is perfect but both are good and we absolute love the Element's versatility. We almost got the Odyssey stuck up at our property the last snow and found we actually do need AWD (and more ground clearance), which is what the CR-V and Element have. Carvana bought the minivan for a fat bundle of moolah. The pandemic has impacted prices across the board and the right vehicles can make you a pile of cash; a buddy sold his S-15 Jimmy for $8k. He owned it since the late 90s and has kept it in great shape after buying it for $1200. His wife sold their mid-80s Bronco a couple months ago on eBay- it was a low-miles rust-free immaculate interior example and all he said is they made "...a lot of money on it." I'm seeing prices on similar condition K-5s and Broncos approaching the $40k mark. It is nuts!

Good morning GTA! It’s Hump-Day! Slept in until 0530 CT, I stayed up a bit and watched a movie last night with my wife. Everyone’s freaking out a bit early on the weather, so I don’t have a first call for work. I’ll have to call in at 0800 to see what’s going on for today. Come 1700, though… I think we’ll be staying right here at home until probably Monday.

Up early, chickens fed, check cameras for pests, clean out and reset trap for pests, mount night scope on Hercules for the bigger pests. Tired of the chickens and deer being harassed this week. Hopefully I can stay awake long enough to bust something. It's tough being old.

Made it to work at 6:45am... travel condition level went from "yellow" to "orange" while in transit.
Supposed to be "Red" by the time I get off work.... then I am getting home and prepped to hunker down 2 days.

Getting the last storm preps together; revised totals are 7-12" and a light glaze of ice-very glad that the ice totals haven't went up. Filling water jugs/buckets; woodbox and such-if a line goes down; it will probably be a few days getting it back up

But, thankfully-we have nowhere to go; so no need to deal with the roads.

Good morning all, I stayed awake until about 2, so I managed to stay in bed until 7:30 this morning, more of the same sorting and putting some estate things away...

Our 10 day forecast was revised a little warmer with 81 degrees in sight. At my house we seem to run 1-5 degrees warmer than the forecast for town most of the time. The winds also tend to be a little to a lot stronger too. Most of the time the wind is just a breeze though.

tonight it will get positively cold with a low of 31*f back up to 68* by Saturday. Winter really sux !!!!

Tonight is is suppose to get down to 32 overnight, currently at 7PM it's 49.6 on my back deck.
