Good morning GTA! It’s Hump Day! Up at 0400 CT. Training the new guy and work has blown up. There’s so many calls, it’s like summer, but worse. I have no competent help in my area, but I’ve got “help”… they’re running around screwing things up, stacking a heavier load on me than I already need, because I have to go behind them at some point to fix them and they’re jamming me up on the phone instead of training or fixing my own things. I did one last night and have to stop back to tie something up first thing this morning. Yesterday I had to leave 2 jobs incomplete on my own that I’m going to have to go back to. One was a cooler down full of bad milk in busted containers they’ll have to clean out so I can work on it, the other one a 5 door freezer I had to set up to thaw, there was too much ice for me to wait. I’m covered up through Friday and tomorrow morning we have to inventory my van and the new guy’s. This isn’t even half of what all I have going on. Monday was 12 hours, yesterday 14 hours and it seems like we’re not completing anything or getting anywhere. This morning we have 2 calls on us and all we can do is one at a time. Coffee first.

Rough, 4 jobs, 14 hours… but we fixed everything today and left nothing down. I can see the light!

Good morning GTA! Happy Thursday, tomorrow is Friday-yay! Woke at 0400, forced myself to sleep in until 0530 CT. My plan is to have the new guy meet me at my house at 0730 to do inventory. To do inventory right, takes half a day. We are planning on dumping everything to the ground and load it back up nice. Of course, we have to get to our first job as soon as we’re done. The kicker is I’ve got a dental appointment at noon. I’ll have the new guy take his lunch while I’m doing that and we’ll go from there.

A park ranger ain’t never going to work that hard.  But I’ll die poor!
Personal choice.  I’m just too lazy for real work.
Late patrol today.  A nice, easy shift.  I went hunting this a.m.  I’ll go in about noon and work until the park closes.  More park bench and picnic table renovation today!

Tomorrow I head to the dealer where I bought my F150 the windshield washer did not work from day 1 and the dealer has had to order a replacement wiper motor which actually sends power to the washer motor  so far they have replaced the washer motor and the wiper washer switch/stem on the steering column all that is left is the wiper motor assembly.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday! We made it! Up at 0400 CT. Inventory, no matter how screwed up, is complete. The new guy & I are worn out. I keep telling him, “this ain’t normal”. Who am I kidding? Carter, these past 10-11 years have been too frantic for me too, I moved here to slow down, but that’s not how it’s been. It just is what it is, until someday it isn’t. This morning I’ll meet the new guy at 0700 & go get our filters for a filter change PM. A couple hours for that job and I’ll send the new guy home for the weekend, he’s got a 5.5 hour ride home. I’m on call this weekend.

Inventory and taxes- two of the worst things we’ve ever come up with. ~

If I ever get a brand new van, (which is in the rumor mill right now -that I’m supposed to get a Ram 3500) I’ve told them I want zero parts on it. I’ll stock it from the ground up myself and keep a rolling count from day one.

Mornin y’all.  The right side of my jaw is swollen like the mumps.  I’m on my way to the dentist this a.m! Not too much pain but I’ll probably spend most of the day in a waiting room and the rest in the chair. 
Whatever you got going on today I bet it’s more fun than I’m going to have.  Wish me luck!

Maybe slightly more fun.....
I came out to go to work this morning and something felt funny on the truck. I got out to look and sure enough, flat tire... side wall blown out.
I looked under the truck and no spare. I bought this old truck from Killer and never even checked for a spare.
Anyways, I called work and the GM came and brought me to work. When we got here, he found another employee who had a spare and got the maint. man to take it to my house and drop it off.
I'll be changing a tire on my lunch break.

Bring more stuff to the trailer this morning and put it away so I don't have to step over stuff when I hit the road next Sunday. Also, I need to plug the trailer pigtail into the pickup and check if the brake controller sees the trailer connection since I redid the ground lug for the trailer hitch wiring

The dreaded year end inventory today at work. I am going in at 6am to get a jump on it. My goal is to be done and out by noon but I think that may be wishful thinking.
I got the 2 new tires on the truck yesterday and was only 45 minutes late getting back to work from lunch.
Then plan is to get some time with the Beeman 1358 after work today and get it dialed in.

Good morning GTA! Good morning Bill, Don! I got up at 0500 CT. Happy Saturday! But I’m on call this weekend. After coffee, I’m going to try to get my haircut. I have a few boxes of stuff I need to go through from inventory to put away or throw out. I hope I don’t get called out, my wife found an electric Jeep for Ayrabella for Christmas I have to go pick up at 1100 hrs. Other than that, if I’m home, I will be separating scrap, I really need that pile gone.

Mornin y’all.  The swelling in my jaw has gone down some but I ain’t 100% today.  I should be on my way to another park to do my primitive fishing interpretive program at an event. I ain’t up for a two hour drive and then eight hours on my feet followed by a two hour drive home.  So I’m gonna lay around the shack today and recuperate.

Today, 59 years ago, my Mom was giving birth.
 My plans today are watch GRIT, Surf the interwebs, shoot as many guns as physically possible, take a nap... shoot some more.
 Then we are going to Mom's and take her out to dinner for giving me the gift of life at the restaurant of my choice. Salvatori's Italian Eatery

It's only 8:00 and the sun is coming up to a perfectly calm, clear day. GRIT is on and I am posting on GTA. (so far so good)
